I had a really bad experience with one of the newest waiters there last week. He was extremely rude. Arguing with me. He's the Latino young man with tattoos. He Ignored me several times while looking at photos on customers phones. I waited a while after he took my order but noticed he wasn't bringing the salad so I tried to get his attention. He looked at me three times and chose to ignore me while he stood there just talking to other customers and looking at photos. He finally walks by and goes directly to a register and then says loudly from the register that he's busy and has a lot to do. He'll be right with me. Mind you, he's not at my table saying this he's saying this loudly from the register and everyone hears him. I say nicely, I just wanted to remind you to bring the salad before the entree. I had already told him to do this when he took the order. Don't know if he said the following to make up for being loud and rude but then he says, Well he's the one that has to make it so it will take some time but just know that he is going to get it. I said ok and wondered why he's giving me all this information. Don't Also When he takes the order he doesn't even greet me elderly mom. We wait a long time again as he's walking all the diner. Goes in the kitchen several times and still no salad and then I remember about the parasite stomach virus so I rush toward the counter where the kitchen is to cancel or change the salad by then he's walking out and says loudly you were coming over here to complain right. I'm in shock like what is going on. I tell him the reason and then when I sit he starts debating with me and saying nothing is wrong with the salad, it's a good batch of lettuce. He then says and he cannot return it to the kitchen. He will pack it for me to go. I tell him I'm not going to go back and forth with him about this and then I hear two men at another table saying, "now the waiter is arguing with her". Suddenly the waiter changes his attitude and says, would you like me to remove the lettuce and change the salad and rearrange it. I say yes. By then I'm just so upset. I just wanted to have a nice brunch with my mom. Another worker who knows me from eating there often came over to ask how I and my mom were doing. I said not so good. I just want a different waiter. I then call over the manager and explained to him what was happening after the waiter brought out the smaller salad. As I'm explaining to him the waiter comes over to that same register as though he's eavesdropping and then he walks over and loudly says so What's happening? What's happening? Talk to me. Talk to me. By then, I'm so frustrated I tell him to back away from the table. My mom is just sitting there like what is going on. I would have gotten up and moved to another table to have a different waiter or waitress, but my mother uses a cane and she moves very slowly. I received no apology from the waiter or the manager but the manager did go over to the waiter and say something to him and then he started speaking in Spanish from there on the waiter was polite as we were getting ready to exit because I did tell him to back away. I did not want to speak to him. I just wanted to finish my meal and enjoy my time with my mom and get out of there. The only reason I rated a 4 star because I truly love going to this diner and have never had this happen before. It's such a family/community diner but that waiter needs serious customer service training or he needs to lose his job because if he stays there they're definitely going to lose more customers. I don't know what his problem was. I remember him waiting on me and my mom several months ago. Maybe he didn't get the tip he wanted. Maybe if you don't tip this guy 30%, he's going to treat you like trash. Concerned customer. read more

It's a mainstay. Been around since I was a kid. It used to be across the street in a stainless steel iconic diner style building from a bygone era and they took over the former Roy Rogers after an extensive renovation. Ita now updated and a new generation has taken over. The employees have been around for many years and as new ones come- they are trained to provide the same great service and food. I came the this diner for the first time on Friday Jan 24. I have lived in the area over 40 years. I have driven past multiple times. And I will say I have been missing out. The breakfast was good and cooked perfectly for me. Corned beef hash with cheddar grits and over easy eggs. The coffee was good and strong. The service was the epitome of guaranteeing a great customer experience. My server was Cruz. He was attentive, funny and just genuinely kind. He helped me with my mother who has limited mobility. We walked in on early Saturday morning and this place was just OK. Nothing crazy to really say much about. At first we walked in and we were cold, he wasn't on and I think after someone finally complained about it then we started feeling it. The food was delivered on time at all but it was just plain and basic. I wouldn't return here, there's nothing that's gonna suck your taste buds on fire. Just had lunch with my mom at the diner. I was a bit disappointed this time. I've been here several times and the food had always been good. Today my mom had the Oxtails with Rice which I should have order because it was good. I especially liked the sauce that they were cooked in. We chose this diner today because I had a taste for Meatloaf something that I hadn't had in about two years. I was disappointed because it was so bland, definitely needed some seasoning. We had often gone to this diner in the past and were always happy with both the service and the food. However, recently, there has been a marked change in both. The last time we were there, about a month ago, we were somewhat disappointed with the service and the food. However, we thought it was just a glitch. This time, it was awful! We got there at 11Ú05 a.m. and were seated pretty quickly. We then sat for a half hour waiting for a server to take our order. At 12:00, I went to the man who appeared to be a manager to ask if there was a problem. He became very defensive and told me we had just gotten there. When the eggs finally came, they were cold, the blueberries were still half frozen. The BLT was specifically requested without mayo but came with mayo and was returned uneaten. The bill came with a charge for the BLT and when the adjustment was requested, it was given reluctantly complaining there was nothing wrong with it. To add to the whole picture, the adjustment was fro $3 less than the price. They lost five customers!!!! read more

