    I don't know where my original review went, but we are extremely unhappy with them, and let me tell…read moreyou why: 1) They are late. 5-10 minutes is understandable, but when they are anywhere between 25-45 (yes, 45!!) minutes late, it's unacceptable. And multiple times--at least 4 times, causing us to be late to work because my grandma cannot answer the door by herself so we could not leave when we needed to. Additionally, when their caregivers are late, we did not even get courtesy calls. We had to call them to be like, ???, and then we'd hear "oh, they went to the wrong address" or "oh, their car didn't start" but this was never communicated to us until WE called. This tardiness is also not specific to one girl; there is only one caretaker who was consistently on time but we have a HUGE issue with her work ethic, which leads us to... 2) Laziness! The company puts in its bio that their caregivers will do light housework for their patients. My 92-year-old grandmother (93 in two weeks, go her!) asked this caretaker to put away the clean dishes. She responded that's not her job, unless she herself ate something. That in and of itself is weird, but then the kicker was that my grandma did not want to wait to have them put away, so she got up and started doing them. The lady STILL DID NOT HELP even after her patient got up and 'walked' (she needs a walker to take a few steps, and a wheelchair for any longer trips) herself to the dishwasher and started putting them away. It was only after my grandmother had put away about half before she became too tired that this lady stepped in. Seriously?? Our coverage needs are about 3-4 hours a day, and if she cannot be bothered to do anything during that time, what's the point of her? 3) Fudging hours. This is a biggie. In the last three months alone, we've had to have four invoices adjusted because caretakers were calling in from their mobile phones before they arrived at the house. As I mentioned earlier, we stay at the house until the caretaker gets there, and we have records of when they actually show up & leave. They keep putting in hours that they were there before the arranged time, even if they were on time or even late! Luckily Care & Comfort itself was amenable to modifying the bills to show accurate times. So needless to say, we are completely done with this service. I will say their administrators and schedulers are fine, but that can't make up for the bad care. If you want to use them, that's your prerogative, but we highly suggest you look elsewhere if you actually want caregivers who are punctual, honest, and actually help their clients.

    My elderly father had lived with me for many years. Initially, he was very independent. He could…read morewalk, make his own lunch, and even help around the house. But two hospital stays later, he was a different man. He could no longer walk. While still sharp-minded, he needed assistance with nearly everything physical: dressing, going on the potty, cleaning himself. And now, I also found myself on diaper duty. Because I was blessed to be working at home, I could do some of this care myself. But I still needed to work, and I needed time to myself occasionally, and I needed time to rest. And then... my husband became ill with lymphoma. I knew that I needed much more help. I could NOT do it all by myself anymore. Enter Care & Comfort at Home. They helped me and my father in several ways. One of the biggest things they did for me was to assist me in setting up care through the VA (Dad is a WW II vet) so that part of the care they provided would be PAID FOR by the VA. That made me able to afford much more assistance, which allowed me to be able to care for my ill husband, and give me a break as well. The care they provide is excellent, and it starts at the top. Owner David has a heart of gold. He and I talked at length about his motivations for running such a business, and I could tell from that conversation that he's doing it purely out of the love of being able to give and provide to others who are in need. Pretty awesome. His manager, Carissa, is just as devoted and dedicated to the care of seniors as David. Always available, always working hard to make sure our needs were met, and not just met, but met "accordingly." Dad's care was specific and he could be particular at times too, and Carissa always made sure that the caregiver assigned to my father was RIGHT for my dad and for his needs. In my Dad's old age, he was not an easy man to care for. He could be bossy, rude, and belligerent. But his individual caregivers were very patient with him and showed so much love for him, even when he didn't always treat them with the same respect. I so appreciated their patience! They made his meals exactly as he wanted them, cared for his every need, talked to him and kept him company, and would back off when he needed his space. I HIGHLY recommend Care & Comfort at Home for anyone seeking home care for a loved one. I loved having Dad at home as long as possible... Care & Comfort made me feel confident and good about doing just that.
