Do not use this company. The bathroom window which sits directly over my tub it's supposed to have tempered glass as a code requirement for safety reasons. My window now cracked and I have had estimates by two reputable companies who said this was not installed to code, it is not tempered glass, if the crack broke it would be dangerous as large shards could fall into my tub. The contract was written to require tempered glass that was never installed. Telephone call to the owner Scott no call back. Have written BBB for a resolution, still pending. read more

In 2011, my handyman told me that my living/family room window was bowing, if the window wasn't replaced water would get behind and damage the siding. I contacted three companies, called references, basically I thought I did everything I could to protect myself. I ended up hiring Colorado Windows and Siding to replace three windows on my home. I have an HOA and needed approval from the board of directors to make repairs to the outside of my home which would change the original look of the outside, and because of this I had three windows replaced. Since then I found Colorado Windows and Siding to be by far the worse company I have ever dealt with. What a nightmare! The installers damaged the trim around my windows on the inside and damaged the siding on the outside of my home and then the new window in my living/family room was also bowing in the center. The slab of wood (trim-board) under my living/family room window was replaced with one that was not even close to the required fit (this issue was actually corrected by Colorado Windows and Siding). The window frames on the inside of my home were damaged and instead of plaster to repair the holes they used vinyl caulking (Once I complained they came back and smeared plaster over the caulking.). I contacted the owner of the company, Scott Zimmerman, and his contractor, Mark Toth, numerous times. I called them, emailed them and faxed them with really no assistance. Mr. Zimmerman told me that I had to deal with Mark Toth directly to repair any problems. Due to the responses, lack of response in some cases or just plain lack of repairs that I received from this company I ended up having a professional installer check the installations of the windows. He discussed the problems, which he found with me and upon my request he also spoke to Mr. Zimmerman with the installment issues. I asked the installer if he could make the repairs and he couldn't because of possible liability issues. I finally gave up, I just could not deal with this company any longer. In April 2016 and January 2017 I found cracks in the windows. It took numerous calls, but I was able to have cracked panes replaced. In October (2017) this year I had a friend visiting who noticed the top of the outside living/family room window was leaning out from the frame and that caulking was placed in the large gap across the top of the window. The caulking is now dry and cracking. Because of all the problems I've had with this company I'm going to have a different company replace the windows. This company found the windows installed by Colorado Windows and Siding to be smaller than they should be by at least an inch and half per length and height. Since I am now retired the third window is not being replaced at this time due to financial reasons. Please beware of this company, for me it's been very frustrating and now costly to get windows correctly installed. read more

I highly recommend Colorado window and siding. We bought 23 of the Signature Weathershield slider and casement windows and they look spectacular. We were very pleased with the installers. Curly and Huston and crew were professional, knowledgeable and truly excellent craftsmen. And they worked their tails off. Our installation was a difficult one lasting several days and they did an outstanding job! The trim work was so well done and well crafted, I was blown away. And they were very considerate of our home. They were extremely clean: they worked clean and cleaned up so well each day, you didn't know they had been working here. This company is just ok, although losing points rapidly due to warranty/quality issues. We started out great with the salesman, Ray. He suggested some window brands and we thought we made the right choices. He talked us out of replacing the ceramic sills from the 50's, which get ice cold in the winter. We now wished we'd replaced them as later on we did the rest of our windows using a different company and they had no problem installing wood sills which we love. We did a few windows when we first moved in and then a year later called the company to do a quote for the rest. It took forever for CW&S to get us a quote which we actually never recv'd. The owner, Scott even came out and looked at the windows and then fell off the earth, so we moved on. This spring we called because the weather stripping is coming off. I've been trying to get someone out since April. A guy came once this spring but had the wrong color caulk and never returned. Back and forth calls (or no response) from the young scheduler McKenzie and now it's end of August and not repaired. I would not recommend this company at this point. read more

Scott dropped the ball. I never even received an estimate for my replacement windows. When Scott came out to measure my windows, he said he would send me an estimate via email in a couple days. After 4 days, I still hadn't received the estimate so I called Scott. He said he had been out sick, but thought he already sent the estimate and he asked me if I checked my spam folder. I said yes, I already checked and it wasn't there, so I gave him my email address again in case he had the wrong one. He said he would get me an estimate by the end of the day, or within two days at the latest. It has now been 5 days since I called him. I still haven't received an estimate, and Scott has not followed up. I will be looking for a different company that is more reliable. read more

Used them to replace windows in two homes and have been very pleased with them. It was a LONG arduous experience since we were working with two insurance companies, but Scott and Nina were there to help. I recently moved to Colorado and bought a house that needed windows desperately. We went to The Home show at the convention center. Talked to alot of window companies. Scott came out for an estimate. He was very polite and knowledgeable. We decided on a new patio door and the windows on the south side of the house. If you live here you know why. They said 4-6 weeks to receive windows. 4 weeks after signing contract West called me to schedule a time to install windows and door. He showed up right on time. Was very pleasant. I felt comfortable right away. The whole job took two days and you would have never known we had some pretty serious construction done. We love the new windows. They really cut down on the street noise.. read more

Very dissappointed. Spent over $4000 having several new picture windows installed. A few years after the windows were installed I noticed the brick molding on the sill was shrinking. It appeared to me that interior, not exterior wood, was used as the brick molding. I brought this to the owner's attention, Scott Zimmerman. He came out and he appeared to agree with me that the wrong type of wood was used. He said he would contact the installer and get back to me. After numerous phone calls and emails, nothing has happened and Scott has not gotten back to me. I guess he decided to blow me off. read more

Worst costumer service I have ever personally experienced. The salesman will tell you whatever he thinks you'd like to hear followed by an installation delay of 8 weeks past the scheduled time which then included contractors that were not window installers but handy men that damaged the trim around several windows and even tore up the siding at the sliding glass door. Paint was missing at literally every window, some minor and some quit terrible including small chunks of wood missing at most. At 9 months our 3000 dollar sliding glass door no longer closes all the way. Installation was for our home as well as a small rental townhouse. At the rental they did not get windows approved by the HOA so two windows were literally never installed. The rental kitchen window crank disconnected after two weeks and after 6 months the lock in the new sliding door no longer engages. During the installation process the salesman Ray was always on vacation or hunting and could not help us so we went directly to the owner Scott Zimmerman who gave us story after story after story and eventually stopped returning our calls. We have no final receipts or emails as you must contact them through their site or via phone - good CYA for a dishonest business. Don't believe the hype about "customer service" preached on the website ad nauseam - this business is all about getting you into a signed contract and your money at any cost. There are far better and more honest window installers out there - choose wisely. Wish I could give them ZERO stars... read more

We had a very good experience with Colorado Window and Siding. They installed windows throughout our home about five years ago and guaranteed them. Recently the seals in some of the windows, made by Traco, failed. This was complicated by the fact that Traco went out of business during the recent recession. Colorado Window searched the country to find another manufacturer who could supply windows in the same color and design as our original windows. They found one, and professionally replaced our failed windows. What more could we ask? read more
