I tend to be anticipating releases for months prior, so I really appreciate being able to get them ASAP! The selection is vast and covers a good array of topics, interests and identities. There's what seems to me, admittedly v Anglo, a fairly big French section (and I think some other languages as well) and the kid's section is awesome-I read stuff fairly often that seems to be categorized as YA here. I feel very welcome and catered to as a queer person as well-the selection is super inclusive in this respect! You can also get many zines (lots seem local), manga, and comics here too, if those are more your speed. The employees don't pester you while you're browsing but are always friendly and helpful if you have a question. The current location is also accessible. For me, this is the ideal one stop shop.

The books aren't cheap but they don't overcharge, so that's good; you need to just disabuse yourself of the brain poison that Amazon has infected everyone with.

Legends has extremely competitive pricing (Games Workshop stuff usually 20% off!) and a very nice selection of board games, comic books, cards, minatures, and geeky merch (I definitely picked up a Rainbow Dash mug on my last visit here.) If they don't have something that you have your eye on, you can connect with them to see if they will order it for you (which they likely will, if they can!) Really flexible hours of operation, open late many nights of the week, and there are constantly events occuring here. They have a fairly large, well-lit, and clean gaming space in the back. Customer service here is quite friendly. I'd HIGHLY reccomend checking out Legends if you are in/around the Vaughan area to get your geek on :).

It's like Walmart lol you go in for one thing and leave with 10. There's a pretty good selection of board games, both popular and obscure. If they don't have what you're looking for they'll gladly order it for you and give you a call when it comes in. The guys who work there are all very nice and very knowledgeable. The first time I came, I was still fairly new to tabletop gaming so I wasn't sure what to get. I had my eyes set on Agricola but after talking to the associate I realized I wasn't ready for such a heavy euro game just yet. The associate asked us what we liked and then basically went through their entire collection with us, pointing out and explaining various games that he thought would appeal to us. You don't get customer service like that anymore! All the games are also much cheaper than you would find at Chapters or Mastermind Games. They've also got tons of other nerd stuff like comic books, figurines, and superhero paraphernalia. The store is located in the back of the plaza so it's difficult to find if you don't know where to look.

I understand it's to prevent theft, but it also makes me worry that someone will steal my belongings since they're just lying at the front of the store. They have a huge collection of manga and figures, though the prices are higher than stores like Amazon. It's a nice place to come and look around, though I don't think the employees like that as there are signs saying "no loitering". When we left the girl said thanks for coming even though we didn't buy anything. Overall, the store is still the same as the last time I came but my experience with the employees was much better.

I give AnimeXtreme 2 stars: one for having a decent manga section, and another for having enough to look at to kill time before our dinner reservation. Would never buy a figurine from here though.

Good place to visit if you are able to locate it - it's very small and easily overlooked, and located in a mainly residential neighbourhood. Their largest section is literature/fiction books, most of which are in very good condition, and priced from about $5 - $20. There is also a varied section of science books from all disciplines, both recent and older volumes. Other notable areas are crime/mystery, sci-fi, arts and music, history. In the record section, I browsed thru their rock/pop sections and blues, finding lots of variety and again mostly in very good condition. Prices that I noted were usually between $10-20. There is also a section of cd's (not sure if they have dvd's), but I did not look thru them. I also do not recall ever selling anything there, so not sure what they accept for how much. Other than when paying for something, I have never had much contact with the staff, but they seem to be okay when speaking to other customers. The store is always very clean and organized, and pretty much everything there is of good quality, so I would definitely recommend a visit.

It's funny saying that but the shift has been more about the toys and other comic book merchandise than the comic books themselves. All of their new release are bagged with cardboards along with the back issues located at the back in boxes. The place is narrow but long. The new release section is located at the front with the graphic novels while the back issues are at the back with the counter. I no longer collect comic books but once in a while like to browse and purchase special issues and this place does it for me. I also witnessed when they do the weekly pull of the comic books for their members and I was impressed. They were very meticulous. If you check in with Yelp, they offer a one year free membership.

Some even have great staff. The owner here is probably the nicest comic book/hobby store owner in Toronto, and I have been a customer at pretty much all of them. The off-peak day staff is just as friendly and welcoming, and it honestly amazes me how difficult that is to find with other stores. It's a small store, but it manages to have quite a bit of variety considering the size. Focusing on comics and graphic novels, but a really good selection of toys, and other merchandise considering the size. Usually even for unpopular items, at least a couple are ordered meaning non-regulars and those who want to make an impulse buy still have a chance; but by all means place an order if there's something upcoming that you really want. Frequent sales, fairly regular warehouse sales featuring a great selection of bargain older items, a really fair membership system and more make this a really good store to visit. I look forward to returning there once I am settled back in. It's a store that makes you want to shop there for gifts, and even makes you want to be sure that a certain item is unobtainable there or inexcusably cheaper online before shopping elsewhere. At least when I shopped there, so many of the regulars are friendly, well mannered, and intelligent as well. It was a place I was excited and happy to visit no matter what the day. Also be sure to visit Cybercity at various conventions, especially Anime North. It's perhaps not the place to visit for making unreasonable deal requests on Friday afternoon, but it offers a great selection of warehouse stuff and storefront items for a little less if you're not a store member.

They will be having a Black Friday sale so if you're looking to score a deal, be sure to check it out soon. Now the store could be a bit more organized... but with so many comics, I don't know how else they can improve it. They also have a lot of dust in some of their shelves but the comics are fine.
