Just graduated from beginner improv workshop and am starting to do intermediate! These classes have been the highlight of my life since moving to Utah. Comedy sportz is a must whenever you are in provo! It's clean, fun, and fast paced most of the time. I have enjoyed nearly every time I have gone. The staff is great and do a good job, they really love it and have a passion for comedy which is refreshing and helps the audience be more engaged i would say. The building is pretty old though, and the chairs are pretty uncomfortable after a while. Since the showers are a little longer, about an hour and a half, the old buttocks can really be needing a stretch after the show to avoid all sorts of cramping. All in all a good place, I'd say most of the time it's fun. I've been once or twice where I thought it was subpar, it just depends on who the performers are for the night. read more

If you go during the improv nights then you'll have good wholesome fun. However, if you go during the variety nights...it's awful. They hired a dance crew and female rapper that was just cringeworthy and made our whole family and friends of 8 people thoroughly uncomfortable. It was awkward, not funny, and we honestly did not get our money's worth. 2 stars only because it's great on improv nights but not variety night. read more

Over the years, I've taken many a date to ComedySportz. It's the classic BYU second date, in my opinion. Every time, I've wondered why I haven't been back sooner. It's fun, it's got a cool atmosphere, and the guys are usually hilarious. Operating word here is "usually", as improv comedy can be tough. Don't come here expecting the already-rehearsed, master-level performances of Who's Line Is It Anyways, but come expecting to have a good time and a lot of laughs. read more

It felt more like fhe or a church event than a comedy club. I don't have a problem with clean humor but I want variety and inclusion. Not everyone who lives here is Mormon! There were a bunch of loud kids in the audience. Just didn't feel like a real comedy club. read more

This place was great, the referee was helpful and guided the audience and comedy well. The two teams (blue and red) were so funny and had various games they play with different rules and guideline for the skit. The place was packed and audience was involved and sang along with the songs and throughout the games the audience was asked for words, movie titles, people's names even a game including a text message conversation from a random a persons cel phone where they read different excerpts and create an improv act. The game "5 things" was brilliant and the enter man who played it was absolutely spot on and guessed then perfectly. They had to speak jibberish and try to charade the various things and the other guy had to guess it. I was just amazed at some of these things! read more

It was surprisingly really funny! My whole family enjoyed it! We were laughing the whole time.

You can't beat the price for some fun clean humor! I have been three times and it's sometimes a hit or miss. So far I've enjoyed each time I've been, but there is the occasional off comedian that is having a bad night or not all that funny. I will say the whole setup and environment is fun! The ref is the guy that can make all the difference, so just hope for a good one. read more

One of my favorite places to be in Provo! My father-in-law was a comedic here when he was in college so it holds a special place in my heart! It is amazing to be able to hear funny, clean humor. It is so hard to find comedy acts with no vulgar language or jokes, or clean places that are actually funny, but this is the best of both worlds! If you've lived in Utah Valley for a time you know most people entertain themselves on dates by hiking the Y, going on a picnic, dinner and a movie, or the illustrious hanging out and playing Scrabble at the laundrymatt while running a few loads through (yeah, we can be that exciting). Comedysportz allows you to be entertained by something other than the spin cycle in a very entertaining and engaging way. I've been twice, and while there were some return "players" there were also some fresh faces. So we ended up with a nice mix. I'm a fairly dour individual who would actually prefer spending the money on a washer/dryer experience in most cases, but Comedysportz just happens to be one of my favorite escapes. I was, at the very least, smiling the whole time, and for the most part I was experiencing belly-laughs (which for those sitting around me is pretty much silent earthquakes followed up by some wheezing). This place is fun. It is clean comedy and family friendly. The laughs are spotty and only a few of the players of funny. It's cheapo and a good date night. It does sell out in the summer so it's best to buy tickets online. Also, arrive 15-20 min early to get good seats. read more

Great entertainment and a reasonable price! It is clean humor but not necessarily for young kids because they won't understand the jokes. We went to the Friday 8pm show and every seat was full. About 5 years ago I came here at least once every two months, but I went today and it was not how I remembered. For a Friday night it wasn't even half full and I quickly realized why. To start the referee just wasn't funny and he didn't really get the audience involved in any of the games. Some of the players were really trying, but others just seemed awkward and not comfortable on stage. In my personal experience with these type of comedy clubs, music is the key to funny. There were way too many silent awkward pauses in the skits and I could tell the players just didn't feel comfortable. One more thing that bothered me was that they kept the themes of the games and the whole tone of the place too church related. Just because it is in Utah, doesn't mean all of your material has to be church related. When the players are singing primary songs........that's when I knew this place was loosing its comedic touch. I really hope it was just a fluke, because I believe it can be a very funny place to spend your night. So I will give it one more try. read more

I literally have never laughed so hard in my entire life. It's all improv, clean humor! I've been there 4 times now (throughout 2.5 years) and it just gets better every time. I'm from out of state and I go to Comedy Sportz every time I'm in Provo. Recommend a thousand times over. read more

I love this place! I recommend it to everyone I know because it's such a fun night out for people of all ages. Even if you buy tickets online be sure to get there early before the line starts so that you can get good seats (no assigned seating). Even if you end up sitting in the back, you can clearly see the people performing up front. One thing to remember as well is to dress comfortably because it get super hot in there. read more

This comedy club states they they are "clean and family friendly". We attended last weekend with a large group of teenage kids and it was NOT family friendly at all! It was inappropriate and made everyone feel uncomfortable. We were sorely disappointed after spending $130 to take everyone to have the show be very low class. Comedysportz is a favorite pasttime for my husband and I while we were dating. We have probably attended over a dozen show nights, and it's different every time. I love the mostly-clean humor with some underhanded moments that only adults will catch on to. The actors are always hilarious and there is much audience involvement. My son, his friend and two dates made reservations last night on the phone. They spoke with a live person, gave her credit card information, and reserved 4 seats for the 8:00 show. Due to some traffic, they got there about 7;55 and were told there were no more seats. Their reserved and paid for in advance seats had been given away and there were no seats left for them! To pour salt in the wound, they were told that maybe if they'd gotten there at 7:30 they could have gotten a seat. What? Since when do you have to be in your seat 30 minutes early when you have reservations? I called them later that night and while apologetic, the lady told me that they are a theater and abide by theater rules. I told her I totally understood that and if I was late to the theater I would expect to have to wait until the opening number was over, I might miss some of the show, etc, but a theater would not just give my seats away! I really thought they would try to make it right by offering my son and friends free tickets to another show, but no, nothing. It's too bad because I had previously recommended them to all of my college-age kids and their friends as date night ideas. I understand human or computer error and over selling tickets, but I don't understand not trying to keep your customers happy and displaying good customer service. read more
