They say they have a 2 item minimum but we had to flag a waitress down 30 min after the show started to even get help. we had a moscow mule ($15) and a high brew coffee (6$)bill was about 23$ I tipped 20% but now have a charge for $35- interesting calculations there.... I ended up meeting a very nice couple who had just moved here and surprisingly was there using the same redemption of points. We were able to get in early, as they had an open mic night directly before the event. After checking in, they provided two casino tokens for the complementary drinks that came with the BILT package. They had a pretty decent bar menu and their drinks had some very unique names. I don't recall the one that I got, but it made me laugh when I read it. It was a tasty drink to say the least. Since I got one of my drinks went out to check out the patio, which was pretty expensive. They seem to have seating for a few people, and I don't think either of the food trucks were open, but I could see on a busy night how they would totally come in handy. Once they told us we were able to come inside ended up getting a table a couple rows back so I could have a good view of the stage. Slowly people started to filter in. The show was definitely not your typical comedy show. They had a drag comedy show and ended up doing 10 person debate if you will call it that. Basically they were trying to sell us the audience on what they believed was true. An example....."The hoes need to go to the gym" it's not what you think. So they ended up getting a think a minute to pitch their speech on why we should agree with them. They would ask us if we agree or disagree and it was actually pretty fun and entertaining, very interactive. I believe that the show changes I'm not sure if this would be the specific one that happens, but it was very interesting. Definitely found the venue to be very quaint and it's so close to everything on sixth Street.

We loved the show, had some food because I was so hungry, but it was good. The main event was absolutely hilarious. Even when it rained, we still had a great time. When the show ended, they evacuated everyone to make space for the next show, which I understand as it's business, but I would've liked to stay and mingle a little bit. Its hard when places are small and can only accommodate a specific number of people. However, the experience was great and we had a great time. Laughed a lot! It was definitely more the experience than the actual location.

Not only did I finally make that happen, but I even ended up sitting front row. While this is a review more for the Mothership, I'll share my experience for seeing Kill Tony. I have tried to win the lottery for tickets several times. Apparently the new system is awesome because the first time I tried it, I won. I picked a random date like 4 months into the future and couldn't believe the email that came in a few days later telling me that I won. My friend and I killed some time in the afternoon, but we really didn't have much to do, so we opted to get to the Mothership crazy early: 4:45 for an 8:00 show. When we arrived there were about 10 people, but most of them were in the standby line, so we were 5th and 6th in the line for people who actually have tickets. They put up stanchions and officially divided the lines into two, around 5:15p. The most awesome thing about this part of the day is that one of the guys who puts his name in the bucket every week (he's been pulled once), is handicapped, and he takes advantage of his handicap parking, which is right on the side of the building, next to where we were lined up. He has like 20+ folding chairs in his truck and lets people use them. He even has a cooler with waters and gatorades, which he offers to everyone. One-by-one, we all felt bad he was doing this for free when he easily could have charged us. Those chairs and waters were very clutch in the Austin heat. Thank you sir, who probably will never read this. But if you do, you are a saint. We were let in sometime after 7pm (I can't remember exactly when), and they make you put your phone (and smart watch) in the yondr bag. We heard from others that if you are the first people to walk in to be seated that you are sat in front of the band, so we purposely let a couple groups go in, and then we went for it. Me and my friend ended up being in the front row, in the seats directly in front of Tony and Redban. Pretty awesome. Tony interacted with my friend a couple of times and let him do the first bucket pull. But before we get to the actual show, they played house music for a while, which ranged from hip hop to classic rock, but more hip hop than anything else. The sound system is top notch. Then the band came out and played 3-4 songs, all of which were killer. And then it was time for the show itself, which of course, was a banger like it always is. The only dislikes: -Not the most comfortable chair to be seating in for 3+ hours. But then again, what chair would be? They really pack you in extremely tight, so I understand we're not all going to be in La-z-boys. -The 2 drink minimum. Standard, but always kind of a bummer to force people to drink. You can choose a non alcoholic beverage if you want, which is helpful for some, but still, why have a minimum at all? Otherwise, this was a memorable, once-in-a-lifetime experience I'm so glad I was able to finally have.

The quality of the shows are ironic considering the patron saint of the Comedy Mothership, Mitzy Shore, once said, "it is a sin to encourage mediocre talent". The show is BYOB, which made it even more fun and affordable, and tickets were only around $20 per person. Totally worth it. We laughed the entire night and actually enjoyed every comic, which almost never happens. If you're looking for a really solid comedy night in Austin, definitely check them out.

If I would've known, I had more time to stop at H-E-B. The segment lip service Is that comedians had a five minutes set and then use audience comments about needing advice on a topic. I wouldn't say there was heckling, but there was back-and-forth commentary from the audience and the comedian, which I grew not fond of the host did not jump in to save the situation either me and my friend did not stay for the whole show. The first ~3 "openers" each did about a 7-minute set. None of them were great, but they were brief. The headliner (Tre Tutson) as well as the guy right before him (Kenjamin Alonzo) were great! Good at reading the room, lots of laughs. The bar wasn't crowded and we got drinks right away, which was awesome. They also have little QR codes on the tables, so you can order from the bar during the show without having to interrupt the set, and someone brings your drinks to the table. Also great! Seating is open if you have a ticket. You can choose your table. I definitely recommend coming here, whether you're with a date or a group of friends.

Fallout Theater is a local gem of a theater that provides comedy relief and education for…read moreAustinites and visitors. The theatre runs shows on a nightly basis, usually after 7 or 8pm in the evening and simultaneously teaches a bunch of different comedy classes, including improv, stand-up, sketch, clown, and other one-off specialty comedy classes. Most of the normal classes run for approximately 8 weeks and are about 2 hours a week. The pricing for almost 16 hours of instruction is usually super reasonable (~$250 classes, or less than $15/hr). Most instructors are local Austin veterans and I've always enjoyed taking classes at the Fallout (at least for improv) and often end up being local community members that you'll see in shows or other comedy-related events. Shows are often affordable and a fun date night option that have different themes catering to anything you'd like. There's a small amount of snacks (candy) and a bar up-front for show attendees. Parking is relatively limited but not impossible to find. You can find street parking usually just one block north of the Fallout on 7th Street, 8th Street, Guadalupe, and Lavaca.

My 11 year old son and I went to see "A Tuna Christmas" last night at the Sam Bass theatre!! What…read morean fabulous show! Two guys play the roles of the whole cast! So funny, we laughed so much! The scene changes were cleverly done and the costume changes for each character were brilliant! The actors never mixed up any of the 21 characters that they played between them. We felt like we had seen 21 different characters in the play. No one missed a line, and here were LOTS of lines! I highly recommend it to anyone and everyone! I had never been to the Sam Bass theatre before and for those who haven't you're in for a real treat! There are 52 seats! Everyone has a great view! There is a little bar area to the left of the theatre where they offer drinks, including wine and beer. Take cash in smaller denominations as it is cash only and the suggested "donation" for drinks start with sodas for one dollar. At the interval there were some little snacks to eat, a fruit platter, cheese and crackers etc, this was complimentary, very generous and welcomed by all! All in all we had a memorable evening and we both absolutely loved it. Thank you to the Sam Bass Theatre, we will be back!!
