After…read morenine weeks, I can only say their service has declined markedly since we hired them in 2016 to look after our father in similar circumstances. Our biggest gripes are the awful scheduling services, and the very gruff, uncaring women who answer their phones. 90% of my phone calls to the central number leave me feeling the person answering the phone resents being bothered with my questions. Although the individual aides and nurses, have been good, our problem is the complete lack of any consistency in scheduling. Numerous times during these 2+ months, aide visits have been changed on the day of arrival minute. We never receive any advance information about nursing visits except for the planned days of visits. No expected windows of time for their visits are ever offered. We have complained about this for six weeks in a row, and the receptionists who answered the phones simply could not care less. The case manager nurse who took over for my mom several weeks ago has never been back. And with all the nurses, it is extremely burdensome when they never tell us an expected time of arrival, so we have to wait throughout the day wondering whether they will come at 9:00 am or 2:00 pm. It makes it impossible to leave home on these days to run errands, take a care-taking break, or anything. It is an unneeded stress placed on family that could be solved with simple professionalism of informing us of a time window for arrival. I agree with a few other reviewers here that while the care itself is not bad, the awful lack of communication is a problem that Masonicare neither cares about nor seems interested in solving. They seem clueless on what family caretakers are going through.

Unfortunately, our experience with Always Best Care in Manchester, CT, brought anything but peace. Out of three scheduled visits, two had no documented care notes provided to the family, an unacceptable lapse in accountability for any agency claiming to offer professional in-home care. On the one day when a family member was present, the care appeared attentive and thorough. However, when no one from the family was on-site, there was no evidence that any meaningful care had been provided. We found my mother in the same clothing on Saturday as she had been wearing on Monday, despite two scheduled care visits in between. Her living space had not been cleaned, laundry had not been done, and no hygiene assistance had been given. There was no documentation, no follow-up, and no communication. We later learned from the Director of Operations that internal notes for the Tuesday visit (one of the undocumented days) indicated that my mother declined hygiene assistance due to not feeling well. This is critical information that was never communicated to the family. If our loved one was unwell enough to refuse care, we absolutely should have been notified immediately so we could check in or seek medical attention if necessary. Additionally, no notes at all were provided for the Thursday visit. This complete lack of transparency, paired with poor communication and inconsistent documentation, makes it impossible to trust that proper care was ever delivered. When you entrust an agency with the well-being of a vulnerable loved one, basic communication and follow-through should not be optional; they're essential. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Always Best Care in Manchester as a trustworthy provider of in-home care. Our family deserved better, and so does yours.

Within minutes a young lady from Garden Realty was calling looking to find out additional details on our wants and needs. A few minutes later that day, I received an email from Greg Hanner with additional information on the property, the area and an introductory video of himself, his realty company and services. Later that evening, Greg called me to introduce himself already informed on the details from my conversation with his assistant. He shared his background and extensive experience on the southeastern part of CT (2022 and now for 2023 the #1 Agent of the Year for CT New London County). I told him that we were early in our search and that we weren't even sure if we were ready to buy any properties. However, if we found the right place at the right price, we would consider it. Greg was very professional and pleasant, and even with this low-level interest, he was willing to assist us in our search. Over the next few days, he shared a series of property options, his own personal experiences with other buyers, and scheduled a viewing on the original property we had inquired on. Over the next few weeks, Greg facilitated several showings, and was present at each one, very engaged, clearly informed and knowledgeable. Greg scheduled the property inspection with a local home inspection team he had worked with in the past. Greg was there throughout, asking questions, ensuring that we understood where there were areas of opportunity. From the inspection, there were a number of areas where we would need addressed at some point, so Greg negotiated a credit to the purchase price as to not disrupt the tenant to address some cosmetic issues. Overall, our experience with Greg was very positive. His knowledge of the local market, his experience as seasoned realtor, his pleasant demeanor, with and realistic expectations were exactly what we needed.
