    Gacha machine: spy family
    Kathleene S.

Interesting shop with gacha & claw machines, blind boxes, and figurines (small to large size & Funko pops). This is not my cup of tea (unless they sold a wider variety of pompurin stuff hehe). Overall pricing felt expensive but maybe I'm just missing something. For example, with the gacha machine, $10 for 10 tokens. Typically really small keychains and toys require 5 tokens. It's the thrill, yet doesn't give me a !! HAVE TO BUY !! thrill, but more like, why should I take that chance? Similarly, $20 for a blind box. I personally don't get it, but I'm sure it's exciting & fun for lots of other people. There's staff available & centralized at a counter with a larger display case to help out, but not actively going around the store. I would recommend people who are interested in this sort of stuff check this place out, but I personally wouldn't be coming back.

Great customer service, amazing selection of rare toys, and the prices are decent as well.

Not usually a fan of these kinds of stores, but I went in with my bestie and she's really into these collectibles. I actually found there to be quite a large selection and so neatly placed so it's super easy to see what you might be looking for. Price point I guess is average for these types of retailers and my friend was able to find quite a number of things to get. I personally like the idea of being able to do some painting classes here and making your own collectible unique creation. The staff was super cheerful and friendly and she really didn't hover on us while we took our time to browse. She also seemed very knowledgeable about all the different types of figures they have here. Quite a cute place! It's so small and unexpected!

Big things come in small packages! Small little shop but it has so much! There are so many different types of miniature figurines that it's hard to stay away. From Ninja Turtles, to Marvel, to Heroes of the Storm, there's something for everyone! The service is also amazing with an owner who is clearly very passionate about what she does.

Over three years ago, I made a tweet about breakfast and my love for waffles. Chris responded by suggesting that I would like Mr Toast. He was right! So, my love for purchasing Mr Toast plush toys began. Chris even suggested getting the game on iOS! I am now a fan of Yummy World. Mindzai has the best selection of items. I have been shopping here since that tweet and have never been disappointed. I recently picked up my Yummy World goodies at the flagship store. The helpful person that day gave me a tip about parking. There is actually an underground parking lot. I wouldn't have known had she not told me. Mindzai also had a location in Toronto one of these days, I will visit it. The flagship store is definitely worth a visit. I have been shopping online with Mindzai ever since that first tweet from the owner. Great products and customer service!

Went here for a private party and it was quite enjoyable. Store was lined with toys, figurines the blank canvas toys for customers to paint and design. Decent prices (Base toy was $10 and upgrades at a low cost for the larger toys). The gentleman hosting the event was incredibly friendly, helped us set up the paints and assisted us if we had any issues. I was so tempted not to spend a lot of money because there were a wide variety of really cool toys/collectibles available for purchase. I would definitely go again for multiple paint parties with my group of friends. Will recommend to anyone in the mood for some creativity and a little paint!

My girlfriend and I are in love with this place. You should go! Why, you may ask. Okay, we first saw Mindzai's stand at the 'Night It Up' event at the Civic Centre a few months ago and we saw the Mystery Pops for Heroes of the Storm. We grabbed one of their business cards and saw that one of their locations was literally across the street, behind a restaurant I'm at pretty frequently. With all the construction going on Highway 7, I'd recommend turning west off of Warden (one street south of Highway 7, behind the Hilton Hotel). Take a right before the traffic light and take the second left into that parking lot. The Mindzai store itself is located on the south end near the middle. Mindzai specializes in their toy painting. What you do is pick a toy model that's on their shelf and you paint it however you want. This is a great thing to do as a couple because then you can give each other your work! It's best to lightly pencil in what design you want and go over with paint and sharpies after. Fear not, they provide you with everything you'll need. The different toys you paint range in pricing, then you need to pay an additional $15 per person for the materials (which is what they refer to as a Workshop). Just make sure you leave a lot of time to do these. My girlfriend and I both took between three to four hours to do the Do-It-Yourself painting both times we went. They also offer a lot of mystery toys (mostly from Kidrobot and Pop!). Every few months, they hold trading parties in which you can gather in the store and trade so you can get a full collection for whatever toy set you're going for. The trading parties themselves are very crowded with people who are looking for particular items. People don't always come with items that are being sold at the store either - I've seen people bring the Minion collectibles from McDonalds and Nintendo amiibos. So if you go to these trading parties, take anything that can be collected - I'm sure you'll find a fit. The owner, Shan, is super cool. She started my girlfriend and I well on our way to make sure our toys came out nicely and give us a few small tips to help us along. She takes several trips downtown so expect her stock to be plentiful until something gets discontinued. If you're lucky in that you're collecting what the owner is, she'll trade from her own collection. My girlfriend actually got the Sadness from 'Inside Out' model that she wanted and traded her for a different random box, in which my girlfriend got the model she wanted. This store is a must-go for anyone interested in either painting a small toy figure or collectors for Pop!'s mystery toys. They don't tend to be overly busy, the owner's super cool and they usually have plenty of stock. Take a visit and try it yourself!

