I normally don't write reviews but after seeing these ones I wanted to say that last Friday (8/15) I stopped by after almost turning around because of some of the bad reviews, but I'm glad I didn't. Even though it was busy, I was greeted right away by each worker. When it was my turn to order, the girl helping me was super friendly and made some nice small talk while mixing together my ice cream. At checkout, they were all genuinely thankful for my tip, which was nice to see. I ordered the Birthday Cake Remix and it was delicious! They even offered me a lid so I could save the rest for later, which I really appreciated. Overall, I had a great experience here. Honestly, I think some people need to be a little more understanding, these teens are working hard during their summer and doing a great job. I'd definitely come back. read more

If you're like me, and you're thinking "I haven't been to Cold Stone in many years, that sounds like fun", go ahead and stop there. First of all, let's acknowledge the sizing. Cold Stone does not operate under normal human sizing. Your options are: enough to satisfy a young child, a ridiculous amount for a grown adult, or an amount meant to feed a large gorilla. I did not know this. I regret that I did not know this, and that I did not know that their display sizes are a horrific misrepresentation of what you're going to actually get. The menu is entirely incomprehensible and designed to make you, the customer, look and sound stupid for daring to order a cup of ice cream as a grown adult. Eventually, I figured out that it's basically Subway. I ordered a large size, and quickly regretted it as the most comically enormous scoop was dug out of the freezer. I can't even put it into words. I don't think it would have fit in one of their quart containers. I should have taken this as the giant red flag that it was. After paying Disneyland-tier prices, I am handed a towering, ridiculous serving of ice cream that stands over twice as tall as the cup itself. This is great for about 3 minutes, after which it begins rapidly dripping down the sides of the cup and onto my pants, legs, hands, and shirt. I am a grown adult covered in ice cream in a way that would make a toddler jealous. Everything in a five foot radius is sticky. The fact that they were bold enough to sell me this "to go" is incredible, but honestly I respect their strategy in doing so, because the alternative would have been to make an enormous mess in the store. Instead that happened in my car. Awesome. I had to throw away my $12 sloppy mess of an ice cream dish after all of 5 minutes in cool, 70-degree weather. It was an obnoxious, highly frustrating experience with no redeeming qualities. This chain owes cows everywhere an apology for undoubtedly producing huge amounts of wasted dairy product, whether in store or in the form of "to go" orders that are impossible to actually go anywhere with. This store used to be really clean and smelled like cinnamon, and had great quality mix ins and ice cream. Today I went with my mom, nephew and daughter. As soon as we walked in, we were hit by the smell of rotten milk. I wanted to walk back out. All of their ice cream was melting behind the counter. One of the sorbets had a pool of clear liquid in the middle. I usually get sweet cream, but i tried it and it tasted off. Instead I got cookie dough ice cream with cookie dough pieces mixed in, which tased really stale/rancid. I wanted to get a refund but my mom already paid for everyone and told me to just trade it. I got another flavor which was good, but the smell of rotting milk was really unappetizing. The bathroom was also really gross. It doesn't seem like sanitation is high on their priorities, and I was not super comfortable with my nephew and daughter eating there. I won't come back. read more

Came in with my partner and noted how confusing the signage was, both of us were unable to properly find the scoop sizes vs. the bowl sizes. Upon receiving our bowls, (both in dipped waffle bowls) we realized there was no to-go container and that both were incredibly over full. We had to then attempt to commute 15 minutes home with two melting, over flowing ice cream bowls. They, of course, began dripping everywhere and no paper towels or protective measures were given to us, so a large, uncomfortable mess was made and $25 in ice cream was wasted because we weren't interested in eating in the shop. This is a very easily avoidable situation, had the employees of this store not piled the most ice cream physically possible into one little bowl. As soon as it started even slightly melting, it was dripping from every crevice in the cone. I'm not one to EVER complain about too much ice cream, but this was just ridiculous. I don't expect 5 star service from Cold Stone but I do expect courteous behavior. I came in to grab some ice cream to go. The place was empty and the two girls working seemed busy. I walked over to the ice cream case and I wasn't paying attention and all I heard was "online order". I thought the two girls were communicating with each other and didn't think anything until I looked up and saw one of the girls holding herself back from laughing. I then realized she was talking to me and I said 'oh I'm sorry,no, I'm not here for an online order.' I proceeded to say 'sorry I didn't realize you were talking to me' when the girl that wasn't laughing talks back to me asking what I was saying. I looked at both of them in disbelief because you have one girl who is holding herself back from laughing and I am not sure why and then you have another one with major attitude and all I'm trying to do is grab some ice cream. Neither of them seemed like they wanted to help me. I contemplated just leaving. The ice cream I received was pretty much plane coffee ice cream and not anywhere near what I have ordered in all my previous orders. Don't be disrespectful to paying customers who didn't do anything to you. The owner, manager needs to take responsibility for how their establishment is ran. This was from a previous visit a couple weeks ago that I did do an online order. To my mistake some how it defaulted to the scholls ferry cold stone. I did not realize this and when I went to pick up at the Tualatin location because this is where I live I realized it wasn't at this location. I asked the girl (the one who was laughing tonight) if I could have it re made at the Tualatin location because it was an honest mistake that I ordered at the scholls location. Her response was "yeah we can make it here, but you'll have to pay for it". I was floored by her response. Not everyone is out to scam you. It was an honest mistake but I drove 25 minutes out of my way and went and picked up the ice cream at the scholls location. I would take my business elsewhere going forward. There's plenty of other ice cream establishments with friendly service and better ice cream. read more

