But then nowhere to sit in his office. I feel overwhelmed and rushed. He seems like a great and knowledgeable doctor. But he gets really frustrated. Not with us. Fast word to treatment, each and every time my son sat in the chair the assistants were so very welcoming and had so much patience with my son but the real issue was the orthodontist himself. He would sit down not acknowledge my son and just began looking into his mouth. My son who is very verbal would ask what he is doing and he would be answer but be very short seemed like we were a burden on him. My son would cry due to sensory issues and the ortho would seem uneasy and still not explain in detail what he was doing. On one occasion my son was not understanding how to move his tongue and he was saying this is hard and the ortho asked me does he speak English because he wasn't understanding. Another day we came in, my son was in his chair chatting with the assistants like always and the ortho was talking with another patient and when he came over, he didn't say anything to my son and just talked with the assistant on how to continue my sons treatment, he was not acknowledged at all. My son said how come he says hi to him and not me, I didn't want to hurt his feelings and just said oh he was busy today buddy! But Today was the final straw and I'm so thankful we're done with this practice, my son was getting his braces removed and as a child with sensory issues, sounds are very overwhelming and during the removal my son began to cry and assistant stopped and let him take a break but then ortho just came over and started taking his brackets off without a word and triggered my son even more. The ortho told my son to keep it down to not cry because it's scaring the other patients when I looked over there was one teenager in Invisalign. We were than asked to leave since the ortho thought it was in my sons best interest. The only reason why we stayed at this practice was the assistants they always made sure he was comfortable and doing ok. I am forever grateful for those ladies in the back.

The reason he is so good is that he is a perfectionist and will make sure that not only do the teeth look awesome when the braces come off, but that the kids are taking care of their teeth while the braces are on. He advises on when the best time to get wisdom teeth taken out and how the kids should care for their teeth during orthodontic treatment. He's not afraid to be honest with the kids when they are not doing a good job brushing or flossing. I appreciate the help as a parent because sometimes my kids needed more than just me to motivate them. I highly recommend Pederson Orthodontics because you will find the doctor and staff caring, compassionate and personable to talk to. You will not have issues with scheduling as they make it a breeze.
