Prices are fair and the atmosphere is low key. But when you have a chill location like this, understand you have to be flexible. I have been by a few times when they were closed during hours they were supposed to open and have looked for tho ha I was sure they had, but did not. I like coming in to find random stuff like Shell Scott Mystery Magazine from 1966, five issues of a series reprinting EC Comics' Extra and the program for the 1970 Palatka High School football team. Boxes of back issues are full of $3 comics. One wall has CGC-graded comics.

I personally have to note this was the CLEANEST bathroom in all of the Coliseum of Comics I've visited in Florida. The price ranges were on par with all of the other stores in the state as well. The main reason I wanted to leave this 5 star review was for the young man working the counter in the front. Warm welcome the moment we walked in, attentive to any questions we had, and overall the KINDEST employee we have ever interacted with in the 9 locations I have been to. I unfortunately did not catch his name but he must be college age since he said he was getting ready for his midterms. We fan girled over Hunchback of Notre Dame because of my earrings and I told him to look up 1998 Notre Dame De Paris on YouTube. Having more workers with his customer service skills/ level of friendliness makes a huge difference compared to others we have been to in the past.

We picked up a Pokemon Celebrations ETB and a few sleeved singles and one graded card. Thankfully while Pokemon cards are pretty much sold out everywhere this shop carries a great selection of ETBs, singles (even vintage!), Figure Sets, Battle Sets everything! Pricing is reasonable (only slightly higher than MSRP) but good luck trying to get anything in stock at a nationwide retailer. They have plenty of floorspace, don't get me wrong, and they have a lot of inventory, most of it locked behind glass doors that you have to call a sales person over to open. Seated there for a couple of hours, I found that the place is kept at a temperature that is a bit too warm. Combine that with the lighting that is too stark and the lack of sound proofing that causes echoes to occur everywhere, and staying within the building for any length of time is not a pleasant experience. I get the distinct feeling that this is a storefront where they want you to come in, select something, buy it, and get out. I felt no sense of community in the store, no warmth (except for the heat), and no real welcomeness.

I didn't really have a goal in mind for what I wanted, so just going through the stacks and browsing to see if anything caught my eye was the basic plan. Lots of people lined up, but I got through the line pretty quickly. Inside, the books are arranged in a reasonable order, and the different sections are easy to identify, so finding areas that interested me was not a problem. Coming across the cooking section, I found that there were a number of smaller cookbooks that I like to term as "Wive's Club Cookbooks" which can be some of the best/most entertaining cookbooks you can come across due to the nature of the recipes that are contained in them. You never know what you are going to find in them, though recipes from the 1960's are prevalent and gelatin comes into heavy play. Good stuff there, and I stocked up on them. Overall, the Friends of the Library book sale is always a good thing to go to!

Highlights included the giant Gremlins and Pokémon vending machine, though sadly it was out of order, it was still fun to see! We also noticed a neat speakeasy out back that we definitely want to check out next time. Overall, this is a great spot for any nerd, collector, or cosplayer. Nice shop and Great customer service…read more While I mainly look for vintage figures the shop seemed to have a nice mix of modern and vintage depending on what you're looking for. They also had a nice selection of comics. My main collecting focus right now is old Mattel Secret Wars figures, while I didn't see any of those the Horror Figure section caught my eye. We ended up leaving with a set of Halloween 3 Toony Terrors and 2 of the 2012 Figures Toy Company reproduction Mego Mad Monster figures. All in all a solid shop we'll stop at whenever we're in town.
