Found Mark to do a new Concrete pad for my front porch in South Lake Tahoe- wanted someone who knew elevation, all weather types including freezing and snow AND who covers the South Lake Tahoe... and I found him! Mark did an amazing job on my porch. He worked it into my time frame that I wanted it done. He removed the old porch (cleaned it up good!), reccomended we replace the old pillars and even took care of those for me. He set up and cleaned and took care of everything for me. He stamped the top and even stamped the sides to give it an even more custom look. Communication was good and prices fair. He even sent me pics during the project...Great work! Mark is amazing and patient! The walkways and patio pads are gorgeous! I couldn't have found anyone who could have done a better job. I have had many sidewalks and patios put in over the years and I have yet to have someone do a better job than Mark. Fantastic work. A few key notes. 1) I looked for a concrete contractor in South Lake Tahoe for several months. No serious responses from local construction companies in my area. When I found Mark, we agreed on price and he showed up 2 days later, finished the job well in 2 days. He traveled several hours to do the job as well. 2) From what we discussed initially, Mark came out and was super flexible and made some solid recommendations which I accepted. He didn't charge anything extra for those items. 3) After Mark started, I finally got a response from a local company. One of the notes on Mark's website talks about his cost maybe being higher due to higher quality concrete (7000 psi) and construction. The quote from the competitor was inline with Mark, for lower density concrete, and was pretty unprofessional. So I didn't find that to be true. read more

Mark was the only one who took the time draw up some sketches and offer design options to help some money but still give us a great end result. read more

Colossal Concrete's work is attractive and well engineered. And, with over 20 years as concrete specialists, they made recommendations so that we won't have to do repairs again. They remodeled our uneven cement stairs, replaced and reinforced the damaged driveway, and packed with fill the low spots in our gravel parking area. Mark and his crew at Colossal Concrete did a huge concrete job for me in Big Bear CA.  The total amount of concrete was over 5,200 square feet and they did an outstanding job!  The project included stairs, walkways, a driveway and two retaining walls.  Because of the size of the job it took over six weeks to complete and Mark and his guys were extremely hard working and professional the entire time.  Mark also offered multiple suggestions that helped me decide on several options such as different elevations, concrete finishes and drains.  I would highly recommend Mark and his crew for any concrete job that may have in the future.  You won't be disappointed! read more

He refused to carry out his own contract. He reviewed the plans on file with the city; he came out to the property twice for measurements; I accepted his bid of approximately $5000.00; he insisted that I sign his contract and required that I give him a check as a down payment. After I did everything he demanded, he called and said he wanted to double the price to $10,000.00 to do the job and claimed he did not understand what the job entailed and he wanted me to hire him for additional work for another $10,000.00. So either he doesn't know how to read plans, doesn't know how to measure or he was just trying to boost up the price. The only reason for one star instead on none is that at least he pulled this before starting on the work rather than in the middle of the job. read more
