Very old property, my room was very clean and tidy. Everything worked as expected. Great value and a view of the Columbia River

The room had no heating, the toilet leaked onto floor when flushed and we were too exhausted to walk down to office and demand a functional room after a very long drive day. Nice and clean - does the trick. Bed was comfortable and air conditioning was loud but effective. Wifi was surprisingly fast - recommended!

We spent the night during Memorial Day weekend. It was ok. Not well manned. There was a rain storm at 11pm. We had a big leak in the ceiling. Nobody answered the phone or the doorbell. At First I Was Afraid, I Was Petrified! I won tickets to Natalie Merchant out at Mary Hill and knowing I would be drinking some of their fine wine, we decided to find an inexpensive place to stay near Mary Hill rather than make the 2 hour drive back home. We had to head back to Portland early the next day so we just needed a cheap place to lay our drunken heads for a few hours. I called around and found Dinty's Motor Inn. Rate was only $60 a night. Okay, the name frightened me a bit. "Dinty's Motor Inn" does not conjure up an image of a clean or posh place by any stretch. C'mon, don't ya think of a can of beef stew? We checked into this place that looked pretty sketchy from the outside. The woman who checked us in said "Don't worry about the guys sitting out front in the room next to you, they are harmless." We grabbed our key and headed for our room. Upon opening the door, we were pleasantly surprised not to see cock roaches scurrying for cover. Quite the opposite! Nice big room with two queen beds, a mini frigerator, cable tv (not that we used it but it is there if you want it) and a view of The Gorge out the window! This place isn't fancy. The rooms have the obligatory floral bed spreads with seemingly matching "art" in the same pink/green shades along with tree green carpet. It is, however, very comfortable, clean and well located for a concert at Mary Hill and I would rest my head there again without hesitation! great room for the price! As a side note, after the concert we had a great time sitting outside and chatting with the drunk red neck boys from Soda Springs, ID after the concert! read more

We really loved staying here many years ago, until one night when they were all booked up and I had requested a single room. We had brought our dogs, but because they were full up, we left them in the car (it was cool weather, and we had a Subaru) and settled for a more expensive room that they had available at the time. I had always purchased my rooms on Priceline until this place, so never realized that double occupancy wasn't immediate here- but then it never came up when I booked before. Anyway, despite having enjoyed the stay here when we DID stay out here, the next time I called to book a room, the woman who works the office goes "Oh, are you planning to bring your dogs and your little girlfriend too?".... I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt and say that she wasn't being a homophobe. That no bigotry was implied in the demeanor in which she said that. I began to tell her that we kept our dogs in the car, and then before continuing any further, said "Never mind." and hung up. It would be one thing to say "Oh, hey we noticed last time that you had dogs with you, and while they weren't in the room, it is policy... etc." and "We noticed on your last visit that you had a companion with you- we charge extra for this" or "We need to know if your booking for double occupancy". ... even though they were selling me a more expensive room... That could have also been taken into consideration when she got indignant and... well... horrid, over the phone. This motel would have had a very VERY regular customer had they not treated us POORLY. We come down 84 at least once a week to Yakima, Pendleton, La Grande, Hermiston, and Tri Cities. We looked forward to staying in a little overnight getaway on the river now and again, and would have certainly given them business, but they annihilated any chance of us ever returning with the utter rudeness and the particularly unsettling tone she used when she said "Your little girlfriend." It made me want to stay as far away from rural Oregon as possible, and we love checking out quiet little "along-the-way" places and giving business to small companies. Lesson learned. read more

Nice little motel. As the pictures show, the rooms/furniture look a little dated but are clean and in good shape. Beds are comfortable. Compared to the free WiFi that is unusable slow at hotels that I've paid literally 3x more than this place, this free WiFi is actually fast. Super nice owners that makes your stay at this otherwise average motel an above average experience. The rate was more than reasonable for a single king bed during the busy summer season (it was actually the least expensive room within many miles). Linda's restaurant across the street has good food to eat while you're here. Bottom line: rated 5 stars even though this is not a 4-star hotel, but you don't pay anywhere near 4-star prices. Worth every penny and the awesome owners make it even better. I would absolutely stay here again. read more

Enjoyed our stay here. Clean room with a great view and a great price! What more could you ask for! I would have given 5 stars except they don't put shampoo in your room. I didn't find his out until I was getting in the shower. They want you to go to the lobby to grab shampoo! Kind of dumb. read more

