It was a small winery so I wasn't sure what to expect but I met the guy running place and found out a little about his family legacy so after that I was sold! I can always go and buys a nice bottle of wine but I will definitely always be a fan of a wine that has history and know what it took to make! Go experience it for yourself and enjoy the entire history of their wine , you'll be amazed how much they are a part of OR state and still enjoy their journey

Located right on 2nd Street in The Dalles, it's a great place to stop if you're wandering the various tasting rooms and bare pubs in the area. Since it was my first time here, I did the flight. The first wine, the Locomotive, had me with the very light taste with hints of honey and papaya. Not one to typically drink whites, I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. On a warm or even hot day, this would be perfect. As I made my way through the tasting, I found that I was enjoying several of their wines. The High Tension, their club favorite, was a full bodied blend of Syrah, Merlot and Barbera. A perfect everyday drinking wine And good for parties where you need a wine that pleases many palettes. The other standout for me was the Barbera. Very smooth, full body and slightly jammy. Since I'm in a Barbera club at Cascade Cliffs, I left with the Locomotive. I'm looking forward to a warm spring day to sit in my deck and enjoy with friends. The tasting room inside is small and simple. A picnic tables and seats out in the paved area out front, nice on a sunny day. I'll definitely be back.

Located in the high desert area of The Gorge, COR Cellars is a beautiful and serene setting. There…read moreare several seating areas: a large patio surrounding a garden of native plants with chairs and couches around the perimeter; Adirondack chairs near the vineyard overlooking the grasses and hills; indoors next to a fireplace with sweeping views of the property; and even private tents up on the hill. We were thrilled to be there on one of the first sunny days in a very rainy 2022 Spring, so we sat on the sunny patio with the bright blue skies and native plants as the backdrop. We were greeted with a glass of Cab Franc Rose, which I had never had before, and we both really enjoyed it. We selected the flight since it was our first time having COR wine and we wanted a variety. The flight arrives in a tin bucket with individual carafes of each pour. There were four plus a complimentary pour, so three whites and two reds. Of the whites, the Cab Fran Rose remained my fave and I also enjoyed the Pinot Gris which was crisp and light. I'm a fan of big, bold reds but because of the sun, the red wines got so hot that we couldn't drink them which was really unfortunate. They did include a small bag of ice in the bucket to keep the wines cool but it was no match for the sun. Next time, even if I am tempted by the sun, I will select a seating area in the shade so we can enjoy all of the wines in the tasting. To round out our experience, we ordered the charcuterie for $35. COR continues to be very careful with Covid protocols so the charcuterie is a kit that you put together. Olympic Provisions salami, a box of hearty crackers, Marcona almonds and casteveltrano olives in mason jars, and a soft cheese were provided; all delicious. Service was warm and friendly, they answered our questions thoroughly. Some customers like to have the staff pour each taste and explain the wine; at COR you pour your own and info on the wines is provided on a card. I prefer it this way so I can drink at my speed and our conversation isn't continuously interrupted with a description of the next wine. Everyone has their own preference but this style works for me. Will definitely be back!

The wines I tasted were quite delicious, my favorite being a Cab Franc blend. After my tasting, i enjoyed a full glass. They offer a wonderful selection of food to accompany the wine, the charcuterie board has high quality meats, cheese, olives and a baguette. Enough for four. On weekends when the adjoining food hut is open, try whatever they are making! Tamales, tacos, sliders - you can't go wrong. Plenty of seating areas available to accommodate couples or groups. Inside there are views everywhere you look. The covered patio on the side is peaceful and serene, great on a warm day and provides shade during the super hot summer. Kids and dogs welcome! Small 2 man operation and it shows in the warm hospitality And friendly service. The owners have lots of chickens so you will often find beautiful fresh eggs for sale right at the bar. Pick up a dozen and some bottles to bring home!

This weekend we got around to investing more time in the trails of Butte and it was pretty fun. The trails don't allow for a complete loop around the rock, as there's a block for restoration on the east side. But you can wander most of the way around the water side...up and around the rocks is really where's it at though. There are 3 access points to the top from the trails, and the bouldering up is loads of fun. Once atop you can roam all about and enjoy fabulous views from every angle. While the remainder of the trails at Butte are average, we found it pretty entertaining to climb around the rock portion. There's a decent amount of parking...Discover Pass required...as well at a vault toilet at the trailhead.
