I live in California and was shopping for an investment home in CT. This was to fulfill my 1031 exchange - there was alot of time pressure to close on a good property - and I was doing it from a distance. Betsy was my main point of contact -- she is very responsive and knowledgable, and is a great communicator. Tom helped view properties and added his knowledge about home construction and he's also good with tech. They provided me with a Matterport (3D-walkthrough) of the home I purchased which has been so helpful in managing upgrades. They were both a pleasure to work with and plan to use them again for my next property. read more

Betsy Purtell - Real Estate Agents Near Me

My wife and I worked with Betsy over a period of 9 months to find the right house for us, and we are glad we did! Betsy understood exactly what we were looking for and was able to point out properties that met our needs. She was professional and knowledgeable but we were especially impressed by her attention to detail - she replied immediately to all of our messages and if she did not know the answer to a question offhand she investigated and got back to us, leaving no loose ends. It was a long process but in the end we found our dream home and we couldn't have done it without Betsy! read more

Our first home purchase experience with Betsy was nothing short of outstanding. After hearing several horror stories from friends with questionable or shady realtor experiences, I was diligent about interviewing several agents before choosing one which would assist my wife and I with our first home purchase. From the first call, Betsy stood out as someone with experience, integrity, and honesty. As first-time homeowners, we had lots of questions, did not fully understand the process, and didn't fully know what we wanted. Betsy was always patient and provided us with guidance/recommendations, while always ensuring to not necessarily sway our opinion/decision - a tough balance to find, but one she struck quite well. What we appreciated especially was the lack of pressure. It was clear from the start that she wanted us to be comfortable and happy with our decisions. She stayed out of the way and stepped in when needed, never crossing into our personal territory, but still dropping helpful tips and suggestions along the way. By and large, responsiveness is one of her great strengths as well. As someone who tries to always be on top of things and proactive, I sincerely appreciated Betsy's responsiveness., never missing a beat. Betsy's husband Tom is also a realtor, so in times where she wasn't available for some reason (not often), Tom was able to also help us out which made sure we never missed any opportunities. Our home search time was (with a bit of luck perhaps) not so long, given the market conditions. Within 2-3 months, and one lost bid, we found a home we absolutely fell in love with. And most importantly, this is where Betsy's experience shined. She helped us leverage all the possible purchase tactics we could use, within our comfort zone of course, to maximize the chance of winning the bid. And thanks to her experience and guidance, my wife and I are grateful to be living in a home which we can confidently say is a dream home for us. We hoped to find a nice home to raise our future family, but we didn't expect to find one that we loved as much as we do this one. Thank you so much, Betsy! To a future buyer, know that you're in good, well-experienced hands with Betsy. read more

Betsy was more than a relator to us. We are so grateful we found her and worked with her to buy our first home. Through the process she became a moral support person, friend, mentor.... She helped us every step of the way in buying our first home: from visiting homes, placing a competitive offer, finding the right lawyers/inspectors/loan officers, answering questions about the area, and finally helping us at closing day! She always answered all the questions we had so considerably (even though some were super basic, I am sure). She never made us feel silly for asking, and she always had the answer to put us at ease. She was available and responded so quickly to emails and texts. She is also very detail oriented; on the day of our inspection she printed out the coupon for the inspector for us.. So beyond thoughtful. We knew she was always on our side, and helped us navigate this market during the pandemic. She is beyond professional, and inspires even us to be better at our own jobs! read more

When we were going to sell our house - I called a local real estate attorney to ask: "Who is the best realtor in town?" The answer came without hesitation - Betsy Purtell. Our experience bears out that assessment in spades. Betsy was very helpful from day one with practical advice on pricing, staging, showings etc. She made what is a very stressful process simple and straight forward. She is always on time, always very available to answer questions. We were very, very pleased with her approach and the entire process. We would absolutely use her again and refer her to anyone who asks about a good realtor. read more

Betsy is hands down the best realtor I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Throughout the process, she was always quick to respond, happy to explain things we did not understand, and guided us by sharing her knowledge and expertise without pushing us to do anything we were not comfortable with. My favorite thing about working with Betsy was that she never failed to recognize that buying a home can be a stressful and overwhelming ordeal, and throughout the home buying process she teated us as she would a close friend or family member. I highly recommend Betsy without hesitation! read more

