Can you tell me more about the lake? It seems kind of small being under 90 acres? Is it a busy lake? I am looking to possibly purchase on this lake and wanted some local feedback. Thank you in advance.…

We lost our power twice throughout the whole campground for a few hours each time but all in all it gave everyone an opportunity to get out and about and gab with their neighbors. Playground equipment is need of minor repair but the kids liked it anyways. This park is for the older generation by far compared to their other parks. Clean, neat, quiet. We enjoyed our stay very much. They are working on this park to improve it like making pretty wooden benches to sit on, a volley ball court, and other things. It is a work in progress. I give this park four stars at this time.

It was a great choice! This was a Tuesday night in February, so we were able to get a very good price on a double queen suite. Room was clean, comfortable and no issues. We had planned to go skiing Tuesday evening but ended up at the pool with our kids. The main lodge has a decent size pool that starts indoors and continues outdoors. There is an indoor hot tub and an outdoor hot tub. Also there are two Saunas. The kids were enjoying themselves so much we didn't even get to go skiing! On Wednesday we got breakfast at the top of the hill. We have eaten here before and it's always been good. After breakfast we got our gear and headed to the slopes. Treetops isn't a huge hill, but for the value midweek and 3 lifts, it's was a great time. We got started right at 10am and skied until about 4pm before heading home. There was almost no traffic and it was non stop skiing. The kids loved it as well and really enjoyed the beginners terrain park they built.

I enjoyed the hot tub, though it's highly chlorinated, and my favorite part was the steam room. That was very nice. They provide robes, flip flops and towels. We got scalp massages and Dazzle Dry manicures and both services were great. I especially enjoyed Emily who did my nails; she was skilled and quite pleasant to talk to. The wax dip is amazing and this Dazzle Dry polish is already lasting so much longer than regular polish. Love it. They also had really cute clothing in the lounge area - I was quite tempted by a couple of things. I would for sure return. It was such a lovely day after skiing.

The hotel is located right on Lake Huron within very short walking distance to the main strip with all the shops and restaurants. Fast food , Starbucks and Walmart is 1/2 mile down. The first time, we stayed on the city side and on the 2nd floor. The room was not really updated but it was clean . The bathroom could have used a better cleaning but I always travel with my own cleaning supplies cuz I don't trust even a 5 star hotel. LOL The 2nd time , we stayed on the bay side on the first floor. Not a fan. We were in room 100 which is the first room, and right by the front desk, vending machine and back door (which leads to a patio and the beach). Very noisy room. Don't recommend if you don't like noise . Plus people right out your window playing cards loudly all night . The front desk was super sweet. Offered to change rooms but we decided we'd stick it out in room 100 and it ended up being much quieter the 2nd night. We tried to get breakfast at their restaurant one morning but only one waitress and she said it would be a long wait. My only other issue was the amount of chlorine in their indoor pool and hot tub , not to mention all The sand in them. There were so many chemicals in that pool, it took us at least a week worth of showers to get the smell off of us. But the beach and tiki bar being right outside your door is the main reason we love this place. The kids love it, we love it. We don't have to drive anywhere while we're here.

