Huge, clean with multiple facilities (trails, multiple playgrounds, baseball fields, soccer fields, restrooms, covered picnic shelters, basketball courts, and skate park). I'm sure I'm missing a few amenities. We visited for my partners softball tournament, players were out with their teams, kids were out with their parents and owners were out with their dogs (on leashes of course). Unfortunately we didn't find any water fountains but always something to explore out here! read more

I came here for the first time to play a little soccer and volleyball with a friend's church young adult group and was so surprised to discover this frickin' awesome park so close to home! It's spacious enough to occupy many and still maintain privacy. Great for birthday parties, big kids, little kids, cookouts, and sports gatherings. They have a soccer and baseball field and also a couple of nice non-droopy volleyball nets in the sand. Apparently they used to have a basketball court. I don't know why they got rid of it, but that would have made it an overall 5-star park. Docked a star for that. Great nonetheless! I'm even more grateful that it's right behind the library. Beware of the patrol cars! My children and I were at the park for 10 mins and got not 1 BUT 2 citations for parking. Look at parking signs even if they are not on your side of the road , I guess. Love it! It had been years since I've been to Collins Park. In the past, this was a location to attend soccer camps, watch high school cross country meets or to just stroll around. But now my grandson and I have discovered the wonderful covered play area here. What fun! Located adjacent to the Barbara Bush Library, we first went into the library to read a few books and enjoy some quiet time. Then out to the park for some romping good fun to burn off some of the abundant energy that all little ones seem to have. The fact that this is a covered play area made it a great place to come on a hot summer morning. Clean and very well-kept facility. Parking is abundant and you can always slip into the library afterwards to cool off and wind down. We can't wait to return! read more

I came for a picnic with a friend. Despite COVID-19, little leagues were up and running. We came around 7:30-8 which is great time if you're trying to avoid the heat. Plenty of people were on the same page as us because parking was kind of hard to find. Between baseball and people hanging out with their families- Collins did have quite a few people. We all social distanced of course ! I've been coming to Collins Park since I was young and will definitely always come back. read more

We came on an impromptu picnic with the boys... We were under a gazebo and the little kiddos playground was right beside. There was lots and lots of room to play, sit, and walk! There is a public restroom right across so we were all set. We brought our own food and enjoyed our time. As we were there another family was setting up for a birthday party which was such a great idea! Why being the kids to the house, take em to the park! Nothing better than coming here and support you locals playing softball! I tend to come here every Thursday night to watch the game, it is very safe, clean, kid-friendly with affordable drinks and snacks. Parking is huge which is a plus for me! read more

I love this park! The play are for small kids kept my daughter entertained for hours. There is a big kids place too, lots for them to do. Bathrooms are always stocked and clean. Its never too crowded and lots of families and small kids. A definite go to place to spend a beautiful day at the park. read more

Collins Park is a hidde gem. Nestled behind Barbara Bush Library, a church, and a courthouse, driving by you would not notice its even there. Most people odn't, because it's rarely crowded (just went on MLK day, all kids out of school and beautiful weather, still not too crowded). The park has many amenities as noted by a previous reviewer. The basketball court is lighted and I've seen people playing there most times I've been. There is a large playground with a tower for the kids to climb in. Toddlers have their own play area so you don't have to worry about them falling off the tower. They have a covered pavilion with about 6 tables that is useful for bday parties. Parents will be thankful that bathrooms are adjacent to the playgrounds. There's a hill near the toddler play area that kids love to roll down. A trail runs along Cypress Creek for the slightly adventurous. read more

This is my favorite running trail so far in this area. I like running around the pond and there are two large parking lots to choose from. The trail is on the short side; the length is probably a little less than 2 miles. The run could be extended if you continue the trail that connects to Meyer Park. There are lots of other activities around, like basketball courts, a skate park, and baseball fields. read more

My husband and I visited today. We played some basketball. It's a nice covered court with six hoops. We then ate lunch under one of the pavilions which is next to two clean, well maintained playgrounds. Then we decided to hike toward Meyer Park. We passed Cypress Creek and saw plenty of wildlife; squirrels, turtles, cardinals and a mama nutria with her babies. Altogether, it was a great afternoon and I highly recommend this park. I really like this park. I used to run here all the time a couple months ago since my company was doing business up in the area, so it didn't make sense to sit in hours of traffic for it to only be dark by the time I was back on my side of town. This park has a very nice running trail and a small lake people use to fish. There's a playground, basketball court, soccer fields, baseball fields, and it's also very family oriented. read more

This park maintained the best basketball courts in the area before the removal without advance notice as to why, or whether or not they were moving them to another part of the park. These basketball courts were therapeutic for my son. My little ones could also enjoy the parks play areas while my son played basketball. Now our family activities are divided. Yes, it is a great park! There is also an outdoor sand volleyball. Intro meet up to see how many people would enjoy playing competitive volleyball on a weekly basis at the Park at 10:00 AM. There isn't usually any people at Collins at 10:00 AM and is a perfect spot and surrounded by the big tall trees and soft sand. Plan to play round robin tournament 4 v. 4 style volleyball. Cameras #1 and #4 softball diamonds are out of focus and you can not see the whole field, like on #2 and #3. I have notified the company that streams these fields several times but have not gotten any results. Previous company was very good about fixing the problem. Those of us that live far away.. enjoy seeing our grand kids play. Wish they would fix the problem. When visiting the park, I have noticed they keep it up quite nicely. read more

I love this park! It's underrated in my opinion. They have it all and they're currently renovating the fields. I'm not sure into what, but this is one of my favorite parks and it's so close to where I live. They have walking/biking trails. They have a volleyball net although I wish there was better sand because falling can rough you up with their gravel sand. Their basketball courts are great, it's roofed which helps a lot, but it wasn't smart to surround it with dirt around the area because it makes the courts so slippery and dirty. They also have double rim which can be annoying. Their softball fields are awesome and I guess open to the public. I just started using those and what a find it was! They also have a skate park for you skaters, but it isn't all that and then there's the playground for the kids which is pretty nice. My siblings love it there for that reason alone. I guess the only problem would be the crowd of people which can sometimes seem "ghetto" if you aren't used to that certain crowd. I have no problem with it, but some of the kids can be loud and obnoxious at the courts. Aside from that this park has it all! read more
