no star, Julie Hill was very rude to me and my sisters after she collected our money. Once we called for a question and I heard her say, I'm going shoot myself. We booked as a group, but she had me and my one sister flying 3 stops to get to our destination. All connecting flights were too short and we missed every connecting flight, every time. DO NOT USE THIS AGENCY TO BOOK YOUR TRAVEL PLANS. THEIR LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM AND FOLLOW THROUGH IS DEPLORABLE!!!!! I must say, in the many years I have used the services of a travel agency, I have never once encountered such unprofessionalism as I have in my interactions with this agency. First, the lack of transparency in their service fees is appalling. Charging $40 per person to print airline tickets is absolutely obsene. Second, when I brought the phantom charges to the owner's attention, her response was nonchalant and her tone was condescending. Third, she refused to refund my credit card. When questioned about it, I was told the refund amount will be set up on my cruise onboard account, that agreement was never fulfilled. Once again, the lack of professionalism and follow through permeate through every services they offer. Fourth, I had to contact and remind them, once again of the refund/agreement. After almost 6 months, they finally issued my refund, however, the amount was only half of the dollar total that was agreed upon, when questioned, the owner responded that she did not remember our agreement amount and that she did not have written documentation. Knowing who I was dealing with, I was ready to produce written proof, it was only then that she said, "my bad". I would have given this travel agency 1 star, but I waited awhile to do a review as not to let my anger take over. The owner just isn't nice, and she has an attitude. Definitely a do only minimum attitude. I don't even know why I continued booking with this agency after I spoke with her the first time as it was a bad attitude from the beginning. In the end she got the job done, but there are many other agencies that can do a better job and with a more welcoming attitude. read more

I used colony travel, particularly Julie Hill, for my destination wedding/honeymoon in Riviera Maya. We had 60 guests coming from all over, on different dates, and different airlines. Julie was amazing and went above and beyond to keep us organized and to be sure we had the most carefree wedding. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and down to earth. She even made sure to give us a call when we checked in and another time throughout our stay to be sure everything was going smoothly. I'll definitely use her again when I'm ready for my next vacation... or maybe even for our destination vow renewal :) read more

I have traveled with them before on a cruise. This time we booked a trip through them and Apple vacations and stayed an entire week in St. Maarten. We paid for transfers to and from the airport. They told us to look for the apple representatives in the flower shirts. No one was wearing flower shirts. Took us asking 10 people before we found our transfer. We checked in to the resort. They did not warn us about the $300 charge to my card for incidentals. I am glad I brought my credit card. I know this is normal for a hotel but $300 was alot. They did not warn us that since we were doing all inclusive we would have to wear green plastic wrist bands all week that you can not take off even to shower. We were told there would be an apple representative at the resort every day to help us book excursions. When we checked in we asked the hotel and they had never heard of apple Vacations. We waiting 2 days and emailed our travel agent and she stated there was no apple representative on this island. We could not believe it. We did not book anything for 3 days because they were supposed to help us. The travel agent said to just use who was at the resort. That is not what we were told and we wasted 3 days waiting for a representative. Our travel agent told us she would work with us when we get home about compensation. We did not let it ruin our trip. After the problems at the airport with our transfer we did not even wait to see if they would pick us up to take us back. I did not trust anything they said at this point. We took a taxi. When we got home so far the only compensation we have been offered if the cab ride back to the airport which was $20. I will never use these guys again and I will make sure all of my friends do not either. read more
