DO NOT LAUGH OUT LOUD! I've been to nearly a hundred comedy shows in my life and what a disaster this is. The older man that manages the place was way out of line. We were laughing at the comedian's jokes like normal people, not obnoxious at all. We are respectful, mature adults. The manger was sitting next to us. He stood up and leaned in and said "SHHHH! You need to keep it down and laugh quieter". At that moment the whole place was erupting with laughter. Who the hell tells somebody to not laugh loud in a comedy show? Fire this man immediately, he has absolutely no place here. We left the comedy show early after I gave him a few choice words. I got the casino manager which was astonished by what I told him. I was laughing super hard in the manager told me I cannot laugh he basically came over and shushed me. How disappointing for a comedy show that you can't enjoy yourself and laugh. Wow, this was terrible. The comics were good but the experience was completely ruined by the employee with the mullet hair cut who aggressively and inappropriately put his hands on me halfway through the show to tell me to bring up my mask. Completely ridiculous and inexcusable. He approached from behind and out of nowhere pounded on my chest because my mask was not where he determined it should have been. Mullet man is damn lucky he didn't get hurt tonight. I will be sure to review this show on TripAdvisor and Yelp, and also on Vegas.com, where the tickets were purchased. It is a comedy show, not a prison. If the administration was truly concerned about the spread of pathogens, they would have made use of all the unused space in the theater and also would not have sold alcohol, which obviously requires the removal of the masks (which have been proven to be ineffective multiple times) for consumption. The comics were funny. The staff were tyrannical. The Rio has become a complete and total embarrassment. read more

Went and saw the show for the first time and had a really great time. Comedians & host were hilarious, seating was great and atmosphere was fun. Only complaints.... -bit of a wait to enter and have tickets scanned and then to be seated since they have to take each group back individually. -waitress forgot my drink order....the ENTIRE place had drinks AND their FOOD for quite awhile before I was able to wave her down and no apology was given. An I'm sorry goes a long way. Id definitely go back. It's a great date night spot. read more

On 01/28/22 I had the pleasure of being able to go see some really great comedians at the comedy cellar. It was my first time and on top of that I was alone so I was a bit nervous. I thought that the comedians did a great job in mixing comedy, with some great inappropriate humor that doesn't cross a line And is actually able to be spread out evenly to were a diverse crowd is able to all be entertained, and just enjoy. BUT, hands-down the best part of the comedy cellar was the service! As I said it was my first time and I was alone I had a server named ANGELICA, she made me feel like I wasn't alone provided me with the best service I've ever had and made everything so personable. Before the show even started I was able to feel completely relaxed!! And it wasn't just me I sat back and I watched it, and I seen that she was the exact same way and carried that great dynamic energy with each guest there! I've never come across someone who actually cares about the service they put out. Based On the experience of her alone I would definitely come back and I can't stop recommending this place enough! This was a fabulous and reasonably priced evening out. We had some excellent comedians and a surprise visit by Amy Schumer - one of the reasons we booked the Friday night was the chance of a bigger name popping in. There's a small, pub style menu but with a smaller selection than other places. The food and drinks were overpriced (It's Vegas, so was to be expected) and the wings were a small portion and a but soggy. Would recommend you eat before you go and just enjoy the show. There's a full bar, and the server offered me a drink that would taste less strong than the ones on the menu (Bahama Mama - was delicious!) They checked our tickets far too many times on the way in - very annoying to have to keep getting my phone out over and over again, and they also asked to see both of our IDs which was unnecessary. I'm somewhere in between wanting to tell everyone about the Comedy Cellar, but also wanting to keep it a secret. Comedy club from NYC that has discovered so many famous comedians! 7P and 9P shows daily. Our 7P show went later than 9P and there was a line formed outside when we left. There is a bar (and one bathroom stall!) inside. You can order drinks at the bar or once you get to the seat with the wait staff. They walk around throughout the show. The Jalapeno drink was spicy! The venue is small and intimate. Tables with chairs, no fancy recliners. No assigned seats, just sections. Get there early if you want to get a front row seat and get picked on! Easy to get tickets in large groups. It's inside the Rio, go toward the Indian restaurant on the casino level. Cheap date, free parking, no on the strip traffic? Comedy Cellar is the perfect night out! read more

We had a blast! The atmosphere was fun and the comedy was great! The bartender was awesome and the drinks were great!

