This required a straight leg brace for six weeks and crutches for another month. All this significantly impacted my ability to properly rehab the knee with the replacement, as well as the knee with the quadriceps damage. I was referred to Pursuit Therapy and Maryann Daniels by a friend, which was a true blessing because her approach was professional, personal, and hands-on. She was focused on pain management and rehabilitation, which was a balance that I did not receive at the traditional rehab center I went to after surgery. My physical therapist, Alison Burnham, is the clinical lead and was wonderful to work with. I've have PT for my back a few times over the last several years after being severely rear ended a few years back and again more recently, and have been to different AdventHealth Sports Medicine & Rehab locations each time. My most recent occasion at this location with Alison was by far the best - she is attentive, engaging and seems to have a great holistic understanding of ways to help and heal. I've also done therapeutic massage over this past year with the massage therapist on site, Daniela, which has also been really great. She focuses on problem ares well, notices if something seems to be causing pain, and is incredibly caring. I recommend this location, and especially these practitioners, for physical therapy and therapeutic massage to all!

I have suffered from back pain for the last 20 years. In 2008, I suffered from a bulged disk and…read morecouldn't walk for two months. Over the years, I have tried massage, chiropractic (both physical manipulation and with an activator), rolfing, CST, and MAT. All have helped, but I never got to the root of the problem. A few people had told me about NUCCA techniques, but it wasn't until my CST therapist told me about Dr. Nitzsche that I actually tried it. In December 2013, my husband, three children and I went to Dr. Nitzsche to begin treatment; my husband and oldest son had chronic back pain and neck pain, respectively. After my oldest son's first treatment, he quit bed-wetting, which was a chronic problem. He has had four accidents since December, with two of them being when his neck was out of alignment (if you've ever washed full bed linens three days in a row, you know that alone is worth singing Dr. Nitzsche's praises). Also, the adjustments have helped with my son's allergies, which are seasonal. My son had been seeing a chiropractor monthly for over a year and a half. Dr. Nitzsche is checking him again after three months! My husband became pain free fairly quickly; I believe within a few months. I think he is seeing Dr. Nitzsche quarterly. What I didn't expect was to become fully pain free, but I DID around June 2014! What I also didn't expect was to get to the root of my back issues, but through NUCCA techniques and Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT), I was able to. Currently, I still see Dr. Nitzsche once per month (my body has been stubborn), but I am not experiencing any pain when out of alignment. I also see the MAT specialist once per month to make sure my muscles are doing the job they are supposed to, and I am working with a personal trainer (30 min per week) to strengthen the muscles that I was using improperly. While I am still in process of retraining my body, I cannot believe that I feel pain free. This is the strongest my body has ever been, and I cannot thank Dr. Nitzsche enough. It's amazing! Also, this review would not be complete without stating how nice both Dr. Nitzsche and Kelly are. They both have gone above and beyond to work with my family. I often come in with three children (ages 7-1), and while it's not the most ideal for a chiropractic appointment, they have always helped me to get adjusted despite the three boys running around.
