Those were some good mudbugs! The server was helpful in helping us decide. We got there early on a Thursday and got the 5# special which came with 2 potatoes and 2 corns. You can buy more sides if you want. Our first batch was very spicy, had the seasoning sprinkled on top. Not my favorite method, but oh well. The next round didn't have the spice on top and my husband found that more tolerable. I guess we'll order separate pounds next time LOL I like it when the cayenne makes my head itch! There's a bar area, several tvs around, and a great patio for outdoor seating. Being a crawfish place, it's super casual, and the place was packed by the time we finished. They have a lot of beers on tap and some in bottle too. I told them they should start an early happy hour, maybe 3-6pm, selling pints of draft for $5 and pounds of bugs no sides for $7... we'd definitely go!! As amazing as it was, we spent over $80 on 4 beers and 5# of crawfish and at that rate, it rivals what we spent at McAdoo's...yikes. Still, got my first fix of the season and I was pleased!

5 pounds of crawfish

We came to Comal Crawfish Company and had the BEST experience thanks to our server, Jorge! He was seriously amazing -- super attentive, constantly checking in on us, and always making sure our drinks were refilled without us even having to ask. He was so kind, knowledgeable about the menu, and just had such a welcoming, personable vibe that made the whole experience even better. He also told us about the specials for the day and made great recommendations. You can tell he really cares about his customers and takes pride in what he does. If you come here, definitely ask for Jorge -- he made our night!

Boudin egg rolls

I've been here a few times and I always enjoy it. They have the best crawfish I've had since moving to the New Braunfels area. The crawfish are always big, flavorful, and decently priced. This time I came, I tried the crawfish etouffee and it was not for me. The flavor wasn't bad and it's a good price, but the texture ruined it for me. It was very thick and chunky. I'm not sure if that's just how it's supposed to be, but I just know it wasn't for me. I would highly recommend getting the boudin egg rolls! The servers are always super sweet and attentive. The vibe is chill and layed back. I usually like to sit outside, but today it was too hot, so I sat inside. I still prefer their outside seating because it's quieter, but the inside is good for hot days.

Crawfish boil paired with a michelada
Hilda S.

Great crawfish boil! Took my dad since he's a fan of crawfish and enjoyed 5lbs. We ordered medium-spice and it was just right. Added the alligator sausage (yum!), mushrooms, corn and potatoes. Paired it with a michelada for a perfect Sunday Funday! There was a little of confusion with our table. My dad went inside and was told to choose a table. After waiting about 5 minutes, server came out with another couple and asked us to move. We did all that and then that couple moved to a different table. Another 5 minutes went by and two other groups came out. All those groups were served before us. If they can dial in outside service I would have given them 5 stars. Manager on duty was super nice and brought our doggies water.

Deliciously seasoned Peel & Eat Shrimp! Pay for a pound and get shorted, "noone will know", right?
Jennifer J.

I ordered 1 pound of peel & eat shrimp, mildly seasoned. The waiter gave me two cocktail sauces to go. I paid him for 1 pound of shrimp and tipped him $5.00. When I got the shrimp I asked him, "Can I get some garlic butter?" He replied, "That will be an extra fee. I can get you regular butter for no charge, though." I was a little perturbed that I had just spent $27 and some change and a garlic butter would require me to charge my card again for a minimal fee. I'm diabetic and this was supposed to be 16 ounces. (1 pound!) I returned home and had to weigh my portions. Only to find that they had shorted me over 1 ounce. The shrimp were well flavored, but go where you can get what you pay for, without them thinking you're trying to get too many free condiments.

Catfish, lightly mattered and delicious

We were at a loss as to where to find great Cajun food In New Braunfels. Found it!! We sat outside with excellent service. We will be back enjoy more.

Great seasoning!

Great service and great crawfish! The wait can be pretty long on the weekend so be prepared. I love brining my dog here when the weather is permitting.

Gumbo
Joe T.

Excellent food and service, and a great Cajun flavor (pun intended). Did a bowl of gumbo and a catfish basket, both on point. The Gumbo was perfect, just spicy enough to get the eyes and nose moist but not overpowering. The catfish was good, there was more than enough in tge "small basket, the large would have e been too much. I had Cajun fries for my side, didn't notice anything different from normal fries but there were way too many of them for one human to eat.

Zero crawfish in the crawfish etouffe. This was the $15 bowl that ended up in the trash. A disgrace to Cajun food.

What is price of crawfish going for?

I’m just curious to know what size shrimp cost $16.00 a pound & does someone peel them for you at that price?

Well, they are an easy peel shrimp that is already split and de-veined for you so they are practically almost peeled for you. But don't knock it until you have tried them we have people drive in from over an hour away just for our shrimp. They are…

The crawfish are perfectly cooked and just the right amount of spicy. We also tried the "Cajun Elotes" and Boudin Balls which were both slap your mamma good. Not a bar at all, they have canned beers and box wine ranging from $7-$13. Outside seating only so good for good weather days. Service was good. You would think at first glance between the ambiance and quality of food and customer service the experience that the tab would be cheaper but I got two lbs of crawfish, a single drink and kids meal (no drink, they only have soda and charged $2 for a bottle of cheap off brand water) for $50. It was just me and my son. Update after owners response: either I got scammed by the waitress or they recently lowered drink prices. For clarification I asked for a burger and waitress told me the only option available was the grilled cheese which was not worth $8 in my opinion.

Unfortunately, our experience did not meet those expectations. Upon checking in, we were initially directed to a table that had not been cleaned. When my boyfriend politely asked if we could be seated at a booth that was currently being cleared, the host initially agreed. However, she then seated two other guests, who were white and had arrived after us at that same booth. Given the circumstances and the subsequent request to wait for a different table, this incident opened our eyes to potential racial bias, and we felt it was best to leave and dine elsewhere. I believe your host staff would benefit from additional training regarding equitable service and professional conduct. It is truly a shame that our visit was handled in this manner, as we had hoped for a much more welcoming evening. I wanted to bring this to your attention in the hope that it helps improve your service for future guests.

I have chicken and sausage gumbo or seafood gumbo. it was out of this world rich and delicious. It was super spicy with a very thick roux. Absolutely terrible experience from start to finish…read more Our party of three was seated and immediately told the kitchen was extremely backed up. Not a problem but we then waited 30+ minutes just for an appetizer. While waiting, I purchased shots directly from the bar and brought them back to our table. Shortly after, a staff member approached our table and asked to see one of our guest's IDs, apparently questioning his age. He provided his ID without issue and was confirmed to be 24 years old. Not long after that, another member of our party attempted to order an additional round of shots since we had been waiting 45 minutes by now for our entrées and was told he was being cut off for being intoxicated. This made absolutely no sense considering 2 of us had only consumed one beer and the 3 of us had one shot each. No one was causing a disturbance, slurring words, or acting intoxicated. The entire situation felt hostile, unprofessional, and completely unnecessary. Between the excessive wait times, poor service, being questioned after legally purchasing drinks, and then being accused of intoxication with virtually no alcohol consumed, our experience was ruined. It was evident that our waitress was butt hurt that we bypassed her and went straight to the bar for shots instead of her making that tip of a couple dollars off of that individual tab. We paid for what we had received and left before our entrées even arrived. I've never felt so unwelcome in a restaurant. There are far too many good places to spend your money to tolerate this level of service and treatment. I will never return and cannot recommend this establishment to anyone.