We're local and have been coming here for a few years every so often for date nights. We have never had a bad experience. Every show has left us with a smile on our face, the staff is always nice. The comedians sometimes come out to take pictures or sell some of their merch at the end of the lineup. All around great atmosphere. If you get there early enough, they have an open bar (they have table service through the whole show as well), but they play throwback Funniest Home Videos, and so it's always a great time from start to finish. I must also add the tickets are fairly inexpensive, and the venue is intimate. Overall, it will always be a favorite date night activity in my book. read more

Horible service and mediocre food. Server had to be flagged down to order drinks then didn't ask the entire table for order and left. Ordered wood fire pizza. Came out with a salad on top of pizza making difficult to eat and ruining the pizza. The sausage taste like cheap breakfast sausage very bland. This is a must do when you're in Vegas! Such a nice reprieve from the standard big Vegas show; intimate setting and a straightforward comedy show. Grab a cheap seat to balance all the money you lost of stupid slots and expensive drinks and have yourself a super fun time. If it's a slow night you might even get lucky and get a seat a bit closer to the stage then what you paid for. (No guarantees but on a slow night like a Monday you have a good chance!). The service is prompt and friendly and the comics are super funny (they rotate). It's with the trip down to the Rio for sure. Really awesome show with great comedians. However, we chose to get the cheapest seats and my husband and I didn't even get to sit next to each other. We had to sit across from each other while we sat practically shoulder to shoulder with strangers. So I recommend paying the extras $10-$15 so that you get comfortable seating. read more

Last night my guy surprised me with a date night on the strip. He told me we were going to a comedy show and I was a little hesitant since I've actually never been to a comedy show EVER! Well I am proud to say I am a new fan of live comedy! We were seated near the front which was so fun to be a part of the action and interact with some of the comedians. I have literally never laughed so hard in my life. There were moments where I was in tears with some of the comedians. In total there were 5 different acts that went up and I couldn't even tell you how long the show lasted because I was so immersed into everyone's stand up routines. I cannot wait to come back for more and to see different acts! I am so so thrilled Vegas has this gem to see some amazing comedy! read more

What a fun night! We went to the 9pm Saturday show and really enjoyed it. Erik Rivera and Jeff Leach were both hilarious. Love going to LA to go to comedy shows but have found Las Vegas to be lacking other than touring comedians stopping in, unless you are looking for 'man and puppet' type comedy. You know what I mean. What a great show for a night out!! I've never been to one of the comedy cellars before, and it passed my expectations by far! They had about 5 different comedians do 15ish minute skits and they all had me dying! The service was great here to as well. There is a waitress that walks around to take your order for drinks or small bites and the customer service was great! Super quick and efficient. I've heard that they change the acts up every week so I definitely will be coming back! It's also located in the Rio which makes it nice because you can eat before hand in the casino and free parking!! read more

My girlfriend and I took a short break to Vegas and went to the Comedy Cellar at the Rio after attending the original venue in NYC. Slightly different vibe but they recreate the authentic feel with the interior design and the comedy was so on point it took me back to the Big Apple. Definitely try the roast chicken flatbread, it was really delicious. Drinks were pretty reasonable and the servers did a good job, maybe the venue could use a couple more staff to serve but it wasn't an awful wait. The acts all do 20 minute performances, and everyone of them were amazing. I'd seen Greer Barnes back in NYC and he was hilarious as always. My new stand out favourite of the night was a British guy called Jeff Leach. Guy had me crying in my seat, reminiscent of a young George Carlin, pretty raw, wonderfully inventive with some clever improvisation but always hilarious throughout. Will be checking to see if he has a special and watch out for him back in LA. Honestly was my best night out in Vegas so far and you should believe the hype. read more

Was in town for business, needed to unwind. I Really had a great time at the cellar tonight. Host was a lil corny but who doesn't love corney jokes? The comedians were impressive, they ranged from different topics and made it very relatable and of course non offensive, thats what stand up is about isn't it?? Wait, did I write "non offensive?" Uuughh no I take that back, they were "offensive" totally "offensive" Kathleen was great, Greer as well, great to see someone from my hometown in vegas! " A spanish dude married to a white girl" was funny, his "white people" jokes are hilarious. There was a "vegas magician" looking type of guy also, he was pretty cool. Actually my fav of the night. This was our second Las Vegas show we checked out over our Christmas vacation & thought it was a great choice! Jeff Leach definitely made the show though. He wasn't just a guy cracking jokes on stage about politics, feminism, and controversial topics. He came on and immediately had the crowd by having an entrance. A young Brit from LA with a charismatic personality and great fashion (which is relatable) helps, being extremely funny sealed the deal.