Love this diner. It's right near my home so it's always a quick and convenient stop. Food is always good. Whether for breakfast , lunch or dinner. I've been for any time. Also never long waits or too crowded. I've ordered ahead and food is always ready in about 10/15 mins ready for pick up. Prices are great. Good size portions. The food isn't as good as it used to be. The cook changed the recipe on the Eggplant Rollitini. He put sausage instead of ricotta cheese inside the eggplant. It was disgusting. My friend and I recently went for Thanksgiving lunch and the cook used mostly rice in the stuffing instead of the usual stuffing bread mix. I actually got sick from the turkey and stuffing. The cranberry sauce amount added up to a teaspoon. The soup wasn't so good either. It was either cream of turkey or pasta soup. A salad was another choice. A candied yam was included.The dessert was pumpkin pie. Coffee or tea was the beverage. This meal was not worth $29.99. This meal was the last straw for us. We're never going back here. read more

We visited the Columbus Diner today for the second time and I realize my initial 5-Star review came mostly from Martha, our favorite server. We went in for breakfast today and were instantly greeted by the host. We asked to be seated in Martha's section but she had no tables available. Our server came to our table right away and took our order. We waited about 10 min for our meals to arrive. Throughout the meal our server seemed nowhere to be found. He didn't check in on us and our bus boy had to refill our waters. What I was most disappointed in was that the sausages, which I adored last visit, were undercooked and full of bones. Every other bite I hit hard into a hard bone - luckily I didn't break a tooth. Maybe just a bad batch? Both links were terrible. We waited about 10 minutes after we finished to get our check - again the waiter just wasn't around. It will take a lot to get me to order the sausages again. My favorite breakfast food. I came here for the first time with the family to have a nice lunch and was delighted with good food. The food took quite a while to arrive but we were in good conversation to slow the time. I ordered the grilled chicken wrap with avocado and and strawberry milkshake to wash it down. Sorry, I don't have any pics because dad in law gets upset when phones are out while we eat lol. The wrap tasted very good but it was missing most of the avocados. I found a couple pieces towards the end of the halves. My milkshake was just a vanilla shake with strawberry syrup or powder mix. This used to be my favorite diner to frequent until today's experience. My Husband and I went to the diner this afternoon for food and sangria. The busboy spilled an entire tray of ice cold water in my husbands lap, his response was "omg I'm so sorry i can't believe this happened AGAIN" . We ordered waffles and they came out completely cold, and we ordered sangrias and were brought out mimosas, then had to wait 20 more minutes for our correct drink . When all of this was brought to Management we were met with racism , disrespect, and hostility by the owners. We were asked "what would you like me to do? Bend over?" I've never felt so disrespected by the owners of an establishment in my life. I can't believe my most favorite place to grab a bite to eat at is ran by such racist unprofessional people.. He told my husband he would knock him out , and continued to disrespect him as he stood there with water dripping off his pants . His suggestion was "go use the dryer in the bathroom, no big deal". If i could give this place zero stars i would. I won't be returning to this establishment, and i certainly won't be giving my money to a bunch of racist owners who don't care about us! read more

Any diner I frequent, I almost always order an omelet. With that said, I've had a a lot of omelets in my day. The one I received at Columbus Diner was the best I've ever had. The egg well cooked; meat was well seasoned. The home fries were to die for with bits of onion in the mix to give it extra flavor. Absolutely perfect. Our waitress, whom I forgot her name; my apologies, was so sweet and friendly. She really made us feel welcome and taken care of. I give this Diner a qualified 4 rating. Due to the pandemic we don't eat in anywhere so I cannot attest to the service or time from order to table. What I can attest to is the pickup service. I make an order o line or over the phone. It is a 10-15 minute drive to the diner from my house. When I get there the food is always ready. I have seen both staff and customers wearing masks while not eating. We mainly order typical breakfast items and the food is always delicious it is what I would expect for a diner. We have been very satisfied with what we get and will likely visit in person when we feel comfortable eating in public again. read more
