I visited the park with my 2 year old on a Thursday afternoon. The parking lot around the pool was…read morefull but there were spots that overflow into the church connected to the same lot. We only visited the playground, but there was a lively basketball court, the pool, a splash pad, a covered patio with seating, and public restrooms. I loved that the restrooms were right next to the splash pad (and very close to the playground) and not locked inside the pool gates, so we were able to access them after the pool closed. The splash pad is open 8-8, which is really nice with the later sunset. We arrived around 5:30 and there were a few kids playing in it. By 6:45, it was completely empty. I didn't feel like my toddler would get run over if we decided to play in it on a slow day. The playground was busy but the equipment was so expansive it didn't feel crowded. There was also a smaller toddler structure, baby swings, adult swings, a really nice 4 seater seesaw, some sort of merry go round that was occupied by teenagers, and a couple benches. I believe there was also one picnic table on the playground. The playground structure is so large that I was able to comfortably fit through it at 9 months pregnant. My toddler had a blast. It has a lot of options and variety in heights, slides, climbing skills, etc. He also enjoyed watching the basketball court from within the playground. We'll definitely be back. One thing I didn't see was a water fountain, not even by the bathrooms. But I could've missed it somewhere.

As a single mother, I thought that investing my time and money with him would be a good idea because my son really loves basketball and wants to be college ball player, however, when starting the program, games were canceled, practices were moved, and 2 months into the program after paying 400 dollars for the uniforms etc and almost 800. Also, he had the kids practicing at the park outside in cold, and sometimes rainy weather, this didnt make sense because a part of the price is paying for practices. It started out practicing in gym but suddenly it was moved with no explanation. We still hadnt recieved them. His wife does not make herself known and very friendly. They do not keep the team updated on what is going on and I felt like my son was just being looked over because I am a single mother with out a dad around and was not good friends with the coaches, so he didnt get much attention. I was told when making comments after a game that I was not allowed to be there because parents werent allowed but yet witnessed a dad bringing his older son to play on the team and helping the coach and sitting on the bench. I do not like that because AAU is not supposed to be parent coaches. I attempted to report this league and I am still in the process of figuring out how to get this program shut down because it is just a money hole. They dont care about the welfare of your childrens success. I wasnt going to write a review, but I feel like I need to be a voice for all the other parents that were calling me in attempt to complain and be upset about the organization of the program. They were the first people to say that certain teams cheat but yet I saw that at one tournament, he allowed bigger boys to play and was requesting birth certificate copies from smaller kids parents prior to this tournament that he brought the bigger boys on board. I did not give mine because I felt that he would keep the copy and pretend that the older kids were my son to be able to play down on team. Another thing that happened was that he got kicked out of Alodia tournaments and had to find other tournaments for them to play in, when this happened, I left because like I said no uniforms were produced, several games were played and yet they were playing in practice clothes and I was thinking this was rather sketchy. Also, i was promised a certain personal development plan for my son and that did not happen either. I had paid almost 800 bucks and the total program was 1200. When I was unhappy with service, I asked for refund or partial refund and was told no, which didnt make sense because I never layed eyes on the uniform. He said he would mail the uniforms and needless to say I have not recieved them and it has been 3 months. STAY AWAY! THIS PROGRAM SHOULD NOT EXIST!! ITS A JOKE!!

This relatively new and beauuuutiful gym opened up within the past year, and I would've been so…read morehappy to have a gym like this when I was a student! Its clean, shiny, modern design allows a lot of natural light come through the windows. There are rows and rows of cardio and weight machines, free weights, several benches, maybe 3 squat racks on the first floor. There are also several basketball courts that double-times as pickleball and table tennis areas too. Head to the second floor for an indoor track separated with jogging/walking lanes that tour around more cardio equipment + an area to stretch and do free weights/floor exercises. Fans of group fitness classes will have to pay for semester passes, but they have endless choices of yoga, circuit training, cycling, pilates, bootcamps, and even tai chi classes, plus those specifically for older adults! Members of the community (non-students) can also nab a membership here too, so it's a great choice with an amazing price to stay active! My first visit with my dad today really impressed me and I can't wait to come back for another workout next time I'm in the area :D The 2nd floor is definitely quieter if you like your space (and colder!). They keep it well ventilated with the AC and Big A** Fans (that's a real brand, I'm not joking). Views through the large windows are great with fields in the back (you can spot families of deer wandering around!) or big blue skies in the front if weather permits. Lots of free lockers with locks to store your stuff. The restrooms are clean, and the lockers have several showers too. There's apparently a small sweat towel service! And you can check-out equipment like basketballs at the front desk too. Personal training is also available. There is also a grab and go cafe at the first level and tongs of nooks and places to sit and study. There's no dearth of plugs either. Free public wi-fi. You can find indoor study rooms and outdoor patios with tables on the second level to hang out and work on things. *dreamy sigh* Downsides I can think of: no swimming pool. And they close really early Friday-Sunday at 6 pm~ UH Clear Lake students get free membership, but otherwise community members can start working out for $25 monthly. A parking badge/slip is $5 monthly (giant parking lot). Only 2 guest passes per semester. If you're just in the area, a day pass is just $5-- check it out! ^-^b
