I scheduled the service. Two young kids showed up at my door. First they asked if they were cleaning the upstairs or downstairs ducts which they should have already known it was a full house appointment. Secondly, when I asked if they were going to follow NADCA protocol they both looked puzzled and said they didn't know anything about that. I made a phone call to SP & they told me they could follow the guidelines but I was not going to allow two young kids who were not qualified to do so, nor even knew what I was talking about, clean our system! I sent them on their merry way. After already spending almost $50K on a remediation I was not going to pay for them to spread further mold spores into our home. I am now scrambling to find a company that can do it in a timely manner. I could have already been on the books with someone else but they have wasted our time and set our clean up WAY behind schedule. Feel as if the owner thought he could pull one over on me, that I wouldn't know the difference, but little did he know I know a thing or two when it comes to mold/endotoxin remediation!!! I set up a few appointments with local roofing companies to get some estimates. With me only visiting for another week, I wanted to be there for the estimates. I explained to the companies that I called, my parents were elderly. They don't deal with stuff like that well and I wanted to be around to help. Only 2 companies understand the situation and agreed to come out ASAP. Out of the 2, Full Service Roofing was the only one who actually came out. The gentleman I met with understood I was trying help my parents and squeezed me in between appointments to make sure I was able to be there for the estimate. After coming back home, the parents ended up getting 2 more estimates weeks later. Those estimates were comparable with Full Service Roofing. My parents said the other 2 companies were extremely pushy. I'm not going to bash them by putting there names on here but one tried to tell my parents on if they didn't sign and give a deposit that day it could be months before they could do the job. I don't go for the pushy sales tactics and neither does Dad. Following some research on the company they ended up going with Full Service Roofing. On the 3 websites we checked they were rated really high and had great reviews. A manger came out to get the contract signed and take the deposit. He noticed my Marine Corps pictures and found out I was a Veteran. They ended up knocking a little more off the price and thanked my parents for my service. As you get older people tend to try to take advantage of you especially during times of need. I was worried someone would do this to them. Not the case here. The roof has since been installed and my parents said everything went better then expected. If there happy I'm happy.
