Refrigerator and microwave were placed on top of the desk, so if you were planning to bring some work (as I often do but fortunately didn't have to on this trip) you won't find much space to do it. Bed was a little soft, but I still slept well. So, nothing great, but a less expensive and quieter alternative to the places in West Branch near I-75. I would have no problem going back.

After my contactless (COVID protocol) check in, I entered a room was clean and well maintained. The wood paneling and the (plastic) antlers over the bed gave an up-north rustic atmosphere that wasn't over-the-top kitschy as is the case at some of these older mom-n-pop operations. Bed was on the soft side but not uncomfortably so. Thicker curtains wouldn't be a bad idea here, as the lights over the sidewalk along the front of the motel shine through rather brightly. Bathroom was clean. The shower looked like it had been recently retiled. A full closet gave room to keep my luggage and gear convenient but out of the way. I would have liked a little more light in the rear end of the room, over the table, as I had some work to do while there. This wasn't primarily a working trip for me, but if you were staying on business, you might want to bring a table lamp. At least the table is large enough to comfortably spread out a laptop, papers, etc. A good find, with better quality and value than most comparable motels.

The penthouse in the back was basically a mansion, with a huge living room, dining room, and kitchen with three beds and 1.5 bathrooms. Wifi throughout the resort no matter where you are on the property. West Branch is a town that has everything from Walmart to all your chain restaurants, yet just down the road from this resort you can find a Pub where all the locals hang out. It's the best of both worlds as far as location. The resort is clean and you feel very at home with all the personal touches. I can't say enough about the big house. When I say big, the kitchen and living area are HUGE! We look forward to visiting this resort again.

These cozy cabins are just what we needed and never left our cabin and deck for anything. I can't wait to return. The kitchen and bath stocked with what you needed towels, paper towel, sponge and soap and coffee filters which was great! I brought my own coffee and creamer! They even have a little stove that heated up our pizza which was a perfect Friday night! The private beach area is clean, quiet and great for a mental unwind break! I wish we came sooner! Inside the cabins were older the floor sloped pretty bad in the kitchen but par for the course basically. Not enough electrical outlets we did find one extension cord, but we had to keep swapping it at night for the fan in one of the bedrooms then we take it out and use it for the TV set in the day along with chargers. The kitchen light had a chain, my friend is too short to reach the chain and I had to get on my tiptoes. We will bring a small stepstool with us wherever we go. Very comfortable, the beds were fabulous, the view amazing!. I really enjoyed my stay there.

As we mostly take up all they're vacancies, there are no complaints of us staying up till the wee hours enjoying the bonfire on the beach with our music. Ask him and he'll give you a number of a guy that's reasonable that will drop off the wood for you before you get there. Beautiful view of Lake Huron here, of course .There cottages have a rustic feel to them and he is constantly upgrading TVs barbecue grills outdoor furniture front room sofas beds kitchen utensils and other amenities which includes the addition of Wi-Fi with in the last five years. In front of the cabins there is a little boardwalk with a covered shelter which in the mornings I love to sit out there and drink my coffee and watch the sunrise . Cheap rates and has not raised them in 7 years. Thank you for this. As I end this posting I wish I would've kept this little gem to myself.

The owners of the campground are mostly absent and the owners hired long time campers to manage the campground. There management isn't the greatest. The managers dont like barking dogs, and they're many barking dogs in the campground. Management went so far as to tell me to put a shock collar on my dog, crank it to the highest setting until the dog foams at the mouth. I was outraged, I don't abuse animals. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone I know. Owners are about profit only and management thinks they own the campground.
