Somewhere along the line, we missed the boat. I ordered the Lumberyard mac & cheese and added pulled chicken and roasted poblanos. My goodness it was a lot of food. The mac & cheese was good, not southern good, but still good. The poblanos were a perfect addition but the chicken was drowned in a cloyingly sweet BBQ sauce. I definitely wouldn't order the chicken again. The hubs had the Santa Maria tri tip. The meat was tough. Quite a few pieces too tough to even chew. Luckily, my meal was huge so he had that to fill up on. I saw the 32 oz cocktails and the former party girl in me immediately kicked in. I think my husband saw the look in my eyes. Maybe the aura around me and put a kabosh on it immediately. I ended up with a 16 oz, still large but that inner 22 years old was disappointed. 32 oz and you should be stumbling down San Fransisco. 16 oz should have at least brought a big 'ol grin. But alas, I couldn't even taste the alcohol. That inner party girl didn't let out that big 'ol grin. (That's ok. The tolerance of 22 year old me has faded through the years). Enough digression, would we come back? Yes, I think it's worth a second shot. We would, however, try something different.

It was very busy so I asked if I could get my fries that came with my burger early to snack on. No prob she said and a little later they arrived. I tried to explain to the waitress that I didn't order a side of fries and she said but you did get a side of fries. I tried to explain that my burger came with fries not a side of fries. I thought her brain was going to pop. So I just paid the bill. What has happened to common sense??

After standing around wondering if they'd forgotten us, I wandered over to the other side of the bar and found our bartender casually making my old fashioned like she had all day. Got that one, walked back, then waited some more for the Dr Pepper to show up. By the time both drinks finally arrived, we were done eating. At that point the drinks weren't really "drinks" anymore, they were more like proof of purchase. A nice reminder that yes, I did in fact pay for those. The food itself was pretty forgettable, and beer's not really my thing anyway, so this place had a lot riding on the service and vibe. Unfortunately that's where it fell short too. Maybe a sign, maybe a "hey we'll bring these over" from staff. Or even a "hey we'll bring your drinks before you're done and ready to leave." Something. Anything.

I usually avoid Korean inspired food at non-Korean restaurants, but I caved and tried it here at the suggestion of an employee. I shouldn't have. It was definitely not Korean-like. It was basically just a cole slaw fried chicken sandwich, and the chicken was mediocre. The salad tasted bitter, not sure if it was the salad, the dressing, or both. I tried one cheese curd, which tasted all right. That would probably have been a better pick. Ambiance - outside, there were lots of people hanging out. Good vibes. I could smell the strong stench of cigarettes from other customers, which was gross. Not sure if the heaters work, as it was cold but none were on.
