She's been to several places before, and her reaction was always pretty much... "meh." Funny enough, before we even knew Ashley had a salon, we knew her as our pickleball buddy! We've been playing together for more than six months, and when we finally found out she also cuts and styles hair, we immediately booked with her. My wife even said she had been eyeing Ashley's salon for a while! From the moment we walked in, Ashley made us feel completely at home. She welcomed us with coffee or tea and snacks and if you know Ashley, you know she always goes the extra mile for her friends and clients. From washing Hanalei's hair, thinning and trimming it, to the final styling, Ashley took her time and really listened to what Hanalei wanted. The result was beyond what we expected. The best part was seeing our daughter looking in the mirror, smiling and genuinely HAPPY with her haircut! My last had been more than 6 years ago, attempting to embrace my wavy-ish hair after years and years of getting magic straight perms. I tried - and I failed. My natural hair is thick, wavy on the inside, half straight-half wavy on the outside, and it just wasn't working for me. Booking an appointment over the phone was easy and I appreciated her upfront pricing and time estimate. My perm plus haircut took about 5 hours total. I was her only client the whole time and felt at home at her studio as she kindly offered me snacks and drinks. Ashley is clearly a pro at what she does, so hospitable, gives the most relaxing hair wash, and I'm so happy with how smooth and silky my hair feels now. Thank you, Ashley!

Recently, I wanted to get my hair cut by her again but she gets booked so if you want your hair cut by her, book a good amount in advance!! Instead, I booked with Alice. Her english seems to be a little limited but I didn't mind at all, she was very kind and I just played her a video showing the haircut I wanted. I got a long layered haircut with some curtain bangs, and cost me $130. I only complain a little because I'm broke lol but otherwise I suppose it was worth it, because it's one of the better haircuts I've gotten in my life. Also, my hair was extremely long (butt length) but Alice handled it well and was also able to finish the haircut in about an hour. I was nervous at first because of the big change but Alice made me feel so comfortable! I stuck to blunt cuts for years because of this. Then I found Yumi and I'm never going to anyone else. She's the first stylist who's done layers right. I air-dry my hair, and it falls perfectly without any styling. She really listens and tailors the cut to your face shape and lifestyle instead of doing a one-size-fits-all cut. But after thinking about it for a week, I decided this warning is necessary for others so they don't lose their money. The day before, I DM'd Yumi that I wanted babylights framing the face. I also showed multiple inspo videos during the in-person consultation. Instead I got 2 thick streaks of highlights around my face like Rogue from Xmen, which looked nothing like the inspo video. After I pointed it out, the highlights were dyed darker to tone them down. But as the color fades, the highlights will show again and I'll have to spend more money to fix my hair. I paid $345 for the total look ($300+ tip). If a stylist isn't familiar with a technique or can't do the requested look, they should be honest and inform the client.
