He answered the phone, friendly as can be, asked some questions and said he could get someone out tomorrow. He told me how to turn off the water supply to the humidifier and then asked me if he could call me right back. And he did! Two minutes later. He said he found someone (Jeff) who could come today. Wow! Jeff showed up, explained exactly what the problem was, fixed it and then handed my a bill that made my day! It was the most reasonable amount I could ever have expected. Uttke performed a diagnostic and confirmed what I thought all along--the air handler was not cracked, and there was no carbon monoxide leaking into my home. The system was cutting off because I had installed one of those "smart" thermostats that have given homeowners so much trouble. Uttke did show me a good replacement for my furnace when the time came--a mid-range Armstrong furnace. I appreciated their integrity. I went out of my way to purchase AprilAire filters from Uttke because I appreciated how I was treated. Fast forward a couple years and I had moved to Cedarburg and needed two heat pumps. I called Uttke, got an in-person assessment, and a quote. I purchased on the spot and within days I had two heat pumps installed. Uttke was great in terms of communication to make certain the units were placed where I wanted them, and where they would make the most sense. I would recommend Uttke with confidence.

I noticed they were the only HVAC company to actually use a scope type camera tool to validate problem areas. They showed me, real time, what they discovered. Within two hours, Matt was at my house. Matt diagnosed the issue, explained my options at different price points, and gave me realistic expectations for each. What I appreciated most was that he really let me take the lead without ever making me feel pressured. I ultimately decided to replace my 21-year-old A/C unit. My one critique is that I didn't get to choose the specific unit. That said, Nordic picked a dang good one. They properly sized the system for my house and handled the installation. If I had to do it again, I honestly would have called Nordic sooner. I also would have asked about replacing my thermostat while they were there--my current one is old and yellowing, although it's certainly no big deal. Matt was back within 48 hours with his apprentice, Brandon. Both are young, but incredibly sharp. Brandon walked me through every component, explained what everything did, and showed me how to maintain the system. Matt stood there like a proud parent (they're within 10 years of each other) and confirmed everything Brandon explained.
