Well let's just say, I don't give out five stars lightly. Absolutely amazing food and cocktails!!…read moreOf course not everything was perfect, but near to it. To run through the evening courses let's start with the opening app and cocktail. The Chips & Dip, house made seasoned chips with a perfect Blue Cheese dip with caramelized shallots, I suggest ordering an extra cup of the dip as there are an abundance of chips. My first cocktail was perfect or shall we say a "Pear-Fect Manhattan". This play on the Manhattan had a hint of pear and was spirit forward. We continued the evening with two sharable plates, the first was the Tenderloin Steak Bites served with a perfect Wasabi Kimchi Sauce. As tender as it was, the steak could have used more seasoning or being marinated in that delicious sauce. The second sharable was the Chile Seared Shrimp, placed atop delicious Cheesy Grits, very yummy. The evening ended with the most amazing dessert and paired cocktail. By all means, do yourself a favor and indulge in the most decadent Butter Cake drizzled in a Bourbon Caramel Sauce paired with a Amaretto Sour cocktail. You wouldn't necessarily know it, but the White Rabbit nestled in this strip mall sets itself up with the ambiance as a high end establishment.

10/10--I would absolutely hire Smoking J's BBQ again…read more We hired John to cater a celebration of life, and he handled the event with incredible professionalism, compassion, and attention to detail. The food was incredible, but what impressed me most was his communication from start to finish. He customized our menu, even creating two new menu items to match our preferences. Before the event, he thought through every detail--from the best location for the trailer at our park rental to the most efficient way to serve the food and even the type of plates to use. Everything ran seamlessly because of his planning. The moment that stood out most was when he noticed one of our guests of honor hadn't had a chance to eat yet and personally brought him a plate. That level of thoughtfulness says everything about the kind of person he is. John is a genuinely good human who happens to make outstanding barbecue.

The fries were hot and fresh and seasoned well. They tasted good. Quick service and was good to see that as an option at the orchard along with other offerings available for the MEA week. I will definitely eat here again if they are at other festivals or places that I visit.

Great gyros on wheels - thumbs up!…read more It was a nice sunny spring day, the perfect weather to hit-up a new food truck. I caught up with Kevin and his food trailer in the parking lot of the Coborn's grocery store, Elk River. I got the traditional lamb gyro with a side of fried jalapeno poppers for a little extra zip. And I washed it down with a can of Pepsi. The food was all great. And it was served up fast & hot with a smile. I wouldn't hesitate to go back again. Thanks, Kevin! -Daddy Maxx Retro