Stayed at Tawas Bay Beach Resort for a destination wedding weekend for one of my best friends, who…read morehappened to be marrying his husband, and from the moment we walked in, the customer service was rougher than the drywall patch hanging from the ceiling in my room. At check-in, I was first told they had "no reservation under that name." After providing my confirmation number, I was then informed my reservation was for the following night because I accidentally booked the 24th instead of the 23rd. My mistake, absolutely. However, instead of helping me directly at the front desk, I was told I had to go through a third-party booking app while literally standing in the hotel lobby. Nothing says hospitality quite like booking a room online for the hotel you are physically already inside of. While waiting, I witnessed multiple other wedding guests struggling with check-in as well. One guest was openly given the wedding couple's room number along with his key. Then the photographer arrived before the 4 PM check-in and explained she was there to photograph the wedding. She was told she could either pay an extra $20 for early check-in or come back later. When she said she'd return, staff again casually gave out the wedding couple's room number like it was today's lunch special. Then a mother with two children arrived for the same wedding and was also told to come back at 4 PM. When I finally approached the desk again with my new reservation confirmation, I was told check-in was still at 4 PM. I explained that I had specifically called the day before and was told I could check in at 2 PM. No mention of an extra fee was made during that phone call. I asked to speak to a manager and was told nobody was available and nobody could be contacted. Apparently the "resort" part of Tawas Bay Beach Resort is just as difficult to locate as management. At this point I was frustrated enough that I brought my suitcase into the lobby and said I guessed I'd just get ready in the bathroom for the wedding. Miraculously, after my third trip hauling belongings inside, a room suddenly became "available." Praise be. I was handed a key and room number with almost no direction. When I asked where room 240 was located, I was simply told "second floor." After loading up a luggage cart and dragging everything to the B wing, I discovered there were no elevators. I have a torn meniscus and asthma, and had to make three exhausting trips carrying luggage up and down two flights of stairs because there was no convenient accessible entrance to the room area. Somewhere between trip two and trip three, it started feeling less like a beach resort and more like a low-budget CrossFit retreat. I even found a closer exterior door near the room, only to discover it would not allow re-entry from outside. Very fun little scavenger hunt energy. By the time I finally got settled, it was after 3 PM and I had to rush to get ready for a 4 PM ceremony. Nothing says "beach getaway" quite like cardio, confusion, and carrying luggage like a contestant on The Amazing Race: Torn Meniscus Edition. The room itself looked poorly maintained. There was a rough drywall patch in the ceiling with visible gaps, bugs and cobwebs along the windowsill, and the room key stopped working every single time I left the room, requiring repeated trips back to the front desk where staff continued to be dismissive and unprofessional. And just when I thought this stay had reached peak chaos, checkout somehow managed to unlock a bonus level. When my key stopped working yet again, I went to the front desk and was told it was because checkout time had passed. I reminded the same employee that I had actually paid for two nights. I was then informed that because I had not technically "checked out" after the first night reservation, I would now have to switch rooms for the second night. At that point I simply left. After everything else, I was not about to haul luggage up and down two more flights of stairs for a room shuffle created entirely by their own disorganized system. To make matters worse, I was never allowed to cancel the accidentally booked night either because of the strict no-refund policy. So in the end, I paid nearly $350 for one stressful night, endless trips to the front desk, stair-climbing cardio, and a room key with the life expectancy of a fruit fly. Ironically, the no-refund policy was probably the most consistently enforced policy during the entire stay. As guests attending a same-sex wedding, the cold and dismissive treatment throughout the stay certainly did not feel welcoming. The wedding was beautiful. The hotel experience, however, deserves vows of its own: for better customer service, for functioning key cards, and for elevators that actually exist. Overall, this stay was definitely not a "suite" experience.

It had a café, five individual lifts, plenty of fun trails and a massive terrain park. The café at Otsego was a very nice one, and had a large fire which was great to come into on a cold day. Unfortunately I wasn't able to be there for too long, and therefore couldn't see too many things that they served, but one thing I know was that the hot chocolate is great and the candy bars are delicious. The trails at Otsego were also great, but had a bit of a higher skill level. They had a few easy blues and greens, like Für Elise and Alan's alley for begenners, but no bunny hill, a load of blacks like waterfall and master's, two steep duo trails that me and my dad very much liked and even a few fun double blacks like Bob's Glade, a exciting and adrenaline-giving slope that emptied out into a easy green. The terrain park was also super fun, with gigantic jumps that sent me very high up into the air but no rails, which was ok but not as cool as it could be. The only rail I could find was a few rotten blocks of wood that someone had thrown together and then left to the power of the forest.

We were going to stay in a single villa but when we got to it (which seemed like a quarter mile walking from the parking lot), we were very disappointed. The fact that it was rustic was okay but we had inquired if there was a table where we could play cards in the evening and were told "yes". Well, the table was a small coffee table. The biggest problem was the bathroom shower which had a lot of mold. I attempted to call the front desk to report it but neither one of the two phones in the villa worked so I used my cell. I took a photo of the mold and requested that we be moved to the lodge. They did honor our request and the room was small but okay. When checking out the person at the front desk said that they checked out the bathroom issue that I reported and tholught it was fine. I was furious because I had a photo to prove my point and didn't like the attitude. The restaurant has a breakfast buffet but we decided to order individually. The servers don't come to your table - you go to the bar and order and pay and then someone brings your order to you. Lunch and dinner which are mediocre are served by the staff. Honestly, they need to invest some money to make improvements in the accommodations. We loved the courses but won't be returning because there is no option to stay anywhere else in that area that is decent.
