We're out of towners, and we were looking for a fun kid-friendly indoor spot to play on a rainy…read moreweekday. This place came up in a Google search because it was fairly close by, and we appreciated that adults were not charged admission. The play area had slides, climbing zones, ziplines, tricycles, and bouncy mats. My older kids especially liked the zipline and my younger went for the bouncing cushion. It was a good variety of activities. There is also a little café, lots of seating areas for parents, and wifi access. The arcade games, which you had to buy additional tokens for, were quite amusing as well. Each arcade required about 2 tokens (equivalent to 2 quarters) and these were nicely age-appropriate for the kids, mostly aim/ball-throwing-type games. The basketball game kept getting stuck, but the girl behind the desk was sweet about fixing it and reimbursing me for my lost tokens. My kids then enjoyed picking out their "prizes" (e.g. plastic junk) from the cases. Overall, it was not "cheap" per se ($36+ tax for my 3 monkeys plus another $5 for arcade tokens) but my kids had a blast here for an entire morning and it was a bit of a treat to do something different. I appreciated that Monkey Around had a mix of things to do for various ages, and everyone had fun.

Sent my High Fuctioning Autistic son to Monkey Around Camp - NOT INCLUSIVE…read more Over the last 3 years my family has spent over $2000 here on memberships, casual day care, birthday party and camps. 15 July 2019 I was called because my son was having a tantrum that included screaming and throwing chairs. When I arrived he was upset and wanted to go home. He hold me that another kid was scaring him so he got upset. I explained to the staff that it is easy to tell when he is getting upset and he can be redirected easily I also provided them with8 the same document that I gave them weeks ago in preparation for camp that includes all of his behaviours and strategies to deal with them. Before I left I ensured my son was settled into new group that was run by a counsellor that he is very familiar with. 16 July 2019 I called the camp to set my son up with tokens for after camp and was directed to the owner, he proceeded to explain to me that he was about to call me regarding my son's behaviour. He told me that my son had drug another child into the bathroom and then started punching the child. I told the owner that I realize that my son is not an Angel but this doesn't sound right, he just does not drag kids around....he's 5. The owner told me he was unsure as the event was not witnessed and all they could do was go by what the other child said (my son will not produce a what happened story when he is upset so of course he didn't defend himself). So my son is being removed from camp due to an un-witnessed event on the word of another 4 or 5 year old child???? When I arrived at Monkey Around to pick my son up I immediately noticed the mark on his face and requested the accident report....I was told that no one was aware of an accident (my son is very sensitive to pain, if another child hurt him that can send him spiralling out of control). He said that he had no idea and that it was not witnessed..... On the next note he said that he did not see on the incident report where it was circled that actually the staff member did witness the event..... So now we are at that a staff member witnessed my son hitting the child.... His words were the we need to remove the problem from camp. Later my son told me another child punched him in the face and that made him really mad, he was unable to tell me what happened next but I assume he hit back (which I know is not acceptable either) there is NO WAY he just dragged a kid into the bathroom to punch him, my son doesn't hide his aggression he just lashes out (which is preventable with SUPERVISION NOT not 1 to 1 necessarily just simple redirection). Again I know my son is not perfect but this is too much from a camp that claims to be inclusive. THE OWNER dumped my son and therefore my family just like that.

My kids had a great time. We visit a lot of play places, and while I've heard some people complain about the price (around $25 per child), I think it's very reasonable since you can stay and play for the entire day. The memberships are also well-priced in my opinion, especially since they are open daily, the visits are unlimited and they're valid for a full year. The staff were friendly, and all of the equipment appeared to be in good working order. The space is small enough to easily supervise your children, but still large enough to keep them entertained. In my opinion, it's best suited for kids up to about age 8. There isn't a food menu, but the snack prices are very reasonable (e.g., $0.50 for juice, $1 for water, $1.75 for chips). Many similar places tend to overcharge for these items. I also called ahead and was told it was fine to bring my own coffee, which I appreciated. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the lack of food options. That said, I understand space is limited and that food is available for parties.

Despite my kids being teenagers and almost at the age were they are out growing camp life they still say that this camp is amazing. They come home excited for the next day to go fishing, biking, tubing and wakeboarding. Not only have my kids managed to be happy, but their 3 friends have too. We recommended this camp in the spring to 3 other families. Not knowing if the other kids would like it or not, we still felt that the likelihood would be that they would love it. We were right. All 3 kids stayed that it had been the best camp that they've ever attended. The counsellors that they hire typically return multiple summers in a row and most of them have graduated high school and are university students. Mick and Coby are both currently in university and Maya who ran the tennis camp at Britannia was a full fledge graduated from teachers college. This fact has always made me feel good about sending my kids to this camp. For multiple years in a row, I have or had continued to see their friendly faces every year, giving me that sense of security to know that my kids were going to be and are currently being looked after. With regard to their tennis camp, that was the foundation that gave my son the opportunity to advance in his tennis game. He went onto making the regional team at the RSC and it was all thanks to the wonderful introduction and basic skills and game play that he got from the NTS!! There camps are great..go check it out for yourself and I can certainly guarantee you that your kids will thank you!!
