This small store sells fresh-brewed coffee, as well as publications from independent press companies. The selection is varied, and there's even a section of books specifically meant to read in house. The menu is small and straightforward, featuring less than ten items, all under $10. Seating is limited with about four tables, two couches and a coffee table. The store has a very cozy atmosphere and is a great place to sit and get work done if things aren't too busy. They do host events on some nights, such as readings, meetings and mic nights, all of which are posted on their Facebook page. Third House has an open hallway connecting it to Downtown Wine & Cheese next door. They are separately owned, but may have deals during events like Open Mic Night (50% off one glass of house wine). I enjoyed my time at Third House, and I hope to see the business thrive. They have my support for sure.

Music lovers, rejoice!…read more If you're looking for a place where great music is key, look no further! When I first started my record collection, I asked my music-loving co-worker where to go and he immediately recommended Hear Again! Located in downtown Gainesville only a few cobblestoned steps from the legendary Hippodrome Theater, Hear Again has a fantastic location in the heart of the city. You'll usually know when the shop is open based on the standing sign that is propped up during business hours! Upon entrance into the store, you're surrounded by some of the greatest tunes to ever be pressed on their various mediums with more genres that you could even count. Hear Again is so wonderfully organized and arranged, there never seems to be a a CD or vinyl out of alphabetical or genre order - talk about arrangement! The wonderful store owner also keeps a running list online of available vinyls, also available on their Instagram page which is updated weekly with new arrivals or sales. My favorite portion of the store? The used records! I've scored vinyls in prime condition for $5 or even less! One of my favorite details about Hear Again? Their COVID practices! Upon entry, you get your temp checked, hands sprayed with alcohol/sanitizer and you are then provided with gloves. I love it!! So if you're planning to show some love to your music collection soon, Hear Again has all the greats your record player could want!

This would be a great activity for adults and recommended for common sense smart people. The four us had our own station complete with glass, tools, and torch. This was a first time glass class for all of us. After the common safety recommendations, Justin did an amazing job showing us basic techniques (suitable for our novice level). He helped us shape our designs when asked. This was a very hands-on, creative playing experience! Recommendations: -Wear work clothes and sneakers (it gets hot!). -Bring a drink and empty your tank (bathroom on site). You'll be at our station standing for quite some time. -Come with an idea of what you want to make. -Have an open mind and as Justin says, let your adult self go. Just play. -Be ready for a satisfying and simultaneously aggravating process. -Bring your sense of humor! -Your glass creations will take at least 24 hours to cool down in the kiln. Be ready to pick them up a few days later. Thank you, Justin! We'll definitely be back!

I have been to Coterie Market a couple of times and have enjoyed everything I've tried. While I'm…read morenot into speciality coffees, I know a lot of people who frequent this place love their unique creations. I have really only tried their baked goods. The shop is quant, with a lot of rotating items--both drinks and baked goods. They have a little gift shop inside with a variety of trinkets and such too. The atmosphere is cute and unique, there is nothing like it in midtown for sure. They do have indoor seating and I can see this being a good study spot. Their hours are also decent as they close at 5, which is later than some spots in the area. The service is good and the workers are really friendly. They offer great suggestions and are really pleasant. I have tried a couple of items including their chocolate chip cookies, banana bread, and other seasonal treats. The can say the banana bread is easily the best I've ever had. Super moist with a cinnamon streusel-like topping, with ample amounts of chocolate chunks, and bananas--DIVINE. If this is available when you go, don't hesitate, just order it. Their chocolate chip cookies are good, but nothing too special. I think they use an all-white sugar base, whereas I prefer more of a brown butter type of cookie. They are thin, with crispy edges, and a good amount go chocolate chunks. While all the baked goods are great here--they are on the pricier side...especially considering how big they are. While the banana bread is a larger portion, it comes in around $5 for a slice. The cookies are almost $4 per cookie. I think their baked goods are really great, but I honestly can't justify the price... Overall, I think Coterie Market is great little shop in Midtown. They offer an eclectic, fun menu that caters to the college town. They host a lot of events and will collab with other businesses as well. I really want to check some of these events out at some point. The baked good are of good quality, but are pricey. But I definitely think the banana bread is a highlight here and shouldn't be missed. I will probably come back at some point and check out there new items. Worth a try if you haven't been!

She was very courteous, and told me the value of the monies as she sorted through them. Although the final amount was somewhat lower than I had expected, I was okay with that, as I understand that they need to make a profit too. I went to this business a week later with smaller denomination coins as well as antique jewelry and paper currency. The young lady that waited on my was unfriendly, and went through my coins more quickly that I would have expected. She didn't mention the price they would be paying for the wheat pennies, large pennies, Indian Head pennies, Buffalo nickles, Mercury dimes, etc., until after a co-worker had taken my cigar box of wheat pennies ran them through their coin counter. I had coins in folders. The best coins were in folders and the value of some of some wheat pennies was in excess of $25.00. When the young lady was finished, and the coins were processed such that I could not retrieve them, I was told that I was being paid two cents per penny, whether they were Wheat or Indian Head pennies. I am not a jeweler or collector myself. I was helping the family of someone who had recently passed. The 1930's antique gold wedding ring with four diamonds, brought me $40.00. My biggest mistake was not refusing an offer of one-hundred dollars for some Confederate paper money and fractional currency. The male co-owner said that Confederate money and fractional currency had no value other than historical or as a novelty. I found that when I went home and checked online, that the value of that stack of paper money was in excess of four hundred dollars. All in all, I found that in dealing with the Coin and Jewelry Gallery, I was paid more that five hundred dollars less than the true value of the money and jewelry I took to them. I thought that I had found an honest people to deal with, and had already recommended these people to several friends. I will be contacting my friends and letting them know that I was mistaken. If you want the true value of coins and jewelry you are selling, it would be in your best interest to NOT take them to the Coin and Jewelry Gallery in Gainesville.

When I entered I was overcome by a horribly strong odor of what seems to be a combination of bad incense & herb burning for many years. The store suffered from the 4Ds.....dark, dingy, dusty & dirty. In so far as pressured sales, yes they do suffer from that also even to the extent of as you're heading toward the door. The couple of items I had a somewhat interest in the shopkeeper could not demonstrate or explain them correctly. Personally I couldn't get out of there quick enough to get fresh air in my body. To add to the dismal experience I had to maneuver myself around beer cans in the parking lot.
