The facility always looks and smells clean. They provide rides to doctor's appointments and have relationships with excellent healthcare providers and a pharmacy that delivers. I toured three facilities before choosing Masonicare and am SO happy with this choice. My dad likes the location, "most" of the people (LOL), and says the food is "pretty good" which is pretty high praise from him. (Before he moved we tried Meals on Wheels, which he described as "inedible".) They have a lot of activities and although he doesn't participate in all of them, he's enjoyed the ones he has. He has a one bedroom apartment with a walk-in closet, and a small separate living room and kitchenette, which works well for him. Although he'd prefer to be at "home" (now sold), he says Masonicare is a good second option. This really is phenomenal given he originally refused to consider assisted living. She took the time to really understand my uncle and aunt's need for homecare assistance, and to collect the right information to convey to her staff. She is top-notch. Sue, one of the care managers, consistently goes far beyond her normal duties in handling the case-care involved with elderly clients. I cannot say enough about her professionalism in helping (including at the "11th hour") out our family's situation. Having Sue on the case is like having your own "personal ally" when navigating the difficulties of healthcare. The individual caregivers from this company, down to the last employee, have shown up, been courteous and caring to my uncle, and seem to have genuine concern for the elderly. I later got scolded, and what felt like retaliation they tried to suspend me for a month regarding my uniform. I was new and only had 2 uniform tops working 50 hours a week. There was one day I was out of the uniform top, Which I wore a sweatshirt over. They did not give me a verbal warning and tried to suspend me, but then HR realized they were not following their own policlies and took back the suspension and just gave me a written warning. After that they told me the following week my hours were going to be cut more than half! I am a student and a full time worker and I support myself I do not recommend this workplace, the employees always talk about how new employees don't last long and I see why!
