Kevin (Design Consultant) was very attentive and listened carefully to our needs, providing different options for our review and discussion. His priority was to deliver what we wanted in our kitchen update. He guided us through the entire selection process and always gave us his input when we asked and made adjustments along the journey based on our feedback. He took the time to provide us numerous estimated costs for different options and actually in the end, they were under budget. Kevin and his installation team (headed by David) was very professional and detail oriented and it showed in the quality of their work. We were impressed with their exceptional craftsmanship with cabinet door, sink, hardware and painting installation. In addition, they left our home spotless after every visit from the first day through the last day of the project installation. In fact, there was a minor flaw in one of the cabinet doors and they installed it, but informed us immediately they ordered a new door to be re-installed upon arrival to their showroom. Their customer service was wonderful. Kevin and David stayed on their timeline through the entire journey, beginning to end. We also like to give a big shout out to Heidi for exceptional customer service throughout. She was responsible for keeping the communication back and forth with us and her team. Yes, there were cabinet production delays. These were completely beyond the control of this business. Was it irritating? Absolutely. Is there any such thing as a construction job without a hitch? No, there really isn't.... Mr. Lewis installed the cabinets himself. He knows his stuff. My countertops are amazing, and the fabrication and installation was absolutely seamless.

I told Mr Lewis to install after New Year's Day 2023. They starting installing cabinets then I find out my cabinet over the Refrigerator was not ordered. I asked Mr Lewis did you not check my cabinets to make sure they were all there before notifying me? I hope it doesn't take 4 months for that 1 cabinet to come in. I also discovered the cabinets are no better quality than a lot other cabinets sold in big box stores and not worth the money he charges for the brand he sells Koch Seneca is the Cabinet Manufacturer. Shop around people don't fall for his price gouging he is over priced for what you get. I bought cabinets from Hobo's when they were open. The cabinets were better quality. I paid under $3000.00 for 17 cabinets. I drove from Texas to buy my cabinets from Hobo's. Koch Seneca cabinets are cheap press wood not ply wood. The drawers are even cheap. These cabinets were regular stock sizes not special order sizes. Mr Lewis uses this company so that he can over charge people because he orders them. You can order cabinets from Menards, Home Depot and Lowes. Mr Lewis showed up today 2/06/23 with the cabinet over the refrigerator it was smaller than the 36x24x14 I paid for he thought he could pull a fast one over on me. I took one look at it and realised it was a 36x24x12. His excuse was that since I was buying another refrigerator anyway I should just except. It was from a different manufacturer I noticed the difference right away. Do not do business with this man he is a con artist.

North Shore Kitchen & Bath completed my kitchen project recently. It was not a complete kitchen…read moreremodel - I had my walls/cabinets painted, replaced the countertop/sink, and added a backsplash. I am mostly happy with the overall result of the project, and the cost was more affordable than other businesses with whom I discussed the project. However, I will say the process to get to the final result could have been much smoother. NSKB's communication was lacking. From the beginning of the process when I was working with the designer to pick out finishes, I would have to reach out myself whenever I wanted an update because I would go weeks (sometimes over a month) without getting any information. When I did reach out, I usually had to follow up multiple times before I finally got an email back. I was told a start date for my project, and then when I reached out with a question later the designer mentioned a different date. The change had not been run by me or communicated to me. Had I not reached out myself, I wouldn't have known until they showed up that morning to start. The painters had to come back multiple times for touch ups after finishing the initial job. They got paint on my under-cabinet lighting and hardware because they didn't tape around or remove them; they just painted around things. Paint was spilled on my floors and the NSKB team was able to clean it up a majority of the way, but there is a permanent spot that is darker than the rest of my floor. The team also lost two pieces from hinges and were not able to hang the last cabinet door. It took NSKB almost 2 months to come back and find a solution after I followed up with them multiple times. Overall, the project that was supposed to be completed in early December ended up taking until the end of January.

We had Terry remodel our 1940s bathroom - electrical, plumbing, tile, tub, painting, toilet, sink,…read morelighting, cabinet, exhaust fan, grab bars, counter, plaster repair - the works! It's now been about 4 months since he finished the work and each day I look at our new bathroom and think "wow!' He did a great job! He was patient and always responsive to any questions or issues, and cleaned up each day. Great workmanship too. He started out by measuring and answering any questions we had, offering ideas here and there but letting us make our own decisions. Unlike some other contractors, he did not give fancy 3D architectural renderings, nor did he accompany us to each supplier to pick out products. Here's what his process was, which was perfect for us. We received a proposal contract which listed each item or task, along with a cost allowance for each item. If we chose something more expensive than its allowance, the final price would reflect the increase. If what we chose cost less than the allowance, the final cost would go down by that much. So we had a bottom line price from the start and would have the final decision on expenses. He then also gave us a list of his suggested suppliers from which to pick out all of the products. We worked with those suppliers to make selections at their respective showrooms (they work with TLC regularly), and they forwarded our selections to Terry. A few selections we made were from suppliers not on his list, which was fine, but the places he suggested were where most of the items came from. When all selections were made, he provided us with a revised proposal contract reflecting our selections and revised costs. Then he - not us - did the ordering from each vendor to insure that all of the parts and pieces fit together and would work, plus that way his contractor discount was applied. His final contract to us was transparent and showed all prices. No additional markups, no change order fees, no nonsense. If someone wants computer-generated architectural renderings, having him present at each supplier meeting, one central showroom where every needed product and samples are all in one place, then this type of contractor isn't likely for you. If however, you want a remodeling contractor that not only provides the quote but also does the actual work himself, with reliable suppliers that work with him, with a fair price and a minimal amount of stress (if that's possible lol), then TLC's a good choice. Would we recommend TLC Contracting? If you haven't it already guessed: the answer is absolutely!
