My dad is now a resident at Masonicare in their assisted living section. He's been there a little…read moreover one month. The staff is friendly and helpful. The facility always looks and smells clean. They provide rides to doctor's appointments and have relationships with excellent healthcare providers and a pharmacy that delivers. I toured three facilities before choosing Masonicare and am SO happy with this choice. My dad likes the location, "most" of the people (LOL), and says the food is "pretty good" which is pretty high praise from him. (Before he moved we tried Meals on Wheels, which he described as "inedible".) They have a lot of activities and although he doesn't participate in all of them, he's enjoyed the ones he has. He has a one bedroom apartment with a walk-in closet, and a small separate living room and kitchenette, which works well for him. Although he'd prefer to be at "home" (now sold), he says Masonicare is a good second option. This really is phenomenal given he originally refused to consider assisted living. Highly recommend checking out Masonicare if you are looking for either independent senior living or assisted living.

One of the owners of the company (the one we dealt with) knew this as it is her family member. Each day she picked me apart, berated/ belittled me about the most minor tasks she had listed for me expected each day. I couldn't focus or concentrate on simple tasks because of how bad her temper was snapping on me at any given time. By far she was the nastiest, angriest person Ive ever met! I lasted within 3 weeks. I reached my breaking point and decided by the end of my last shift with her I was done. I endured more than enough verbal abuse that I could stand. I should have walked away sooner. I suffered and my mental health, which took a beating. My stress levels and anxiety were through the roof. Things got so bad for me I called my health care provider requesting my anxiety medication be increased from dealing with this woman. Also I'm a person who suffers from chronic migraines she made them come on more frequently. Each day I was having panic attacks to the point where I felt in need of air like I couldn't breathe. I DO NOT recommend this company period. My family knew about how badly I was being treated and urged me to get away from her. The job is not worth it out of desperation in need of money. I learned the hard way finding out exactly why I was hired immediately. Guaranteed this woman has a reputation within the agency and I'm one of the many caregivers who have left this client. AMP should have been honest and up front about the case. All the grief and damage that was done could have been avoided.

We contacted Home Care Assistance who came and met with us to assess the level of care required and to find a caregiver with the required skill set to appropriately take care of my mother. They found 2 caregivers within a day and reviewed their qualifications and experience with us. We requested an interview with one of the caregivers which was immediately set up. After selecting the caregiver, our Client Manager accompanied her on the first day and stayed a while to ensure a smooth transition. Our Client Manager keeps in contact with us regularly to make sure things are going well and if there is anything additional she and the team can do to assist. It's hard enough deciding it's time to get a loved one some help, so choosing a home care provider is a very important decision. We are very happy with the care and interest Home Care Assistance staff and personnel have supplied with the care of my mother. In a fast moving world with numerous responsibilities to attend to daily, it's very comforting to know that there is someone there taking good care of my mother and to ensure she has everything she needs. In addition to finding qualified help, it was very reassuring to discover the honesty of our caregiver as well. With my mother's dementia and confusion that comes with it, she paid her caregiver $50 cash her first day. The caregiver brought it to my attention and handed me the money.
