Was visiting Vegas and thought I'd check out a comedy show that aligned with my traveling dates. Saw that this was the spot to go to, and got VIP tickets to one of their evening shows. Definitely plan to go early because the GPS will drop you off to the parking lot and then you will still have to walk another 10-15 minutes before you reach the venue. It's inside the Rio Hotel and you have to take the elevator to the fourth floor from the parking lot. The venue itself was hard for me to find inside and I even had to ask a few people for directions. Eventually, I reached there twenty minutes late but the woman who checked me in assured me that the show had just started. After being seated, I had a great time! Jimmy Kimmel was hosting the showcase and it was great seeing him live in person. It also didn't take the server too long to reach me for my order. I got nachos, some ginger beer, and had some great laughs :) The nachos were delicious! Highly recommend if you're in the area and just need some laughter therapy. read more

DONT LAUGH WHILE AT THIS VENUE. Local here 35 years. Trust me Go somewhere else. 3 of us Took my sister here for her 67 the b day after 3 weeks of planning. Went for a nice dinner first. Brandon the casino " manger" asked us to leave for laughing too loud.. we asked what the problem was and he said we were laughing too loud. Don't waste your time here .. I haven't been to too many comedy shows but this one was well worth it especially for how reasonable the price is for VIP seats! It was hubby's birthday last weekend & his aunt kindly treated us out to the show for his birthday. The place is small but packed ofc for a Saturday night. As we walked in, it was awesome to see a wall of so many photos of celebrities & other comedians that have visited here. There were 4 main comedians that performed that night & 1 comedian as an opening act. All 4 comedians were talented & hilarious in their own way. We laughed a lot & enjoyed watching the interaction between the comedians & some of audience that sat in the front row. I absolutely like that it's an adults only show & cell phones & cameras are strictly enforced. We noticed there was a bar to order food/drinks but wehad dinner prior to the show so we just ordered a cocktail & water during the show. It was expensive as expected but service was great & efficient. Parking is free if we would've drove but we took the Lyft instead in case we were going to stay out late & didn't want to drive. It's not just the first west coast outpost of famed Comedy Cellar -- it's the first location anywhere outside of NYC. Opened nearly seven years ago, the Vegas outpost has done a remarkable job matching the vibe of the West Village original. It looks nearly identical, but with some welcome upgrades: better acoustics, improved ventilation, and significantly more seating(#1). Instead of squeezing down a narrow basement staircase, one can take a relaxed stroll through The Rio's convention space and casino to get there. Upon entrance, folks familiar with the iconic NYC version will take delight in the brick walls, stained-glass signage, low ceilings, celebrity photo frames, and the cozy, underground feel. The lineup rotates regularly, but there's almost always a crowd forming prior to every show. Every performance features five headliner-level comics, and the quality is consistently solid--withthe occasional surprise guest appearance. There is a laugh focused, no-heckling policy, and phone use or talking during sets is strictly prohibited. Security does a decent job of enforcing this, thought it didn't entirely stop some audience chatter during my visit (#2). Service was efficient and not extremely pushy about enforcing any kind of a drink minimum. Drinks were understandably expensive, but I sipped my $8 bottle of Dasani like it was the last one on the planet. The $15 margarita was small'ish in which one would have to order a good amount to feel anything. (#3) The tickets are reasonably priced, typically ranging from $25 to $45 depending on the night. It's an adults-only venue and parking at the Rio is free. I feel the addition of the Comedy Cellar has injected new energy intot his off-Strip property and I can't wait to come back again. _____________ (#1) 300 seat capacity to be exact. That's awesome. What a great unique date night idea. Talent can always be hit or miss but we were lucky enough to share some tear inducing laughs the night we went. Our only gripe would have been the rundown Rio hotel the cellar is located in but the comics made up for it by clowning the hotel's decor. read more

We had a great time at the Comedy Cellar. We liked 2 of the 4 comedians, but that was OK, as not everyone's sense of humor is for everyone else. Our favorite was Chloe Hilliard. She was fantastic! We laughed so hard. The drinks were a decent price considering we were at an event. And the best part is that there was no drink minimum. The Rio (where the Comedy Cellar is located) is upsetting because nobody was in the casino! I don't know how they are making ends meet. I mean it was practically deserted. A group of my friends and I went to see a comedy show as a part of a bachelor's party event one night, and we paid for the VIP seats, which got us squarely up front, just inches away from the stage. This, of course, meant we got jokes cracked on us pretty much by each comedian that went on stage. And it was awesome!! Haha. Totally worth it!!! Hands down one of the best affordable, and funny comedy clubs in Vegas! We spontaneously popped into the Comedy Cellar on a Saturday night. No problem grabbing tickets from the box office and locals even get a discount. We walked right in and sat in the VIP section, which is just seating that is closer to the comedians. I think all three tiers of seating are good options and have great views of the stage as the venue is on the smaller side. Each section has a server that will bring your drinks. There is also a selection of bar bites to order from. As for the comedians, we were non stop laughing the whole hour and a half show. Host and four comedians were great! read more

If you ever take a trip to Vegas, bookmark this place and get tickets to a show. Of course there are always different acts every time but it seems like they always book really funny people. It is located at the Rio hotel and the place itself looks much older and semi run down but it's actually really nice and not too big. They have a bar before you go in so you can grab a drink or two. We sat vip so we were right in front of the stage. I'm always scared to sit in front because of getting in the spotlight. I had to use the bathroom so when I came back, I sure did get put in a joke lol! It was super funny and I had a ball. There were 4 acts and even the host was hilarious. One of the traveling comedians was the same guy as last year with some new material and some of the same jokes. Drink prices are outrageous (as are most places in Vegas). This place was one of the few bright spots in the run-down Rio Hotel and Casino. We love watching live comedy and enjoyed the comics here. We bought tickets a day before and had the VIP section, so we were close to the stage. It didn't get overly crowded for the early show so maybe we didn't need VIP, but it's good to know you're not way in the back. Some clubs have an odd layout which makes it hard to see. This was good. They do have a bar and prices were a bit high, but it's Vegas. At least they were a decent size though. I'd go here again for live comedy. read more

(The mans gotta pay bills somehow). It was the perfect end to our evening to be able to shake hands with the man who made me piss my pants. (Just kidding, maybe, not really). The Comedy Cellar is located in the Rio. If you're staying on the strip, it's a ~$15 Uber ride each way. There's a bouncer at the entrance and they use a metal detector wand. Not sure if that made me feel more or less safe. Once you can get past all that, the comedians here are amazing! Dustin Ybarra made the trip worth it. He was so impressive that the next day, I looked him up on YouTube and watched all of his stand up. It was funny the second (and third!) time around! read more

Very small club so don't be worried about getting a "good seat". Honestly, they're all good. If you're up front (first two rows) you're literally at the comedians "roast row" and they don't hold back. If you prefer to not get picked on or called all...opt for a seat further back.
