I was surprised by the inconsistency in pricing; for example I found 2 very similar Angels tree toppers and one was price around 3 and the other around 8. I don't think I would go out of my way to shop here but would stop in again if it was convenient.

That is why I have started thrifting to see what is there and being done. The people that work at Fancy Unicorn are so nice and very helpful when you ask for help. I went in on a Thursday looking for an outfit for my senior photos on Friday and the lady was so nice helping me out and trying to find something that was me. After about an hour, I was able to find two outfits and I loved wearing them at my senior pictures. My last visit was today and I was looking for a Christmas present for my grandmother and I found the perfect present for her. I found her a candle that smelled like the woods and she loves the woods. I am getting her more, but it really helps when you can find some things for your relatives and it is not as expensive as other stores. And I found this beautiful coat that I fell in love with and it was only $20 and was in fantastic condition. If you are looking for affordable clothing for yourself or family or decorations, this is the best place to go.

I check back at the store very often because they circulate their clothes very efficiently, always something new! That being said if you see something neat, make sure to pick it up or it might not be there when you come back! Never feels like a second hand store, very boutique-y feel! Absolutely love and would highly recommend!!

The floors are highly dirty with trash lying all over, not to include the distasteful music playing over the loud speakers. To each their own - Not my cup of tea. Very happy to discover this thrift store while driving through York and surprised it never made it…read moreto Yelp before now. Now that I know of it's existence I'll be coming on the regular. Walking in I wasn't expecting much. The retail area is very nondescript and unmemorable. Very basic layout with rows of clothing separated by item/color, and some racks but not many by size. Shoes and purses lined the one wall, mens and children's were on the other side and housewares in the back. Some furniture items were showcased in the front with lesser quality pieces in the back. Little or no display or props other than furniture which is just there. At first glance I wasn't sure if I wanted to take the time to go thru the racks, after all I had hubby in the car (his choice) on a hot summer day. But once I dove in I couldn't stop. The brands and quality were some of the best. I saw Michael Kors over and over. Many items were like new or with tags. In about 15 minutes time I had an entire cart of items to try on. With my recent weight gain I'm finding less and less that fit (damn you covid!!) so I'm having to constantly shop to replenish my closet. I will say that the prices were higher than average for thrift and more in line with consignment, which normally I would bulk at given the retail space is so blah. But the quality was exceptional and I found several key pieces that are great additions to my wardrobe so it was worth the extra money. If I find the time I'll post some of the great items I bought. Just an example of pricing: tee shirts are in the $3.99 - $7.99 range, purses $9.99, jeans and shorts $7.99-$11.99, some blazers, coats and dresses were $19.99 They do have offers if you sign up for their email and I was able to score 5% just for asking to sign up (and mentioning the current discount the customer in front of me used). The staff were happy to give it to me without question and also to tell me how many people my purchase today fed ( a whooping 23!). It's shopping you can feel good about and also very worthy of your sell-able donations. Worth mentioning: no Sunday hours, easy to find BEHIND the Weis on 462 in East York beside the Petco.

While I felt some prices were a tad high ($12.95 for mall store jeans), others were low ($12.95 for never worn CK flats). While I only meandered around the front of the store I would say alot of the styles were more catered towards a sophisticated, mature professional woman. However I didn't venture beyond the first few racks. Overall I think they are very picky with what they accept and it shows. I would consider this consignment shop more upscale and selective than others and wouldn't mind coming back to shop for myself. They obviously take great pride in their business. Aside from clothing I saw accessories and jewelry and believe they offer additional departments as well. As a seller I would consider the process cumbersome with little reward. My transaction was for a straight buy out and pennies on the dollar was paid out with what I considered too much paperwork for the merger amount I received. Honestly for a buyout you would do better having a yard sale. Some of my items were purchased for .60 cents. I don't know anything about their consignment terms which is more common and what they prefer but it would be worth looking into if your stuff is immaculate. So while I won't return for a buyout, and probably won't return to shop for everyday wear, I would come shop for any special occasion or high fashion needs.

Since most places here seem only to have a few reviews each, I thought I would make it a personal project to review each place I try to help fellow travelers in their searches. Most of the one star reviews said they felt ignored when they visited, and maybe that's where I differ from other shoppers as I prefer to take my time and have the space to do so. I particularly love her Fall/Winter clothing which always has a vintage feel, it's chic without being impractical to wear and makes you feel like a lady. I'm sure it would be the perfect place to get a dress for a wedding, graduation, etc. in the Spring. The windows are always a treat, too! In addition to the clothing, there are also hats, accessories, some household items, and beautiful jewelry. Very unique, funky, and affordable jewelry. I got my Mother her Mother's Day/Birthday present there on two occasions and both pieces are in Mum's favourite jewelry collections. It's the most gorgeous shop downtown.
