This is one of those pottery places where you buy unfinished pottery items then you paint them and…read morethey bake them for you to make it a finished product. However, they also have bubble tea. And you can just go in and buy bubble tea, you don't have to be a pottery customer. This is what I did. I got a small lychee milk tea with tapioca ($4.25 plus an additional $0.50 for the tapioca pearls). I asked for in half sweet and the sweetness level was perfect for me. The drink itself was tasty. The tea flavour wasn't too pronounced, but it was still enjoyable. The tapioca though was another story. Unfortunately, it wasn't that great. It was fresh because it was still warm, but the inside wasn't fully cooked so the core of the pearls was still hard. And some of them clumped together, so it was difficult to suck them up the straw. I suspected the bubble tea wouldn't be great because it's sort of a side business to the pottery business, but I thought I'd give it a try anyway. I think you'd fare better if you ordered the jelly as a topping. Staff were very pleasant. There's lots of free parking in the plaza parking lot. The place is a big hard to find. You have to go looking for it. It's highly unlikely that you would just stumble upon it, as it is not visible from the road, you have to drive around the parking lot to the back of the plaza.

In Easters past I have worn a headband with a stuffed bunny on it that looks like it's diving into my head and pulling out a carrot. And pretty much for the 2 weeks leading up to Christmas I don different Yuletide headwear everyday. I also like to wear festive jewelery. Claire's is a great place to get these types of accessories. I usually use them as a base, and I add more things to them to make them my own, but sometimes I will wear them as is. You know me though, I rarely pay regular price for anything, so I buy post-holiday and have all year to jazz them up. After the holiday their festive items are marked down to either 75% off or a flat rate of $2-$5. I've gotten so many, Christmas, Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, and Halloween items from Claire's. Claire's has cute regular (non-holiday themed) hair accessories too. They also have neat hairstyling tools (like knick knacks to help you make a French braid, or a fishtail braid, or a bouffant, lol). They sell really cute accessories that I think you can pull of at any age, haha. They also have a big selection of phone accessories, like a wall full of cellphone cases, but unfortunately for me, they are all for iPhones and I'm an Android girl forever! Oh well, you can't win 'em all. Several Claire's in Ottawa have closed their doors (Claire's Carlingwood and Claire's Rideau Centre RIP), but this one in the Bayshore Shopping Centre lives on, and for that I rejoice. You'll see me there after every holiday ;)

I can understand why quilters get such a stash too... very tempting, although I don't sew much. This shop has a section for yarn, but the quilting and sewing side has more variety in it. I was tempted by a lovely apron, which is funny because I don't ever wear one! Maybe I would though... if it looked like this, and if I made it myself! They offer some upscale yarns in here that were heaven to sink my hands into. I managed to walk away with "only" 2 skeins, which will be for a project for me; I'm thinking mittens, but we shall see. I recently purchased the new knitting book called "Saltwater Mittens", which contains patterns that are supposed to represent Newfoundland, and I'm just itching to get going on a few of these patterns! They have a knit-night on Wednesday evenings from 5:00 to 8:00. Now that it's on my radar, I will keep this in mind so that I can spend more time looking around. And oh yeah, knitting! LOL I will definitely be back.