After 3 years of waiting, and watching, and not really wanting to get involved in a highly competitive buyers market, the time had come for my husband and I to find a new home. Betsy had helped us with another home purchase, as well as 2 home sales in the past, so we knew she was the one to guide us through the process once more. As we experienced a wide range of expectations and emotions throughout our house search and eventual purchase, she was always available to offer her expertise and professional point of view. She consistently answered all of our questions with patient, honest, down-to-earth suggestions and solutions that we truly appreciated. With Betsy by our side every step of the way, we found a house that we love, quicker than we had expected. She is an amazing and dedicated realtor and a wonderful person. My wife and I have worked with Betsy (3) times now. Of course each time because the previous experience was so awesome. With Betsy I feel like I've got a friend in the business who has my interests at heart. Her responsiveness throughout the process is second to no one.I've always felt she was 100% honest with me as well. No real estate games just the truth. She also gets answers quickly and never hesitates to show a home to you if you're interested. I've worked with other agents in my earlier years and they are no comparison to Betsy. I'm getting older now and don't know if I'll sell/buy another home again but you shouldn't hesitate to call her. You'll be glad you did! read more

I'm so happy to share this review about Betsy Purtell. Our house went to market at the start of January, we closed today, and we could not have had a better partner in that process than Betsy. Our house sale was not the most straightforward, for several reasons including the fact that we live 5 states away! Betsy was so good at both keeping up posted as well as responding to our text, emails and phonecalls that despite her being very in-demand, we felt like her only clients. She's totally unflappable (pretty important in this current crazy housing market) which for us being so far away, was incredibly reassuring. It goes without saying that Betsy ensures that all the paperwork and formal parts of the process are efficiently carried out but when out of the ordinary situations arose, she was brilliant at working with the buyers and their team to come up with solutions that worked for everyone. It's absolutely my pleasure to recommend Betsy because not only will she get your house sold, she'll even help you to enjoy the process:) read more

I've had an excellent experience with Betsy Purtell selling my property in Cheshire CT. Living in the other state I thought it will be challenging but Betsy assured me, I didn't even have to travel because she can handle all without me being present. And she did. She exceeded my expectations being friendly, approachable and always responding immediately. She also gave me a contact to closing attorney which handled all legal matters for me. What an easy sale it's been thanks to this experienced, professional and so pleasant Relator! If you're looking for a real estate agent Betsy Purtell is the one-she will not disappoint you. read more

Betsy has done it again! We just finalized the purchase of our second home with Betsy. We are so lucky to have met Betsy almost 5 years ago, and because of the relationship we established when purchasing our first home, I didn't think twice about reaching out to her again. Betsy MORE than exceeded expectations!!! She was undeniably the very best!!! Betsy was so easy to work with, answered all our questions, and when things got complicated, she was quick to respond with results. She continually represented our best interests when dealing with the other agents, and made sure things continued to move forward! Betsy represented us as both the sellers of one property & the buyers of another!! And, as sellers, our house was quickly under deposit with an over-ask offer within 24 hours!!! I can't express how much we enjoyed working with Betsy!!! I only wish we could continue working with her!! read more

Betsy was a pleasure to work with. She was very knowledgeable and professional and responded to communication almost instantly. She helped get our home under contract in less than one day on the market (for more than our asking price). Honestly I was overwhelmed looking for a realtor in the area with so many different options but Betsy was absolutely the right choice. She even took the photos for our listing when a photographer wasn't available due to covid. She is highly experienced and all around an excellent choice. I wish that we stayed locally to use her for our next real estate transaction! read more

Betsy was the assigned agent to assist with my work relocation. She was such a blessing to our selling process and wonderful to work with. We've previously listed our house twice with plans to move out of state, but both times did not attract much interest. Hamden is a tough market and the location of our house had several disadvantages which made selling our house that much more difficult. Betsy was very positive from the get go, but realistic with us in terms of expectations. She went through market data with us to explain her thoughts on the suggested listing price. Betsy also recommended some improvements we could make around the house to increase our selling chance. We used stagers recommended by Betsy and they did a great job in setting our house up for showings. Betsy always kept our budget in mind and only recommended improvements that were truly necessary. I've worked with several realtors in the past but it's such a pleasure to work with Betsy. She kept me in the loop, answered my calls/text promptly and was extremely patient with all my questions. Since I already moved to another state due to work, Betsy checked on our house periodically and always there when I needed someone at the house. Her guidance through this selling process in the tough market was much appreciated. I was really weary of the market and uncertain how long it will take to sell our house; Betsy was optimistic and confident which made me felt much better. We received multiple offers for our house within the first three days of listing and sold above our asking! I highly recommend Betsy and cannot thank her enough! read more
