But it was no warmer than 60 degrees on the main floor. Maybe colder. I get that it's 110 degrees outside but I'd rather be in that heat for three hours than freezing my freaking ass off. Fellow patrons were really friendly. I even made a friend during the show! For anyone with sensitive ears, the speakers are LOUD, so be sure to bring your ear protection. I loved the loud music, but my husband was suffering a bit. As per a usual dive bar, it is also smoky inside. Seafood Potato With Salad. Okay, this was the main event that drew me to this place but WOW, was I disappointed. It was literally a baked potato broiled with seafood and cheese. I expected much more flavor. For some reason, the cheese grits accompanying this dish had an unpleasantly pungent, foot-like aroma and taste that was not as noticeable in the Salmon dish, possibly attributed to the cheese blend? Their horn section is out of this world! Vargas and the Swank Set are like a '50s lounge act on speed...like Richard Cheese meets Freddie Mercury meets Willy Wonka. THAT awesome! Vargas is the most magnetic, energetic, wildly frenetic entertainer I have EVER seen...I can't believe he's not headlining his own lounge at one of the major casinos. He's THAT good -- really! If you get the chance...check him out! He's good as Bobby Darrin, but he's even better on his own with the Swank Set. Past venues have included the Suncoast, the Bootlegger Bistro and the Fontana Lounge at Bellagio... Imagine if our party of 4 sat in the middle and split their party of 2. Same difference. Management was apologetic but moved us to table 5. My issue is these are not the front row seats that we paid for and reserved & the venue was not first come first serve. The owner's wife refused to honor our reserved seats and made accommodations for the two women who sat in the middle of a 6 person couch. It would be one thing if our tickets didn't have a seat number.... We've been to this venue at least 6x before coming to Ikons of Rock for the first time. I couldn't even enjoy the show because the lack of hospitality really killed the vibe for me.
