If you are looking for a place to have a nice hair cut and friendly service with an affortable price, you should try this place. The hair designer, Tany, was very precise and took time to make sure all the layers were well cut. Each step, she would explain the purpose and the process of it very kindly. It is not a fancy, high-end luxurious hair boutique, but everyone was incredibly sweet and caring. I will definitely go back there. read more

Laura Pedrys at Cole Street Salon is the BEST! I have followed her from salon to salon as she is seriously a very talented hair stylist. In fact, for the past three years (since I moved from Metro Detroit) I travel back monthly from Toledo, Ohio to see Laura. The reason I remain so loyal to Laura is because she has amazing vision and is super talented. Also, Laura is fun to be around, always listens to her clients, has great knowledge of hair products that are tailored to the specific client, and has helped me to find hair styles that look the best for me. Aaron Michael is a great! He didn't give up on my hair until he got it looking good again. My highlights kept turning copper-ish in color, which I despise. I guess the undertones in my hair reflect that whenever I try to go from a darker to lighter. He welcomed me back to get all that unwanted color out and did a wonderful job. I feel comfortable seeing him for all my hair needs down the road. He's also down to earth and funny, too. Aaron is my first male hairdresser and I feel like he gets it more than any of the women that had worked on my hair in the past. I have gone to Marie S for over ten years. She always does a deep conditioning with my color, which I have found that not that many salons will do complementary...or on another note, even ask! I lived in Chicago for seven years and would always come back to her. The salon is amazing as well. They have darling jewelry in the front for you to peruse and the staff is very friendly. They also have an array of other services available. Parking is easy and free right across the street. read more

I went to Cole St. Salon for a number of years and saw several different stylists there of varying capabilities before finally leaving. It become nearly impossible to get an appointment and I found the staff at the front desk to be very RUDE (both on the phone and in person). I have also heard some horrible rumors about the owner of this salon. There are a number of great salons in Birmingham. Don't waste your time and $$ at this one. read more

I have been going to Cole Street Salon in the rail district of Birmingham MI for over ten years. It is a wonderful salon, clean, interesting and easy to park at. Cece the owner is my stylist. She gives me a great cut, and wonderful color. My hair is appropriate and believable for my age (60yrs.). Cece is thoughtful, sensitive to my needs and concerns but also makes good suggestions to what might work best with my hair. I cannot say enough positive things about this wonderful gem of a salon. I've been going to Cole Street Salon for years, because my stylist works at the establishment. I receive superior service on a monthly basis from Melissa Sawyers and will continue to follow her wherever she works. I typically purchase products from the salon when I check out. On February 13, 2017, I purchased Kevin Murphy Angel Rinse and paid $32. When I got home, I noticed the price marked on the product was $30. I immediately called the salon and was told by Allison there was an error and I could bring in my receipt the next time I came in and I would get a $2 credit. On March 14th, when I returned for my next appointment, I looked on the shelf and noticed the Angel Rinse was marked $32. When I checked out, I brought out my receipt told the owner I was overcharged for product purchased last month and was told I would get a $2 refund on my next trip to the salon. The owner looked up the price in the system and said the product costs $32 (and no refund is due). I was dumbfounded. Normally, a business honors the marked price when a product is mis-marked. When I got home, I looked at my near empty bottle of Angel Rinse and noticed it was also marked $30. I guess I was caught up in their price increase and I'm being held accountable for their inaccurate pricing. I think I will start buying Kevin Murphy products from another salon in the future. read more
