Look for the ESCAPE ROOM sign over head and the mirrored front windows. They have two rooms: "The Amazing Argo: A Steampunk Adventure" and "The Lost Treasure of El Capitan". We chose to do the Argo room. We were greeted by Alain, who would be our game master. After scanning a QR code on the TV to complete the online waiver, we were escorted into the room and our time began. All parts of room are immersive and there are a lot of really great props and display items that fit the theme of being on a steampunk airship well. The room is mostly non-linear, but flows well, and has a big variety of puzzles with just a few locks, quite a few mechanical puzzles, and even a few arcade style puzzles. There was one puzzle that wasn't properly reset but Alain was quick to resolve the issue. He gave us helpful hints without totally giving the solution away when we asked for help a few times which I always appreciate. This was a close one, but the two of us escaped right at the 60 minute mark. Afterwards, we enjoyed discussing elements of the room and other rooms in SoCal with Alain. He also gave us a quick view of the El Capitan room which I'm sure we will return to try. They are currently building a third room Code Black which will be a mostly completely dark room. Their rooms are very reasonably priced at only $50 per person for two people. The price per person goes down if you have a bigger group. Give their rooms a try!

The puzzles were clever--not just your typical locks and keys--and the props and effects made it feel like we were really part of a movie. Everyone in our group had a chance to shine with different types of puzzles, which made it great for families with varying ages. It is your choice on how big or small you want it and how you would like to paint it as well. Just note that you should not paint the bottom of it so when they can bake it, it will be ok. Overall the session was fun and yes your hands will be a little messy from the clay but you can wash them, inside of the studio towards the back. I came with a party of four and all of us came with something unique and different. I would do this again and can't wait for my next projects. Oh yeah, you will not get it right away you have to let it stay a few days and they will leave it outside with a locker code so you can pick it up anytime after it gets baked in the oven.
