The interior looked traditional and elegant with tables located in the patio area. It's not a flashy place with modern finishes but is a place that aims to do home-style cooking inspired by Oaxaca. GUACAMOLE ($265 MXN) - this came with three different kinds of avocados at different sizes which was interesting. Some were mashed but some were sliced and in chunks. For some of them we could even eat the skin of the avocados, and it was good. 4/5 CELEBRATION MOLE CHICKEN THIGH ($360) - the chicken was tender and the mole was not too sweet or bitter which is a problem I have with other ones. The mole was also only made from chiles which was unique. 4/5 OAXACAN NATIVE TOMATOES ($370) - this is their popular "tomato salad" which is a must-get. Some were sweet, some were more tart, and some I had never heard of before. Seriously, I had never had tomatoes taste like that and I didn't know they could taste like that. The beet puree complemented but didn't overpower the tomatoes either. You can order a half or full order; we ordered half which was good for two people. This was absolutely delicious and so unique! 5/5 FRIED QUESADILLA ($290) - this was labeled a quesadilla but it looked closer to an empanada. This was really good and I liked the butter that it came with. 4.5/5 Note that the menu is small and it's not a kid or pet friendly restaurant. Their menu contains a lot of ingredients that aren't substitutable so beware before you come here. The service was great and our server explained each of the dishes in detail. Even though it's located in the city it's very serene with none of the outside noise. We had a great dinner and a good time.

This was one of our favorite restaurants we ate at during our trip to Oaxaca. Our favorites were tomato assortment dish and the confit pork rib, but loved everything on the menu and the entire ambiance of the restaurant. I loved seeing the tortillas get made. Thanks Levadura for such a wonderful experience!

Honestly, these times were when the taq wasn't even 1/4 full. I'm talking 6-8pm. The guys working are all so friendly and efficient. They work FAST. LOTS of street taco options with protein from res to puerco, and their al pastor comes with pina which is a nice lil treat. They're great for fast, cheap, and filling tacos. Oaxaca's taco game isn't that strong in my opinion, but Tacomer blows Roy's out of the water any day. Other than that, there's little left to be desired. There's one TV that plays anime. There's zero air flow, so honestly you get a lil bit of car exhaust and smoke from the grill while you dine. No frills, and honestly I'd go there again for how economico they are and the sweet guys!

They have a lot of things to choose from on the menu but the one thing that stood out to me was the few meat options. They had chorizo, pastor, chicken and chuleta and some other options but not very many. I had a sincronizada and I think it was a gringa? They were both actually pretty good, along with some Agua de Jamaica. The items I ordered came with cheese, pineapple and ham on the inside, an interesting combination. The service is also fairly quick and the workers are friendly. The only thing I would say I don't like about these places is that they're so humid when you sit inside lol. I feel like it's because of the giant grill they are using to make the food. But other than that, I liked my experience here and recommend it if you're looking for some decent tacos in Oaxaca.

From ordering without a menu, watching the son prepare our tlayuda outside on the sidewalk, to the enjoyment of the food...even had fun when my agua mineral spritzed all over! 75 Pesos for the tlayuda , three links of delicious chorizo and two bottles of water. I love the small (invisible during the day) restaurant with only 3 tables, if you come with a group they can but tables and chairs outside also. The family that runs it are very friendly and efficient. They cook the Tlayudas and meat outside and prepare them inside together with the tostadas (hard tacos with meat, cheese and vegetables). I personally love the Tlayudas with Quesillo. You can add tasajo (thin steak type meat) but the Tlayuda sencillo, so only cheese is more than enough for me. Of course with a nice refreshing drink, if you want they also have coffee and Champurrado (a drink that tastes like hot chocolate). The best thing of this place is that it's in the same street as the botanic garden/Santo Domingo church, it's pretty cheap and it's open daily from about 8pm to 1:30am.
