Coming in the back entrance I was greeted with a mural at the end where a major anchor, Macy's, used to be located and four empty storefronts, a community center, another empty storefront with advertisements in the windows and a closed store. Not a good beginning. Anthony's Pets has closed and moved out beside two more empty stores, then three jewelry stores face the Target rotunda. Continuing down the concourse I saw three more empty spaces and two closed stores. The concourse between Dick's and the Food Court has the most popular and largest stores, H&M, Torrid, Buckle, Old Navy, Build-A-Bear, and no empty stores. When looking at the existing photos on their Yelp listing, the kiosks in the concourses have decreased significantly and some of them were closed. But I saw more people shopping here than I see in the Greenwood Mall (before the two recent incidents in the news) so I think the Bloomington folks are supporting their local mall well. The Food Court seemed adequate with the usual choices including a new pizza restaurant, Azzip Pizza, located very near the actual court seating area. The restrooms were clean. I liked how the sinks were separated from the rest of the facilities by being in a room of their own. They also looked recently renovated with new tile on the floors and walls. No issues with parking as plenty of spaces were available. read more

Hardly any stores left. The mall looks bare. Management is very poor. Bathroom sinks are leaking. Drain have come undone. Water runs all over the floor. The sinks are loose from the wall. Have reported it for weeks. Management don't care. I've been to other cities malls and they have them looking great. My true opinion about college mall is It SUCKS. read more

Having just visited some other malls, I must say that College Mall in Bloomington compares well. First, I like that the shape of the mall is basically a slightly bent "L" which makes it easy to know where you have been. Some malls have so many offshoots, it's confusing! And though the mall appears to have several changes in levels, they give shoppers the options of ramps or a few steps to use as a transition. The shops themselves are pretty standard for a Simon Mall with a few anchors (though this one has a Target), lots of jewelry, clothing, and home items. Review #1914 read more

College Mall is your average slightly old school shopping mall. The only thing kind of unique about it is that there's a Target attached to it. My girlfriends a huge Target fan and she just couldn't get over how cool it was that there was a Target attached to a mall. The mall is pretty clean and pretty big for a one story, your average mall store shops throughout with a few kinda cool unique stores like "Think Geek" (I thought that it was only a website and had no idea that they have actual brick and mortar stores out there) sprinkled in. There did seems to be a lot of vacancies though, which has been the plague of malls these past couple of years. I gotta give this place props for re purposing their Abercrombie & Fitch location into a laser glow in the dark mini golf course (how much you want to bet it still reaks of cologne like an Abercrombie). The food court was nothing special. Pretty generic offerings for the most part. Overall, not a bad mall. Less run down than a lot of modern malls, but it still has the stench of extinction that others do. It's a shame. I love exploring local malls while traveling. I'll miss it when they're all gone. read more

Went for the Santa photo for my daughter. Worst Santa I've ever seen. His mouth is hanging open in the only 2 photos they took. Cost $40, and Santa didn't interact with my daughter at all. I had to suggest she tell him what she wanted for Christmas, he never asked. Last years Santa was much better, and if the same Santa is there next year, we will be going elsewhere. read more

Okay, I know this is a regional mall in a college town. I get that. But still, this place is a bit bleak. There's just not bloody much here. Target is an anchor store. If you like the late 70s or early 80s, the design and decor will really appeal to you. To food court is limited, as is common seating, and some of what I found was pretty dirty. Great mall. As a visitor to the area, I was impressed. The mall seems to be holding its ground very well. If there were any vacancies, I didn't notice them. The mall had a good size crowd--not too large, but enough to ward off any sense of a mall not doing well. The layout is sort of a L-shape with enough length to pack in all the stores that should please most any visitor. Plus (a big plus!), one of the anchor stores is a Target. I love Target very much. I was still a kid the last time I visited a mall that had a Target as an anchor. That's pretty rare. The food court is average. Good, but average. This appears to be the only enclosed, mall in town. Another may not be needed. This one seems to do the job. read more

Its a mall. Nothing special about it. But, considering its only surrounded by small farm towns (though located in Bloomington, home of IU), its pretty decent. Their major stores were Macy's, Target, Sears, Dick's Sporting Goods, and Old Navy, and they have most staple mall stores, save for a few (not a Banana Republic or a J Crew to be found as we Christmas shopped for my boyfriend's sister). Santa was there and people from Nestle Toll House were giving free warm cookies to everyone. My holiday shopping experience wasn't bad. read more

It used to be a lot of nice stores in the mall. But many of them seem like they are closing down now. Which is not good for the city in general. Their is still a few places I enjoy shopping at the mall. Hopefully, they will bring better places at the mall. Right now they only can think of fresh tyme grocery store? At a mall? This is really for Judy's kitchen in the mall. She doesn't have her Yelp page ready yet . First thing I thought when I looked at the menu was "this is in a mall in the food court"? Very impressive. She has roast duck and yes it's really roast duck. She has real duck soup. She has pig's ears, and she has pig's feet soup. Finally an Asian place in the mall food court doesn't have people walking around trying to get you to try bourbon chicken. read more

