The floors are highly dirty with trash lying all over, not to include the distasteful music playing over the loud speakers. To each their own - Not my cup of tea. Prices are also decent, but questionable when finding the same item with different prices marked down. The staff is very friendly, but seems to be unable to answer any questions without calling a manager or higher-up.

Walking in I wasn't expecting much. The retail area is very nondescript and unmemorable. Very basic layout with rows of clothing separated by item/color, and some racks but not many by size. Shoes and purses lined the one wall, mens and children's were on the other side and housewares in the back. Some furniture items were showcased in the front with lesser quality pieces in the back. Little or no display or props other than furniture which is just there. At first glance I wasn't sure if I wanted to take the time to go thru the racks, after all I had hubby in the car (his choice) on a hot summer day. But once I dove in I couldn't stop. The brands and quality were some of the best. I saw Michael Kors over and over. Many items were like new or with tags. In about 15 minutes time I had an entire cart of items to try on. With my recent weight gain I'm finding less and less that fit (damn you covid!!) so I'm having to constantly shop to replenish my closet. I will say that the prices were higher than average for thrift and more in line with consignment, which normally I would bulk at given the retail space is so blah. But the quality was exceptional and I found several key pieces that are great additions to my wardrobe so it was worth the extra money. If I find the time I'll post some of the great items I bought. Just an example of pricing: tee shirts are in the $3.99 - $7.99 range, purses $9.99, jeans and shorts $7.99-$11.99, some blazers, coats and dresses were $19.99 They do have offers if you sign up for their email and I was able to score 5% just for asking to sign up (and mentioning the current discount the customer in front of me used). The staff were happy to give it to me without question and also to tell me how many people my purchase today fed ( a whooping 23!). It's shopping you can feel good about and also very worthy of your sell-able donations. Worth mentioning: no Sunday hours, easy to find BEHIND the Weis on 462 in East York beside the Petco.

There are in fact four total stores, and I can assure that this one is the location in South York. If this reverts back to that actual York location, in downtown, know that I did not visit there and that was definitely not the location I went to. I was not in downtown York, I was in a plaza in South York. In fact, this was an old Tuesday Morning location before they moved in. LifePath is what I would call this areas Goodwill. A thrift store that benefits the area and the work this organization does. I can't speak to all the locations, I can just speak to this one. This location was well organized and had a ton of items. I didn't come in here for anything in particular, I just came in here to browse. I went through the clothes and peaked at the furniture. But I was drawn to the electronics section as I always am. I went up and down the aisles and found one item in particular that caught my eye. Something that I had been toying with getting, but just never found one at a decent price. I walked by it several times and eventually picked it up. I had wanted a hot air popcorn maker for a while, just didn't want to pay the price for a brand new one. Eventually I would get around to it, but not a priority. This thing was basically brand new, didn't even look like it was used once. I saw the price and decided that at $6 now was the time to snag it. Went to pay, had a great transaction with the employees in here. Paid and was out the door. When I got home, I did my due diligence with cleaning the pieces that should be cleaned. It may have looked brand new, but didn't want to take any chances. Plugged that thing in and made myself some of the best popcorn I had in a while. Definitely a diamond in the rough here.

Anyway, the Antique Center here is always a stop for Wifey and me. We don't always walk away with something, but we always WANT to walk away with something. Wifey collects those blue Spode plates (well, they don't have to be Spode, but the plates with the blue imaging) and we found a great one the last time we were there. I also found a WWII-era 82nd Airborne patch that I couldn't walk away from...so I didn't. You can find some bargains here - but there's also some overpriced stuff as well. Great shop. Blue plate and a cool AA patch.

The only big downside is since they are all in locked cases, you may have to wait for a staff member to come around and unlock the cases. Close to closing town, they seemed a little annoyed/rushing to unlock cases. I would recommend not coming close to closing (was unaware when this was until they announced it) or when it's not crowded if you want to peruse items closer.

Had the pleasure of visiting this location my thrifting weekend in Chambersburg the end of Jan…read more2023. It's located downtown, with metered street parking, with another thrift store in close proximity. Street parking was hard to secure the day of my visit due to an ice festival, but there is free street parking several blocks away. The front half of the store is antiques, large furniture and the like, all neatly displayed. These items were priced comparable to an antique store. As you head to the back you encounter household goods, linens, collectables, and such. They were heavy on dishware and cooking items, but they were displayed nicely, and all in good shape. Pricing was average, but the selection was expansive. Some of the misc items, such as a vintage Florentine box in bad shape was priced high for the condition, but most items were very reasonable. At the very back was a curated section of farmhouse decor items. I scored a handpainted decorative muffin tin with florals for only $1.50. By the register was an empty cage, which I assumed was for a cat, since this store benefits the animal shelter. They also had a nice selection of animal toys, supplies other than food, that appeared new, priced the same as a pet store. Past the register is a whole other side selling jewerly, clothes, shoes, toys, books etc. So the store is basically the size of two downtown shops in one. If you head towards the back of that side things tend to get a little messy and less organized. Overall I would say that side is organized but other than jewerly, care has not been put into merchandising. I didn't spend much time at the clothing side that day, but did look at the jewerly, which had a very large selection, way more than other thrift stores I've been to. Four stars because the antiques were a little pricey, the toy section was weak, and the parking situation. The positives are the housewares side for sure, their mission, and jewerly selection. I'd stop again if in the area for sure. Sidenote: I would not consider this store stroller or wheelchair friendly as some of the isles are tight. Glass is displayed low so be mindful if shopping with children.

My trip to Chambersburg in Jan 2023 was one of those trips. With list in hand of all the places I planned to shop, the Hope Center was first due to the way I had my route mapped out. Located downtown, with metered street parking the parking was hard to secure due to it being the ice sculpture festival weekend. Hubby dropped me off. The inside is small, and not overly displayed or decorated. The workers are nice, elderly ladies who might be volunteers. Inventory was on the small side, as the space is not huge, but clean and organized. Pricing was really reasonable. The large display windows also have goods for sale and you're able to climb up and help yourself. They had a few small furniture pieces there as well. There were some vintage items, mostly glasswear that I was not interested in. Linens were lackluster and disappointing. I did not look at clothing, but what I did see was cheaper brands and dated styles, like Walmart quality. I scored a nice vintage plastic mirror for $8 and a few crochet doilies from the display window. The lady ahead of me had a lovely ombre pitcher and glass set from the 50's, also for $8. They even held my items while I shopped next door since the mirror was large, as there is another thrift store nearby. While I wouldn't make this a regular stop, I would stop again if in the area. Parking was a big issue, but maybe not so much when the festival isn't going on.
