Definitely wear tennis shoes or closed toe shoes here. The trails are a good mixture of dirt and then some parts are cement. Nice fishing spot as well. Catch and release only. Be careful letting smaller kids near the pond. I have seen a kid slip and fall in. He was okay and got out, but after seeing that I keep an extra eye on my kids if we want to get close to the pond. They have a sand volleyball court. Lots of walking trails. Even behind the trees where a retention pond is. They have covered pavilions with picnic tables and bbq pits. Also love that the playground is covered and kids can play in the shade. That's a MUST for Texas parks!

Super impressed by this park!…read more They've done a really great job with adding beautiful manmade waterfalls and such. The walking trail is very pleasant. FYI: the trail is paved and stroller accessible. On the way back, we took another trail which was dirt and had no issue taking the stroller on that as well. Nice playground for kids. There are bathrooms just past the playground. I initially thought they were closed because the gate had the lock still on it (in a locked position) but luckily, someone advised me that they were actually open. So, don't go by appearances and actually tug on the door! There are two relatively small parking lots that fill up quickly but there is also street parking available.

Although we didn't go into the pool the splash pad had an open gate without anyone monitoring. Everything looked clean. And the folks there all looked normal.

At first when we got there the person asked our zip code and usually out of zip code you pay more obviously. This kid tells us it's $17 for me and my mom then all of sudden it's another $17 for my 2 year old and asks if the baby (6month) old will swim and he would also be $17. Ok so we're ready to pay and then he doesn't know what he's doing with his register and seemed confused. We go in, bathroom is disgusting, smells bad. Definitely nothing spectacular for $17. The worst part is I guess they kick people out every few minutes for 10 minute intervals while they take a break?!?!? How does that even make sense, like do they not have enough staff. Even worst is they kick everyone out accept certain people. Honestly don't waste your time and money, we came back in 2012 and the staff was nicer, pricing wasn't stupid ridiculous, place looked cleaner, I guess with time they stopped caring. Either way won't be coming back here again.

Burroughs Park is one of those places that makes you appreciate having great local parks nearby…read more It's huge and has a little bit of everything -- fishing ponds, multiple playgrounds for kids of different ages, long walking trails, and plenty of open space to just enjoy being outside. The playground areas are especially great for families because there are several scattered throughout the park, so it never feels overly crowded. The fishing ponds are also a nice touch if you want to slow things down and relax for a bit. It's a great spot for a weekend walk, letting the kids burn off some energy, or just getting some fresh air. The park is generally well maintained and there's plenty of room to spread out. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that it can get pretty busy on nice days and parking near the playgrounds fills up fast. But overall, it's definitely one of the better parks in the area and worth the visit.

Lots of giant trees where squirrels like to play hide and seek with the dogs. Only down side is there's just one water fountain towards the front and then a couple faucets where folks bring dog bowls to put out for the dogs. There's a couple of wash stations outside of the dog park which comes in handy.