Management--Heads up: Visited this location 3:42PM Saturday 10/29/2022. No other customers, two staff--one male, one female. Walked in and said hi with no response except the female moved toward the counter where I was standing. Didn't address me, just looked down at the counter. I stood there for a bit, still nothing from either employee, so walked out. Looked back and the female was smiling. Guess that's a score for her--got paid to work and didn't do anything. Not the first poor customer service at this location. Put up some cameras, do some further training of those employees who don't completely blow, get rid of the bad ones (see ya chick). FYI--was here when the same male was training, and he was the only polite employee of, I believe, four on that visit. Dude--raise others to your level--don't sink to theirs. The ice cream is great here. Been coming for years and ordering birthday cakes and all sorts of things. Not sure why there are so many Karen's wanting to put negative reviews because the quality is great. Service is great but when it's busy you may not get all the attention you want. I mean it's an ice cream shop. If you come during the summer there maybe a large line. The wait may be a while. It's to be expected. I've had nothing but amazing experiences every time I come. So I wouldn't take any of these negative reviews to heart as it's almost comical that you would expect 5 star restaurant experience from a small ice cream shop mostly ran by younger people! Came in on 5/19/2019: Last visit ever Pretty good icecream! But high schoolers need to have at least one adult present and managing them. Attitude completely unchecked. Its important to enjoy work, yes, but when someone comes in a bit later (like 9:20 when you close at 10) its not ok to say "oh god why". Then he goes to the back and texts on his phone/plays with his hair/flirts with the other young team member before coming back to do the other part of our order. That kind of stuff can make a bad day feel even worse for a customer. I get the food industry, i know it sucks when people come in late but you are still open! And most people who come in late would even tip better! Have come in other times to the same snarky attitude from young teen girl, as well as other family members having the same experience. But after my friend payed, it was $12 (because she was paying for one of my friends) so she gave them $20, she was supposed to get her 8 dollars back for change. Just came in with friends and the store was clean staff were on top of it. From order to ice cream in hand was 5 minutes. I came out with my son at 930 to get coldstone for our early Christmas. The staff had closed 30 minutes early and were cleaning up the store. I worked in food service for a long time and never once was it acceptable to close the store early. We just moved here from Arizona. We normally visit Cold Stone in Scottsdale, AZ once a week. We drove from West Linn to Tualatin to find a Cold Stone here in Oregon to get our favorite.... Worst.Service.Ever! We arrived at 7:35 and got on a short line -- there were 8 people in front of us. After 10 minutes of waiting, and not having budged one inch, it was easy to see why. There were three people behind the counter; two guys and a girl. The girl was working her tail off getting people's orders, one order at a time. The two guys were a shame to their race. One spent 15 minutes filling up a bottle of chocolate sauce. The other basically stood around and talked to the other two. Every now and then he would make gesture at helpfulness by waiting on someone, but moved at a snail's pace. So, being the 9th and 10th people on line, we finally got outta there with our ice creams, 35 minutes later. We love Cold Stone, but not enough to go back to this one. To start it's always clean, I've been there 6 times and it's ALWAYS clean. The staff there are some of the friendliest people. Every time we got in there I see smiles. No matter how annoying my kids, and sometimes my husband, get the staff are patient and fun. If you need ice cream that's a step up from fast food places this is a great treat. The only down side is that they are more expensive but hey it's ice cream. Splurge if you can it will put a smile on everyone's face. read more