Working at Michaels, I do quite a few comparisons while shopping at both. - Michaels is a lot more expensive when not using a coupon, while Pointers offers good and affordable deals. There's also a clearance/sales section that is super cool. - Michaels only offers the big name brands and their own line of products. I find that Pointers has a lot more variety in stamps and everything related to scrapbooking - While Michaels is not super modern, I do find that Pointers offers more traditional and "classic" products. Not knocking it down, but I do not like ugly illustrations with curly type that says "you're brighter than a star" on my stamps (I made that one up, but I'm pretty sure I can find something similar to that) I did a lot of comparisons, but I think it is a good way to illustrate that Pointers is an amazing place. My friend and I booked through an Instagram direct message and went during their "buy one, get one free" promotion for the fluid bear. The bears come in many sizes, and prices increase accordingly (keychain $22, 7" $58, 9" $68, 13" $108, 21" $168, 1 mini bear and canvas $38, and 2 mini bears and canvas $48). On the website, it also lists how long each project is expected to take. They also have pom-pom canvases and bags. The pom-pom canvases are: 8 x 8" $58, 12 x 12" $68, 18" x 18" $88, 18" x 23" $108, 23" x 23" $168, and 40" x 40" $328. The pom-pom bags are: A4 $88, A3 $108, and B5 $68. When we arrived and checked in for our reservation, an employee showed us the different-sized bears, and there were even some that were sitting or leaning back in addition to the standing ones. He gave us some time to decide, and then we also chose paint colours. We weren't sure what colours we wanted, so he showed us photos of previous customers' projects. We were set up at a table with aprons, our chosen paint colours, our bear on a tray, and even given a hair tie if we didn't have one with us to keep our hair out of the way. The employee showed us how to pour and mix our different paint colours and then pour them on our bears. The first pour was definitely the best one for me. The colours and patterns were astounding. Sometimes the paint doesn't completely cover the bear as it drips down, so they provide a plastic spoon to fill in those spots. The last thing before paying was deciding whether or not we wanted the bears to have a matte or gloss finish. Also, there's no tax if you pay in cash. We were informed that our bears would be ready for pickup in two to three days, and I did get a text informing me that our bears were ready within two days. I wasn't sure how to transport my finished bear home. It turns out that they put them in a case for you.   Overall, my friend and I really enjoyed our fluid bear experience. instagram: https://www.instagram.com/whitebear_trt/ website: https://www.whitebeardiy.com/

Each wheel class can fit up to 6 ppl (as there are 6 pottery wheels). The class that we partook in was full and we had some great banter w/ the other participants and the teacher during the session. James was our teacher and he's an absolute beast (also, the nicest, friendliest dude)! He gave us a demonstration first in slow motion on how to apply pressure to the clay and proper hand placement. It's A LOT HARDER than it looks lol. Once he finished demoing, he guided each of us through a piece that we wanted to make. I opted for things that were relatively simple as I found it hard enough to maintain equal thickness in the clay on all sides. We learned that James is 5th generation from a family of master potters. No wonder he's so good and made it look easy! My gf and I made 4 pieces total and I paid an additional $40 to keep the other 2 (as the initial prices for both of us only included 1 piece each for painting and baking). Two hours flew by so fast. About two weeks after the session, I received an email notifying me to book a time slot for painting our pieces. Painting occurs in a different room from the pottery wheel room. More spacious and you can go up and get your own paint. After painting them we waited another 2-3 weeks before receiving a final email that the pieces were ready for pickup. We were quite happy with how the pieces turned out. I love the glossy dark blue finish on my sake jar! Ultimately, even if you're not good at arts and crafts, this is a really fun activity!
