College Green Bridal has now been made famous! Last May, Katie Price was famously snapped here shopping for an outfit for her friends wedding. In fact this was the same day that she was spotted in Syndicate taking off her top with that 'friend' of hers which in turn led to the break down of her marriage. Since this day, me and my friends felt compelled to visit and see why Jordan chose this shop out of the many others to buy her outfit. I can now see why. Their dresses are wonderful. There are such a variety of designs in lots of sizes. I did get a bit of a frown as us giggling young girls walked in as it was blatantly obvious that we weren't going to buy anything, but hey, a girl can dream! read more

We came here today for my friend to try on some wedding dresses & we were not disappointed. They have a wide variety of bridal dresses to suit pretty much anyone. The section downstairs are buy off the hanger dresses, these can't be ordered but can be altered. Upstairs are the dresses made to order and can be pretty much designed how you want which is great. The staff are amazing, they were so friendly and made picking the dress so much easier. They were completely honest on what did and didn't look nice and they weren't pushy in the slightest. The lady that served us in particular was brilliant, I could have stayed and chatted to her all day. Prices vary depending on dresses but they are all pretty reasonable for bridal gowns, most are between £1000- £1300. I can't recommend this store enough. Not only do they stock beautiful bridal gowns they also offer fantastic service which I think is so important. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!!! read more

What woman hasn't wondered past this shop and gazed longingly at the window displays? In the search for a wedding dress I had initially been put-off this shop due to the fact you have to press a buzzer to even get through the front door. Apparently this is simply because the bridal, prom and eveningwear is spread over three floors which makes manning the desk in impossible task all the time and has nothing whatsoever to do with exclusivity, or ultra expensive prices. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised at the cost of the dresses, ranging from around £400 to upwards of £1000. This may sound expensive but in my experience this was actually quite reasonable. The selection of dresses was extensive and the ground floor has discontinued and 'off the peg' dresses while upstairs there are current season gowns that can be made to fit. The sales staff were lovely and not at all pushy, giving my friend and I plenty of time to look at gowns before trying any on. Appointments are advised on Saturdays but midweek you should be fine without. read more

College Green got my order wrong and then were rude about it and didn't pay to put it right, so I had to pay a seamstress out of my own pocket to fix it, dispite having paid a huge amount for the dress in the first place. I would advise other brides that if they like the dresses in this shop they can get them elsewhere where the staff hopefully aren't rude and incompetent. read more

The worst service I have ever received. I 100% do not recommend that you go to this Bridal Shop. I visited a number of shops in and around Bristol but ended up finding two dresses (I am also have a blessing in another country so am having two dresses) from College Green Bridal. The service I originally received was okay, they were helpful and keen for me to purchase the dresses (who wouldn't be) but as soon as I had agreed to purchase the dresses the lady dealing with me (later found to be the owner) told me "she had to leave because she was going on holiday to Skegness" and walked out! This was at about 4pm in the afternoon and was mid-purchase. I was left dealing with the assistant who didn't know anything about the dresses or what I had agreed with the manager. This was actually quite rude but also unprofessional but I let it go as was excited about my dresses. I waited 5 months for my dresses to come in and was left a message that they had arrived in early March (my wedding in on 26 May 2012). I called up the next day and asked if I could come in for a fitting on a Saturday (as I work full time). I was told that they were "very busy" and the next time they could fit me in was 21 April (this was in early March). I said this was my Hen Party so I couldn't that day. I was told the next day would be 2 weeks before my wedding. This was unacceptable to me as it would be my first fitting! The lady was unbelievably rude and told, in not so many words, it was my problem and if I couldn't take a day off work (they only open 10-5 and do not do any evening fittings and their seamstress only works 1 Saturday each month) then I had to deal with that. I managed to book a lunchtime fitting and first of all they got me stuck in my first dress (they had to cut out the tag to get me out). The next dress was a disaster - it had two marks on it - one a blue mark on the thigh and a second black mark on the train. Rather than saying I am so sorry, or any apologies, the lady asked ME when I had tried it on - suggesting I had put the marks on. Obviously they knew I had not even tried it on before. To cut a long story short there was no apology, no, don't worry, we will sort this out. Nothing. They did manage to get me another dress in but the service was appalling, no apology, no trying to allay my stresses. Just rudeness. In the end I took my dresses away and getting them fitted by another seamstress. I have been, and still am, very upset by my experience at College Green. Even the owner did not give me an apology. Please do not put yourself through the service I had. They do not deserve to be in business. read more

I was disappointed. Tatty interior and sample dresses in a sorry state. The assistants weren't particularly warm or friendly either.

DO NOT USE!!!! This shop was so incompetent that i ended up being left with no choice but to buy a second wedding dress from a different shop two weeks before my wedding. They rushed me into a sale (as they wouldn't hold the dress for me for a few hours on a saturday morning) and then promised they could alter it to fit with no problems. Months later after my first fitting it became very clear that they couldn't alter it to fit at all and then refused to accept any responsibility for having promised they could. They made me feel like a nuisance every time i wanted to go in and try my dress on with underwear, shoes etc and the two ladies who work there were horribly bitchy about other customers in front of me (and no doubt about me to other customers). If you want a pleasant experience DO NOT USE THIS SHOP! I eventually found a dress in a shop in Bath where the staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. read more
