I can not believe that the board has allowed our beloved Masonic home turn into the place it is now. I am heart broken and disappointed.

So over $300k to get in, and another $3k per month rent, and your family will never see a dime out of it. My Mother was there for about 8 years, and every year was worse. The maintenance of the facility is OK, but it took them months to do simple hall painting. Do they make improvements or replace things while you're there- nope Mom had to go to the rehab facility, and was very despondent that all they did was put her in a wheelchair and left her in the hall. Mom hardly ever complained, but she was in tears begging me to get her out of that place. I managed to get her back to her apartment, and got live-in care (NOT through the absurdly expensive Masonicare people!), and then I get a call from State of CT, with Masonicare accusing me of Elder Abuse, because I took her out of a place that did NOTHING for her except suck up massive sums of money. It's good for them that I live 1200 miles away or we would have had a VERY direct conversation. Thankfully I found a great live-in for Mom who took fantastic care of her for over a year until the Parkinsons took her. Even when the live-in Rose left, she said she'd never care for anyone in there again -"they're nasty and all the want is $". Yes, I agree. I sent a note to their CEO in June 2020 mentioning some of these things and that they really needed to update things such as being able to get electronic billing and paying (it is the 21st century), and never got any form of response. There are other places for senior living. If this place is really on your consideration list, think long and hard about it, since if they can't make a dollar on it, they're not really interested. While they IMMEDIATELY bill for everything they can think of, after Mom passed, they submitted some bogus bills, and I told them they could pound sand. They eventually admitted that, OK, costs after she died were probably BS. THEN, they owed me some $ back (rent paid in advance, and it took FOUR MONTHS to get it, as they had some nonsense about waiting for costs to come in. When it was my turn to pay, the costs came in within day, but when they owe me money back- MONTHS! Anyway, I have very little good to say about this place. Very little. There's much better I'm sure.

I truly expected a better customer service experience, but am consistently disappointed. The staff…read moreare out of control and the management has not addressed the antics. They park in the spots near the building when this is a place for elderly! They should park farthest away. So many times I hear curse words from the kitchen staff and cooks, this is unpleasant and not what I would expect for the money!

Not one had running water and all of them had something in the toilets, no bottled water in any of them either. I used the sanitizer station in the hall. When I asked them why, the Aide or Nurse told me Legionnaire bacteria is in the water. My friend has been there a month and they haven't had running water in the building since then. Trash is all over the floors, cleaning staff swept trash under a bed while I watched. It smells and all the windows on the second floor that I looked at were screwed shut. Don't they know what safety bars are? This place should be shut down. In response to David's reply...the water has not been turned on for over a month in there. It was off when my friend arrived and it's still off. Second, I am not a liar, the windows were screwed shut in the room where visitors visit, how do I know this? because I went to open one when the stench from feces in the toilet THAT WOULD NOT FLUSH got too overpowering for me. And third, I watched an employee sweep trash under a table and walk away. AND FOURTH...If you think I am stopping with just this review...think again.

Don't even get me started on the'food'..... brussel sprouts were served daily and they were obviously left over day after day!... they couldn't even stand up under their own weight!! Powdered eggs cold food..... people being left yelling all night long because nobody would come and help them! I was lucky enough to have my own phone but they actively blocked the signal so that the internet wouldn't work!.... When I finally got out of there I deliberately watched my phone because I suspected what they were doing and what do you know... as soon as I exited the building and walked across the street all the bars and rainbows on my phone went up to full reception!... I was right, they were actively blocking it!... and don't let them tell you it's because of all the electronic equipment because the most modern equipment in the building is an exercise bike that was probably from the 60's!! I could go on and on about this place and every facet of its existence!..... I'm pretty sure it was conceived and created by nurse Rachet! Lol I have been out of there , living independently for a couple of years.... And I still have the occasional nightmare about that place!