This motel was clean and had a view of the river which was a nice surprise. The cost was very reasonable, especially when you consider that the Wi-fi was fast/free and they had HBO as well. The downside was the A/C unit tended to cycle on/off quite quickly and was loud. The receptionist lady was very nice and friendly. This was appreciated! read more

Dinty's Motor Inn is the place to stay when traveling through Biggs Junction OR. I was so tired from driving I just wanted to sleep. The staff is a true sample of exellent hospitality. The rooms are exceptionally clean and comfortable with internet and cable/HBO. I had a beautiful view of the Columbia River and Sam Hill Bridge from my window that was so piecefull and made my stay all the better. I would definitely recommend this place to everybody. Thank you for going that extra step. I will stay here again. read more

I just stayed 3 days here. I think the value was exceptional and the room was clean and the view was nice to . I am an over the road truck driver and had the Memorial Day weekend off here so I choose to stay in room here. Clean and comfortable. The little lady that checked me in was very nice and helpful as well. I would recommend this place . And they are pet friendly. read more

If everything had worked correctly, I would have given them five stars for the nice room at a low cost. However... We were on a road trip and went to see the Maryhill Museum and Stonehenge replica and wanted a place to keep our dog out of the heat. I had looked at the reviews and thought I'd give this place a shot. At first they said both of their dog rooms were taken, but while I was trying to call other places a very nice woman came out and said that we could have a different room if our dog was small and wouldn't pee on the carpet. I really wanted to like this place. The room looked nice, $65 for the night for me, my two kids, and our dog, which made it seem like a great bargain for the quality. However, when we got back to the room after Stonehenge, we found that one corner of my queen size bed was broken. I asked the man to bring something to prop it up and I didn't really care about that. I also wanted him to help me with the air conditioner, which I thought I just couldn't figure out. It turned out that it wasn't me. It either had to be on full blast, or off. It was 110 that afternoon, so we had it on until we all got too cold and then had to alternate between having it on and turning it off every 10 minutes. I started to wonder if that was why they gave us the room. Overall, it was a nice room and a comfortable place, with nice staff. If the air conditioner had worked, I would have been completely happy. read more

I can't say enough about how great Dintys had been. We woke up and had a flat tire on our trailer. They are letting us stay late and have helped when our road side assistance from Giego failed us miserably. The room is clean, staff friendly and over all a great place to stay. read more

We were recently stuck in Biggs over night , short on cash. Dintys was the only motel willing to take a credit card over the phone. Very nice, clean room. Staff was very courteous, and professional.Would recommend them to anyone and will be staying there again. read more

I reserved a room here with a phone call before I left my home in California on my motorcycle. When I finally rode up to Dinty's Motor Inn, I nearly changed my mind about staying there, due to the low-class appearance of the exterior. But I was glad that I took the chance and got a room. Inside, there was fresh paint and new appliances. There was a remote-controlled air conditioner that worked well. There was a nice TV, a fridge, and a microwave. There was no hair drier, though. The free wi-fi internet worked fine. The bed was comfortable. The staff, manager Tom and his wife, were helpful and courteous. There was no coffee in the room or the lobby, and no breakfast. But Tom gave me free coupons for free coffee in the nearby Dinty's Convenience Mart. Biggs Junction is just that--a freeway junction. It's kind of a truck stop/gas station hamlet. Dining choices are McDonalds or various mini-marts or Linda's Restaurant, which serves average food. I was pleasantly surprised at what a nice place and what a good deal Dinty's Motor Inn was; I paid only $45 for the room. read more

This place is great to crash. Not somewhere you'd want to spend a lot of time but was very clean. Actually probably one of the cleanest motels I've ever stayed in. The decor and carpet are old, but it's what you would expect for the price. We checked in at 3am and the guy was very friendly after just waking up to give us our room.There was no coffee maker which was a bummer for us since we bring our own coffee and grinder. They did have a hair dyer and tv and free wi-fi. the bed was comfortable, but be careful with the shower. The light curtain blows in towards you so I pushed it out (dumb idea) thinking the floor mat would catch the water....well the water pressure is explosive (seriously gave me an awesome back massage) and when I was done the bathroom floor was completely flooded. No damage done after about 6 ringings of all the towels provided to clean it up. I'm sure you'll be smarter than I was. We checked out late and they only charged us for one night. Would go there again if I needed to. Great family run motel for $55. read more

Such a pleasant find on a TIRED drive. Unremarkable in a good way, quite clean though dated, comfortable beds, quiet despite nearness to road, delicious hot shower. Gas right there to get going the next morning. Felt surprised and fortunate to find such a good, clean, uncomplicated sleep.
