They have been around since 1988. Although it wasn't his cup of tea for a skate board shop,they had what he needed. J said that the guys were really nice and they probably were had I not been so impatient that night, I probably would have talked them up too. They asked J if I was mad because it was taking so long and I looked huffy, but I'm sure they get a lot of wives in there who get impatient waiting. J's reply, "nah she just looks mean". Giving it a 4 based on the end result of the long board, the guys were really great per J and the fact that they did it so close to closing time. I may have to return to experience more of it through my own eyes. What I did see warrants a 4.

So I decided to look for a pair or two of shoes that combined formality with a comfortable sole. I discovered the OriginalGrands and ZeroGrands on Cole Haan's website. Unsure of proper size and general fit, I ventured out to the Edina store, where I was helped by a wonderful salesperson named Sarah. She helped me find the right size and I chose two pair, neither of which the Edina store had in stock. Sarah ordered them for me (this on a Sunday) and I received them the following Wednesday. Wow, fantastic customer service from start to finish. After some sharpening of my views on what was most comfortable for me, I've ended up with two pair of ZEROGRAND Stitchlite Wingtip Oxfords, which may be the most comfortable "dress" shoes I've ever owned. Now I would guess most of their business is in upscale casual and outdoor clothing for men and women. Orvis still makes very nice fly fishing equipment - my first really nice fly rod was made by Orvis. This particular store has a convenient location with lots of parking. They have never been particularly busy when I have been in and the staff has always been friendly. Their products are high quality - no fast fashion cheaply made goods here. Orvis has a nice online catalogue so you can get an idea of what is available and they can order it if it is not in stock. I have a soft spot in my heart for Orvis and wish them well.

I'm new to discovering The Trailhead at Theodore Wirth Regional Park, but believe me when I say I'll be back many more time. In the winter, they offer cross-country skiing and lessons. (You can rent a full set of gear for about $30- no need to have your own to experience skiing! They also have à la carte options for cheaper if you only need poles or boots, etc.) Besides skiing, outdoor winter activities also include snow tubing, snowboarding, snowshoeing.... You name it. (I haven't been in fall or summer yet, but I also hear great things about their mountain biking and trail running options.) Inside The Trailhead, there's food and drink concessions, ample seating, lockers, bathrooms, and even rooms for rent. The last time I was there, a family was hosting a young child's birthday party in the multi-purpose room. Altogether, there is an amazing assortment of services here to come and check out. Can't wait for next ski season!