Be thankful, the little town of Bloomington has a mall. College students will find their dorm essentials at Target, preppy clothing at American Eagle & Hollister (A&F now stands vacant), chic young-adult workwear at Express, cheapy one-time wear at Charlotte Russe, sexy undergarments at Victoria's Secret, and value vacation escapes in a bottle from Bath & Body Works. Sadly, stores come and go there - especially the Kitchen Collection where they sell quality kitchen items at a steal. Is the pet store still there so I can go look at adorable puppies without actually having to own one?! One thing I absolutely love about this place is that it isn't crowded like larger malls. I can walk through freely without being bumped by baby strollers and masses of people. Also, inventory seems endless. What would be gone in larger city malls will still be available there months later marked down on the clearance racks. Added plus that the stores are quiet so I can leisurely pick through the organized racks without it being a messed up unfolded heap. Yes, I'm talking about you Hollister. All in a day's trip with the convenience of the Starbucks inside Target to grab my cup o' joe on the way out. read more

So many renovations going on! The businesses popping up in the parking lot and a new section being added, all new tile and lighting in the original interior section of the mall, I'm very happy to see the investment in this shopping center. Target offers such convenience, you can get most anything on the mall campus with the brick and mortar stores outside and the variety of shops inside. read more

The mall is really starting to go downhill again. There are several stores going out and the amount of shopping offered is decreasing. There will be a new market and beauty store soon but, the loss of Sears, Nirvana, Hollister, etc... is causing the atmosphere to dwindle again. read more

For the size of the town, the mall is decent. Has the essentials. Do NOT go to the T-MOBILE booth there though. They sell you illegal iphone punched sim-cards. They are also rude and overpriced (they sell sim cards for 40 dollars, t-mobile sells them for 2 dollars online.. lol) Also, the Sears auto service is rude, but they get the job done. Every other place in the mall is fair and friendly. read more

Id agree that College Mall lives up to its' name. There are plenty of stores for thrifty-minded college shoppers, or up-and-coming young professionals. It's wonderful that such a small town can even offer such a facility. However, For middle-aged shoppers who obviously are not the target demographic of this mall, there aren't many offerings beyond the basics; a drive to one of the malls in Indianapolis would serve one better. read more

This mall is a bit of a dive. However, of the stores is does have, there are some hidden gems. I've been to and worked in many malls around the Midwest, and I've never known a mall with a Target attached, AND the Target has a Starbucks! There is also a Buckle, Express, Hollister, American Eagle, Victoria's Secret, Limited, and H&M. The department stores are a little small, but at least at Macy's you can order anything they don't have in stock to be sent to your home free of shipping charges. I think ultimately this mall works perfectly for the location. It's small town Indiana and only an hour away from Indianapolis shopping anyway! read more

I have been to plenty of malls/plazas in Bloomington before and this one takes the cake. This mall convenient but it has many stores that most people like and a good food court. Some of my favorite stores include Build-a-Bear, Target, Nailtique, Old Navy, and Ulta. They have a plethora of other stores too for different ages, like Claire's for little girls or Lids for grown men. The mall has several food spots to stop and eat at also. Some of the food places are Chick-Fil-A and Subway. The mall has a nice seating area when people walk in to eat or rest, they have little benches and chairs spread through the halls too. It is apart of a bigger parking lot that includes a grocery store, restaurants, a gym, and other necessities. It is very nice for college students because there is a bus route that goes from campus straight there and one does not have to go to multiple spots since everything is already there. Although if one decides to drive there are plenty of parking spots to choose from. The mall has great hours and policies for COVID-19 also. It is open from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM every day, which is perfect because that's the center of the day. Everyone must wear a mask to enter and stay inside. They also have hand sanitizer stations spread throughout the mall and conveniently have a hands-free door to enter through. All of the employees are nice, friendly, and helpful. It's easy to navigate once inside because they have boards that give names and directions. There are also new stores coming and new renovations too. The bathrooms are very clean and spacious, plenty of stalls so people do not have to wait to use them. Overall is just a very welcoming and good experience to make you come again. read more

Do not park overnight in any of the lots at College Mall. Despite having no signs that state you cannot park overnight, they will tow your car if you have an easily tow-able parking spot. Then you will have to go to the world's scariest salvage yard where you will be told you can "have your car back for 100 dollars in cash." Rick's Towing. When you try to take pictures of your car to makes sure there is no damage, a large bald man I assume is Rick will come out and try to intimidate you demanding to know "what your problem is." He will then get in his giant truck and honk at you until you drive out of the lot. I understand the life of a tow service might not be the most glamorous but for getting your $100 is a clear scam job, I think you would at least have the decency to leave your "customers" alone. Also shame on you College Mall for not only not posting "no parking overnight" signs but for then using this sketchy service for your towing agency. I'm disgusted by all of this. read more
