Everyone hypes up cold stone, but I guess it's one of those places that is to each their own. I didn't think the icecream was all that amazing. Flavor, sure, but not anything wow. Very milky almost yogurt feeling. Though there were chunks of cookie dough in mine, you could of fooled me. I hardly could tell when I bit into or was chewing on any pieces of them they didn't have that cookie dough flavor in my opinion. It was good, not bad. But just decent. Maybe I am more for the sweet and flavorful haha. If you like it lighter maybe you will love them. The three kids that were in there only one was taking it serious. The other two were messing around playing with each other (boy and girl) while there was a line. Also, pricier than most. read more

Terrible customer service manager did not call back after multiple calls. Previous owners were fantastic all done with this store.

I understand ice cream in the middle of a New England winter may not make sense to some. However, if you haven't tried this place yet, I promise you, there is no need to wait for summer. It is absolutely out of this world! The staff is exceptional and had no problem picking out something delicious when I let them pick. The made it quickly and seemed happy to do so. Honestly, I forget what she called what I got but it was definitely the right choice. From what I could tell, everything in this place would be scrumptious. I love the ice-cream here but it is sooooo expensive. Ice-cream for 2 of us was almost $12. That was including the 1 free mix in. I can't really justify spending that much. The cakes are really good but I have one gripe with them. I've noticed that the chocolate curls or other garnishes usually have a stale freezer fish taste. Sarah G and Joel are awesome employees. First time at Cold Stone and it was more than just okay. Very good high quality ice cream with a veriety of different add on items. My choice was Coffee Lovers Only: Coffee Ice Cream with Roasted Almonds, Heath® Bar and Caramel it was fabulous. Service was friendly, efficient in spite of the large crowd. I'm not a fan of chains but Cold Stone is one I have no problem supporting. This location is very clean inside & has a nice seating area. Whether it's the owner or not, the employees are friendly & helpful. Plus the ice cream is delicious & they offer it many different ways. Unlike the other ice cream places in the Westerly area, Cold Stone is open year round so you can take care of that ice cream craving in the middle of winter or summer. read more

My ice cream was Berry Berry Berry Good just like the flavor name! I got a Love It (regular size) in a waffle cone ($6.25). It consisted of sweet cream ice cream mixed with strawberries, blueberries and raspberries. While the ice cream was great, the service was only sub par. One of my friends had a gift certificate that he wanted to use, but the staff couldn't seem to figure out how to work it. My friend ended up standing in line while his ice cream was melting so the worker could call the manager. There should be better training of employees both in how to handle gift certificates and/or customer service so that my friend could have been given the option to finish his ice cream with us rather than waiting in line to solve an issue created by the lack of knowledge from store employees. read more

I love ColdStone. Banana Ice cream, yellow cake, oreo...these things were not known as a combination for nirvana for me before going to the Coldstone in Waterford,Ct. So to have a Coldstone open in my more local area I was thrilled! I went in about 3 weeks after their grand opening on a friday night. I went in and got a pint of the forementioned nirvana and the girl (Sarah her name tag said) waiting on me had a very hard time. From knowing how much ice cream goes into a pint, to remembering the order itself, to actually putting the ice cream into the container. I am willing to give a little slack...obviously this was her first pint BUT the actual mixing of my 3 ingredients was just HORRIBLE!!! Now a pint comes with 3 mix ins and I was only getting 2....and yet she only gives me a TINY piece of cake and ONE Oreo to mix in for the ENTIRE PINT! I've bought the Love it and Gotta have it sizes before and ALWAYS got more then one oreo and usually 2 pieces of cake...and here it is a PINT and I'm getting nothing. Then as I said, the actually mixing was horrible....A crush of the ingredients and one fold of the ice cream is NOT a good mixing job. Sure my pint was tasty but only because I like Banana ice cream plain too. Basically all the good stuff (what little there was) was at the bottom. I was very disappointed with my first visit and considered writing a letter to management. I did go back a second time though to pick up those Ice Cream Cupcakes for Mothers' day. That experience was so easy. I came in, grabbed the cup cakes, the check out girl was really nice and friendly, and I left with no hassle. Those cupcakes were delicious...and worth the $10. SO here is my advice. If you love Coldstone...it is fine to come here but I would avoid busier times and make sure it isn't Sarah doing the dishing...(or if it is, be willing to speak up if things go wrong). If you have kids or a big party...I think I'd skip Coldstone and go to the Dairy Queen over the border in Pawcatuck or perhaps Creme And Cone....as both options are delicious and a great deal cheaper. *update 5/18/09* Came for sorbet with my boyfriend as he has never been to a coldstone and was watching his weight...mine was eh (sinless sweet cream & strawberry), his lemon tasted like Dels lemonaide and was quite good. I tipped the girls this time to hear the girls sing (as they are supposed to at coldstone) and got nothing. I think I am going to boycot this location from now on...I always seem to be disappointed. read more

I love Cold Stone ice cream. I was so happy to finally have one in Westerly. The place is kept nice and clean and the staff is always extremely friendly and patient while you make up your mind. The only problem is it depends on who makes you ice cream as to how much of an added item you get. It's usually consistent if you get the younger girls. If you get the owner of the place prepare to get skimpy portions of add-ins. I don't think this is right as you are paying quite a bit for every extra ingredient that they throw in. The owner will most certainly be "tight" with the portions and I don't mean average with them either. We asked for gummy bears on one of the cups for my son and there were FOUR gummy bears on it....REALLY?? She would shake the spoon so that almost everything in it would fall out, she did that with every topping we asked for. On the way there I'm usually just hoping that the owner isn't there when I order my ice cream. Even with the skimping the ice cream is still good and better than Dusty's; the only other option for decent ice cream in Westerly. read more

I love going to Cold-stone. It is the perfect treat on a hot day. My personal favorites are the pineapple blueberry smoothie, sweet cream ice cream, and raspberry sorbet. The employees are always super nice and helpful. I would go everyday if I could. read more

The ice cream at any Cold Stone location has always been good, making it a reliable choice. I asked for a SMALL chocolate devotion on a cone. I have no idea why they don't have sugar cones for the smaller sizes, not good business. This is the first time a small cone or waffle cone of any size has ever cost over $7. That is unreal. I can get a large cone at my usual place that makes their own small batch ice cream for less than that. Does a large cost $10?? I don't know if the girl just overcharged me over if these people are on drugs. I would make sure to keep my receipt if I go back. Pints are around 8 and 10 for quarts. The quality is good but price wise you might be better off picking up a couple pints of Ben and Jerrys next door at the grocery store. Anything is better than Dustys but I think I will just make the drive a bit further to find a good place. read more

The staff at Cold Stone is like a small family! They are a delight to be around and always keep the smiles coming. The whole store is immaculately clean! You walk in and are greeted with a hello and they immediately get to making your creation from REAL icecream and home made treats. The prices reflect the homemade ingredients and REAL ice cream, we absolutely don't mind spending a bit more when it is worth it, and anything from coldstone is certainly worth it! If you want REAL deal ice cream, this is the spot! They are open all year long, what more can you ask for! read more
