She explained because it's not her space she would need also additional time to setup. This didn't include sweeping up or moving the hair on the floor. Sure it's not her space but she didn't acknowledge it in anyway. She didn't even have me saved as the right client leading to confusion on both ends Extremely condescending and rude. I am 5'10 she informed me because my legs were long it was making her job challenging. She told me the dark circles under my eyes were very noticeable and hard to hide. She got makeup in both of my eyes and informed me because I don't regularly wear makeup this was because of my eyes Despite this I was willing to go with her. However I didn't get back to her within 48 hours. Stated no where. And she never followed up with me leading to last minute confusion on my end assuming having already paid her for a trial would encourage some professionalism in a courtesy follow up. Wedding planning is stressful! Additionally in our last conversation after she informed me she likely couldn't do the makeup. She asked where I was planning on getting ready for my wedding. I told her the salon. She then went on to disparage their space as it doesn't even have the table space she would need to do her work. I thankfully was able to find a nicer and actually warm artist and had an amazing wedding.

There are two main components I think are important to emphasize about her work- her makeup skills, and her energy. Regarding makeup - our initial trial was thorough and very detailed. Maria was willing to work through all my likes/dislikes, answer all my and my moms questions about the process. I was adamant that even though I was putting together an Indian wedding with heavy outfits, I wanted all my makeup looks to be as natural and timeless as possible with elements of fun. Maria delivered on all of these requests, which included numerous rounds of trying different eyelash strips/lipstick colors/eyeliner shades and texting inspo pics and was always helpful and patient. I was so bummed I had to wash my face at the end of both days I had my makeup done by her! Regarding energy- Maria brought fun, lighthearted and genuine vibes that my entire family and I appreciated. Maria's ability to both keep light conversations while maintaining awareness of sensitive moments was such a gift that truly helped me enjoy the moment instead of being caught up in details. No questions about it, book Maria!!

Her space was warm, clean & quiet, & I felt welcomed when I arrived. We started with her drawing out what she wanted to do to my brows & after a quick look over, I loved what she created. Once we began the needling she checked in with me often on how I was doing & my pain level. After we finished the first run through, she had me look my brows over and we discussed what I wanted to slight adjust - that being said I was already in love with them. Once finished, I loved the look of my final brows. She truly is an expert at what she does & I would highly recommend anyone looking for a brow upgrade :)

I had my first session with Jeanne back in February and I had a great session with her! Not only was Jeanne patient and understanding, but she's also extremely friendly and personable. I also appreciated Jeanne's honesty in letting me know that she felt my previous brows didn't frame my face well, and together, we worked together to draw brows that complimented my face much better! This goes to show how much she cares about her clients and wants to make sure you are getting your money's worth for her services. I also took a makeup class with Jeanne yesterday (along with my cousin)! This was such a fun and interactive class where Jeanne took the time to explain to us which products worked well with our skin properties, had us practice and apply products on our own and we left the class feeling happy and inspired by an everyday look that we can now use on a daily basis. My cousin and I have very different facial features yet Jeanne dedicated time for both of us, ensuring that our questions were answered and that we were applying the methods correctly. I can't say enough great things about Jeanne! She is truly knowledgeable, friendly and cares about her clients. I highly recommend her for brows and makeup (whether it's a class or session)! Thank you Jeanne unnie :)

I have always been extra sensitive when it came to physical touch. I could never get a massage because I was too ticklish and the feeling of knots on my body made me cringe! A few years ago,  I booked a massage with @skinbybrittany__ . She knew my situation and let me know that if at any point I started to feel uncomfortable,  we could stop.   She was the most gentle and most professional massage therapist I have ever encountered!   She literally took away my fear of massages (crazy enough, it really was a fear of mine). There are so many great things to say about Liza - for starters, she was so patient with all of my…read morerequests and was able to help me find a balance between two totally different styles - I wanted heavy, contoured, modern glam (all about that defined brow and matte lip) BUT ALSO a soft, whimsical look because we were getting married in a forest! Impossible right?? She did such a great job of helping me find this look! Her opinions and advice were embraced and I even made a change to my lip color right before she finished off my whole look on the wedding day, and she remained cool, calm, and positive about it! Thank god because I was feeling all the wedding day anxiety. Now that I've had my makeup and hair done for several weddings, I wanted to note a couple things that she does differently which make her well worth your budget. She asks for photos of you with and without makeup prior to the trial (and hair naturally in a photo as well), and she does the same for your bridesmaids. This made me feel like she would be well-prepared for the wedding day for all the different skin tones and hair length that bridesmaids have, lowering the possibility to run short on time. She was also available throughout the year of planning, not just during the trial. I would email her photos and she would send some back, and I would send feedback about my trial look that I wanted to adjust after seeing the photos she took for me (hint - take photos and look at them a week or two later with fresh eyes). I noticed that she also took notes from our trial and had reviewed them on the wedding day - I haven't seen any other artist do this that I've worked with. This also helped with the time efficiency AND getting that look perfectly since the last time we had done the trial was months before. Trust me, you'll have Bride Brain no matter how organized you are and you can't have an artist who asks you what lip color it was that you had wanted. So glad she had the look all set to go and from there we went! I am so pleased with how my makeup turned out in my photos and lastly, she brought an assistant because I had so many bridesmaids and she was seriously incredible too. I LOVED my BM's makeup and hair (always a plus...haha)!

However, on the day of the photoshoot she arrived almost 20 minutes late then proceeded to take another 10-12 minutes to set up. Unfortunately, her tardiness meant she pushed my photoshoot back by 30 minutes. While I was pleased with the makeup results, I am unhappy with the experience because she did not apologize for being late that day or since. Her lateness meant I didn't have as much time for my photoshoot as I paid for. She shrugged it off, but why shouldn't she, she already received her payment and could care less about my photoshoot. She should call her business, "Scammed by Yvette". I sent her several emails to attempt to rectify the issue, but she ignored them and only responded when I threatened to escalate the matter to a dispute with my bank. I found Yvette through a web search, so if you are reading this to decide whether you should hire her or not, do yourself a favor and pass on this one. I should note, though she was LATE to my photoshoot I was nice enough to offer her a ride after the shoot to her destination AT NO COST TO HER!!!!!! To put that into context: She took a Lyft to the shoot and would have spent $20-$30 to get home. You would think she would remember that benevolence when I raised my concerns and attempt to solve it amicably.... NOPE! Instead she responded with finger-pointing and tried to act like her being late was simply how "production" goes. She never accepted responsibility and tried to blame everything and everyone else. She even had the unmitigated audacity to mentioned $2.00 (and some change) that I didn't pay her on the day of the photoshoot, because I only had $20's. Sadly, this is where her integrity is lacking: I OFFERED to stop somewhere to get change since I was in an unfamiliar area (driving her butt home), but she said "never mind". I guess she expected me to give her an extra $20 and call it a tip. PLEASE!!!! You show up late and cost me $$$$ your tip is: BE ON TIME next time!
