I appreciated how easy Terri was to coordinate with - she even did a FaceTime with me before the session to give me some organization product ideas. Amy was our organizer on the day and she was lovely to work with. She helped us go through our master closet in a very nonjudgmental and straightforward way. She helped us donate almost 3 bags of items. We plan on working with Terri and her team again and would recommend for anyone to hire her for your organizing needs.

After I moved house, I had so many rent-a-crates to unpack and return very quickly. I felt overwhelmed and couldn't move two feet without hitting a box, and unpacking by myself was too slow. I contacted Terri again. Terri couldn't come out to personally help me within my limited window of time, but she has fantastic team members. Kammy came to help me, stayed for just under five hours, and we unpacked every rent-a-crate plus all of the cardboard boxes! There is a little left to do in order to make my new place feel like home, but Kammy's help means that 95% of the work is done. I am so pleased with The Chicago Organizer. Terri and Kammy are kind, professional, quite fair in their pandemic requirements, and most of all -- HELPFUL. Money well spent again!

My wife and I got married last November at the Bridgeport Art Center which is a beautiful space,…read morebut is just that--a space. We had to find a florist, decorator, caterer, a band, and someone to set the whole place up and tear the whole place down. Instead we found Amber, who did a little bit of everything to make out wedding less stressful and more beautiful. Besides organizing everyone day of she helped in the lead up, thinking of things that never would have occurred to us and making phone calls to fix problems before we knew they existed. She was incredible. And did it all in a way that made me believe she really wanted us to just have a perfect day. Next time I have an event of any size to organize, she will be my first call.

I tend to have lists and lists of things I want to get done and have no idea where to start. She sorted my mail, designed a new closet system for me, cleared out bags of extra clothes and set me up with contractors. I got my condo painted and built in a wine fridge/bar/glassware cabinet that I'd been wanting to do since I bought the place! This past January, my job was moving me out of state and one day I suddenly realized I wasn't sure what I needed to do to prepare for my move. Movers were coming to pack up my stuff in a few weeks and I'd done nothing to prepare. I reached out to Amber and within the hour, she laid out my game plan, gave me a to do list, and highlighted where she could help out. Within 10 days, my stuff was on a truck and I was mostly ready to go. I had to ask her to come back after I left to take one more box to the post office to mail and she was perfectly happy to do it. I recommend her if you need help planning, getting organized, or just a quick reality check when you're overwhelmed by random life tasks. She breaks it down and gets it done. Now if I could just find someone like her in NYC....

The project started small (one day) and has extended to them transforming my entire house. I have recommended them to my friends and will continue to work closely with them! Thanks COH for my gorgeous spaces.

This review is mainly for Diana M. of HRS…read more After my dad spent a week in the hospital, he was prescribed home health care. This was my first experience with home health care; my parents had worked with other firms before, but with my mom in another hospital, I went with the attending physician's advice and engaged HRS. Home health care assigns a team of professionals to the patient and caregiver to assess their needs. We were assigned a social worker, Tom, an OT, PT and nurse, Diana. The nurse does the initial intake and assessment, the OT determines whether there's a need for future visits and assesses the safety of the home. In our case, she suggested modifications (taking up rugs, etc.) and ordered some equipment. I really appreciated this part of the process since my dad was frail and living on his own for the better part of 3 months. The PTs worked more with my mom helping her build strength and mobility; getting her from a walker, to a rollator, to walking on her own. They attempted to improve my dad's mobility and alleviate some of his osteoarthritis pain. The social worker checked in mainly via phone to see how things were going and, for my mom, came out to do an eval. Diana, our nurse, was at our house weekly. She checked my dad's vitals and well-being to help ensure we could keep him from being re-admitted to the hospital. For my mom, she helped with wound care, ordered medical supplies and ensured her level of care was adequate. She always kept me in the loop and alerted me when there were concerns. My dad was very easygoing, so I'm sure Diana's job was probably pretty easy at least until my mom became her patient. By the time my mom was discharged from the hospital, Diana was a veteran member of our care team. The best words I can use to describe my mom's demeanor during her first months out of the hospital are: intense, impatient, and uncooperative. In case it wasn't clear, home health is not private nursing, nurses go from patient to patient, so it's rare they'll be there like clockwork. At times, my mom would call Diana and their office incessantly; no matter how much she screamed and ranted, they were always professional even when they had to call me for an assist. I worried Diana would hit her limit, but she put up with my mom like a champ, eventually finding a way to connect with her. I never envisioned having two critically ill parents at the same, I don't know how we would've gotten by without the help of places like HRS.

Some of the patients HRS gets are oftentimes not used to being cared for by CNAs who are minorities. I've experienced racism working at HRS and I've even had patients to lie on me for stuff I didn't do. Some of the work assignments aren't that great and staffing will keep under wraps a patient's true colors. HRS tend to deal with a lot of high end clients who are super picky. Which makes working impossible because you're forced to take other jobs to make up for hours lost because there's not enough work coming through. They also expect you to drive to really far for some work assignments. I voluntarily resigned in early 2019 because I haven't been working in three months as a result of not having any available patients. Pay was decent but if you're working with high end patients they can afford to pay their CNAs a living wage.
