It looked like a last-minute, low-effort substitute thrown together with whatever was on hand. The vase or wrapping was also basic and unimpressive compared to the marketing images. This wasn't a minor variation due to "seasonal availability" - it was fundamentally not the product I paid for. To make matters worse, I received zero notification or contact about the delivery. No phone call, no text, no email alert letting me know it was on the way or had been left at my door. I only discovered the disappointing bouquet hours later. For a service that positions itself as convenient and thoughtful, this complete lack of communication is unacceptable. I understand substitutions sometimes happen in the flower industry, but reputable companies clearly disclose them in advance, offer options, or at minimum reach out to the customer. None of that occurred here. The end result felt careless and disrespectful of my time and money. I would not recommend this service to anyone. The dish sets vary in price from very expensive to reasonable. Some are sold as a set, and some are sold individually. The styles range from classy to rather funky and unique. When there's an incomplete or discontinued set, it goes on sale and then on clearance. I found a very funky set that was striped in different colours. I got a couple of square plates and some awesome bowls for about $1.40 each! I was so excited, because I love having an eclectic collection of dishware. Another thing that caught my eye was the pizza-man pizza cutter. The handle was a pizza chef figure, and you could stand him up in your kitchen. I gave this to my friend, and she loved it. I got a couple of glass cutting boards here for $3 each too. Although this place can be expensive, you can also find some super awesome deals.

We prefer making arrangements with the florist, so they give us an idea of what we are looking at in terms of cost and to meet our specifications, so there are no surprises and we can get the florist's suggestions on what goes well together. Yes, local florists are a bit pricier, but I find the care, artistry and attention to detail makes it worth it. With delivery of floral arrangements, the flowers are placed in a grid of tape to hold the arrangements exactly how the florist created it and even the funeral home complimented that effort. I also appreciate the little trinkets they keep at the front of the shop to catch my eye!

Rather than providing the plant grouping in a pot as purchased, they sent a slatted basket full of sphagnum moss. When my recipient watered the plant grouping the water just poured out. Canada Flowers says this is an appropriate substitution. Why anyone would think a basket with holes is a proper vessel for a plant meant to be a long lasting gift is beyond me. Clearly these folks have no idea about how to handle plants.

I will say one thing first off dried flowers are hard to come by these days but this place had a decent selection. They had a few I wasn't even aware you could dry which brought some interesting and unexpected colors to the finished products. Petals for Less is a bit of a smaller store but they do have a decent selection in their cooler. I was also told they do bulk flower orders which is handy for people looking to do their own arrangements at home and save some cash. The staff were nice enough to chat with but I am taking a star off because my friend had asked the young girl at the till if they had any different flowers at the back (we could see some hanging up on racks) and she didn't seem to keen on checking replying with "no I can see from here". Even if she thought they were all the same a courtesy walk to the back to look would have been appreciated especially considering we were the only customers in the store at the time so it's not like there were other people requiring service. Despite that I still think it's a nice store with quality floral arrangements at good prices. I would definitely recommend them over a chain like Safeway floral any day of the week.
