From archery, camping, trails, playground, restrooms and pavillion this park have it all. I never would have spotted this gem untill I found it on Yelp. It is very well hidden and as much as I pass by here It was out of sight. One thing I like about this park is it's not overly crowded. There are plenty of open space with benches and bbq pits not to mention you can bring your own. You see a little bit of everything such as people on their bikes, walking, bbq, playing sports or just relaxing. There are plenty of trees that keep it shaded and cool breeze. I definitely will be back for a family picnick.

Great place. We went for scouts. Plenty of room with small trails and places for the kiddos to play. Park and rest rooms were clean

Cleanest restrooms I've ever seen in a park. Tallest slide too.

A nice park with a huge slide for the kiddos (or kids at heart), lots of picnic tables, some RV camping spots, and walking trails.

Burroughs Park is one of those places that makes you appreciate having great local parks nearby…read more It's huge and has a little bit of everything -- fishing ponds, multiple playgrounds for kids of different ages, long walking trails, and plenty of open space to just enjoy being outside. The playground areas are especially great for families because there are several scattered throughout the park, so it never feels overly crowded. The fishing ponds are also a nice touch if you want to slow things down and relax for a bit. It's a great spot for a weekend walk, letting the kids burn off some energy, or just getting some fresh air. The park is generally well maintained and there's plenty of room to spread out. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that it can get pretty busy on nice days and parking near the playgrounds fills up fast. But overall, it's definitely one of the better parks in the area and worth the visit.

Lots of giant trees where squirrels like to play hide and seek with the dogs. Only down side is there's just one water fountain towards the front and then a couple faucets where folks bring dog bowls to put out for the dogs. There's a couple of wash stations outside of the dog park which comes in handy.

As a 100% outdoor activity event center located in a flood-prone area, you'd think they'd have a plan. I don't blame the weather on them, but I do expect that they figured out how to create the best experience in spite of it, hours and days before, rather than just shrug and go, 'oh well'. The weather forecast was VERY confident that heavy rain would be there 24+ hours before - all local channels, Space City Weather, Jeff Lindner - it was a SURE thing. For example, bring the food under the tent BEFORE the time we were supposed to be eating, instead of wasting 45 minutes trying to rig a 'path' so we don't get wet waiting in line, even though the biggest problem there was water pooling and mud. The restroom is about a football field away from the only covered area we could remain, so they should have rented a port-o-potty to be closer, or have those plastic sidings to their golf carts to assist people in the mud and rain. Props to the Sheriff's Deputy that seemed more customer service oriented than the staff - he was telling us what was going on and seemed like he wished he could do more. Meanwhile they said they had a lot of staff milling about because the outdoor activities were canceled - not sure why they weren't pushing all the standing water out of the tent, or passing out food, etc. The store bought cookies they brought out were an after-thought, because they canceled the pre-arranged Funnel Cakes but didn't tell anyone. There were so many things canceled or cut short that still could have been managed with some preparation - like more tent siding they could drop down to stop rain from coming under the smaller tent. The food was good, but there was so little of it! I don't think they served the amount that was paid for, we ran out of some things. I can tell they're used to handling young kids, because they were treating us grown adults like we only eat 2 small pieces of brisket, 3 sausage slices and 2 tablespoons of potato salad! I was excited about the petting zoo - I'm sure the animals were safe inside a barn away from the rain. Again, if they had their golf carts prepped for rain, they could have offered to drive us back and forth to see them. There's a lot of risk mitigation that needs to be learned for an event facility such as this - if your event is expecting rain, cancel or reschedule!

I can't say how the facility is because I never got to book. I reached out to Lazy Acres on FB on…read moreMarch 1st. I was looking for a banquet room venue for my daughter's sweet 16 party in December. I reached out, and they confirmed that the date I was interested in was available. I let her know approximately how many people and expressed interest in using her catering services. My daughter chose steak and potatoes, and I wanted to add a large charcuterie board. I was told that someone would get back to me in a few days with a quote price. I never heard back, and it's May. My husband brought up a good point thinking that there were probably a lot of big company Christmas parties in December, so my little party was probably not a priority booking during thst busy time. I get it, if that's the case. It's just not good to tell someone you will get back to them in a couple of days, then don't. It's May 3rd. Luckily, I found another place I like even more in Waller County to have her party. I understand choosing priority bookings, but I don't understand not following up at all, even if it is to tell me that my date was no longer available.

At the other end at Louetta you have to cross the auto bridge on Louetta to get to the other side if you are going to make the 1.9 mile loop. Along the trail there are informational plaques that depict what kind of flora can be found here. Also every 250 yards or so there are sitting benches that are semi covered from the sun but not the rain. Best place to park your car if you drive here is on Rodgers by the swimming pool. My score of 3 means this trail is A-OK for you taking a walk or letting your dog walk you...it is a nice place to visit.

There are amenities like benches, trash cans, bike racks, and doggie waste stations. There is a crossover bridge on the north side but not on the south side. You could cross on Louetta where there is a short sidewalk, but I chose to turn around. The trail is short, a little under 2 miles, so not ideal for training. It does not appear to be lit, so I do not recommend coming here after dark. The trail crosses traffic once on Rodgers Rd, and traffic doesn't stop, so be mindful when crossing the street. There isn't an obvious place to park, so I parked by the pool on Rodgers Rd this time. I will try by the shops on Louetta next time. There is a neighborhood nearby where you could probably park on the street. I don't know much about the neighborhood, so I'll probably stick to the pool parking. Overall, this is a convenient place to run or walk when there aren't a lot of options around. I'll be back, but I will also keep looking. I also recommend Collins Park and Meyer Park for running/walking, if anyone else is looking for good places like I am! The lack of sidewalks and shoulders makes running a bit difficult around here, so I'm always grateful for a trail.
